Just got back to ACTUALLY being able to play the game (no internet for afew months...) and ranking back up was goin pretty dang smoothly with me just messin around with Mikey. With the event going, I have some games where I'll mess around and wont hook someone if itll kill em, but just leave em slugged so their teammate can pick em up. Really just depends how many event cakes are used but I have no problem lettin 4 ppl farm abit while havin some fun. Games that Im the only one putting a cake in however...survivors face a swift death... And this worked fine til now purple ranks. Just finished a game where I had all 4 survivors hooked up at once and...safety pip.

    For my game, they didnt even finish the gens. Still had 2 to go. Kinda hate how they redid the devout emblem so getting 4 survivors dead on hooks isnt enough for an Iri.

    Are you still trying to follow that killer's pip system that is only beneficial to survivors? Just try to kill them all and feel good about not letting anyone escape whenever you can. Have fun. What if you don't give survivors enough opportunities to leave? Those pips and rank means nothing to me, Im here for their blood and salt

    Honestly we doing the devout emblem has to be the worst thing they've ever done when it comes to the emblems.

    It was really simple before

    1k bronze

    2k silver

    3k gold

    4k iridescent

    With the way that it's designed now for you to get that iridescent you practically have to hope the survivors save each other.

    If the survivors don't save each other, the survivors just DC or kill themselves on first hook the killer ends up being the one getting punished for something they have absolutely no control over.

    Honestly I feel like they just need to revert the change. I've always said this and I'll say it again when you're punishing the killer for doing too well that is bad game design.

    Steamrolling in Dead by daylight for killers is actively detrimental. I've had games were I had to reduce how much pressure I was applying because no one was going for any saves.

    4k, 5 gens to go... As you can see, there was no camping penalty and...safety pipped, lol

    It's because the ranking system is garbage.

    I've never played any other game where you get punished for being good at the game.

    Hag is a good example of this. You lose out on chaser emblem when Hag isn't a chase killer. You get punished for playing her effectively.

    I don't have my adept Hag simply because of this.

    @Thaznar They were talking recently about changing it. Something about comparing Trappers to Trappers and such, due to how different killers end up being affected differently. I just kinda laugh at it atm, cuz my Freddy game lasted like 2 minutes.

    Don't camp while there are still gens to protect

    Don't tunnel off hooks (you get less chaser tunneling, cause of the one less health state you have to chase through)

    Play with them a bit, meaning slug one or two here and there and use that time to continue protecting gens while others have to leave gens to heal


    I rarely get less than 1 pip most games now because I follow these.



    I'm tired of this mind set of "4k no pip?!"

    Killing doesn't mean you have skill, and they're trying to make emblems more around skill. Sorry it's not like it used to be but we need to adapt.

    Quoted for truth, they've made it clear the rank system isn't about just terminating survivors anymore so people should start being less surprised when they don't pip.

    Murder is one category, there are four. If you for example....performed a totel of about 4-6 hooks, most of the survivors being sacrificed at the same time due to slugging or NOED then pips are very unlikely. Gens were likely not protected enough to create a good enough lightbringer, there wasn't enough violence through hitting and hooking people multiple times and the chases were likely short due to a specific ability or the circumstances in which survivors were caught.

    It's not too difficult to check your math on a game if you think back to what happened. Did you really deserve the pip? I see a lot of killers complain when they camp a survivor after gates are powered and kill an entire altruistic team that likely pipped. That doesn't undo the first half of the match unfortunately.

    P.S. I will admit that as far as I know emblems aren't tuned per killer and that can definitely affect how pips work if you aren't chasing much.

    @Tower_XVI So my killing an entire team in 2 minutes and getting a safety pip for it while not camping at all is...bad?
