To killers: What do you do when someone farms?
If someone farms a survivor on the hook, do you show mercy, or do you take the opportunity to grab a free hook?

No one is going to admit the latter to you. But literally 95% of killers will slug both and or rehook the same person every single time after waiting and purposely targetting the player being farmed. This is because if you unhook your teamate, you must automatically be a SWF and therefor punished by getting tunneled. Then blame the survivor for being farmed off the hook in front of him. Killer logic

I tend to slug the person from the hook and chase the farmer.
11 -
Chase the one that did the unhooking slug the other if I can.
2 -
I slug the unhooked survivor then chase the unhooker. Then I hook them both >:D
2 -
Well, I mean if they made that type of play like "Ha ha screw you killer I am gonna save anyway" Yeah this is how it normally goes.

I make a point out of it and tell them no. Head shake and all. One hit as they're unhooking, a second after they finish unhooking, I've still got someone on the hook. Generally I'll just let the other guy go unless they're ridiculously bold and immediately try to farm the other guy back.

@Peanits I will be 100% honest with you if I get farmed by you without borrowed. You bet your sweet ass I will return the same gesture. Survivors that don't like me from my domination as killer want to not heal me and instead t-bag ontop of me. You bet I don't even attempt to get them off the hook. This game at its core has the survivors ability to play selfish and cut-throat. I like Dwight's perk bond: "We have to work as a team, I need you to survive so that I can survive!" — Dwight Fairfield If you are working against me in a match you might as well be the killer.

I'm a switch but i've never seen that happen.

It depends on how the game is going. If it is going well for me anyway and I can afford it, I'll let the person who got yolo-unhooked go and focus on the person who farmed.

Oh trust me it happens. @martin27 people hold grudges in this game. Do you ever consider why the toxic ones change their name soo much? It is so they can't be recognized instantly. When I swf we have a thing we never save Megs/Neas when they are randos. Simply because when we play solo they are our two biggest problems. I also play at the same rank I kill. The same times the same people. It happens. I have already been left on the hook or bond/obo sandbagged for 'revenge' because I rekt them as a killer.

This came from quite a funny situation when trying to rank up during the season. Where every time we had a good match going it would be completely destroyed by either a farming nea/meg or a sandbag that caused us an early death. So the rule of thumb was nea/meg is left to die unless they did good during the match. However, we would always save dwights/fengs as they were our main. Even if it lead to self-sacrifice. We both hit R1 perkless as survivor and killer so rank/pips didn't really matter. We just prefer to get out of crappy ranks/players. @kamisen

I almost never go for the unhooked person. The only reason i might do it, is if the hooked guy was bm before.

I just tunnel the farmer. Person off hook would probably get BT or have DS anyways

I slug the guy who got unhooked, then chase and Mori the other guy because I've likely already hooked them - giving the slugged guy time to be helped back up. Screw you Survivors who farm hooked teammates, you guys are horrid and make me feel justified in giving out the Moris.

I'll down one, slug them and down the other. High rank is so unforgiving that you must exploit every mistake they make efficiently or you lose immediately.

I try to down the Unhooked person to deny the Safe Hook Rescue. Then I go for the Unhooker, regardless if the first worked or not.

If I play a killer with a one hit down (which I typically do as a Billy main), I will go for the unhooker because if it works then there is still one on the hook and one down. Otherwise I will be that guy who slaps down the person being unhooked if it is done right in front of me. Unhooking in front of the killer is practically begging them to hook the same person again and is a bad play all around (especially without Borrowed Time) so I have no problem with capitalizing on said bad play for another hook and a faster chance to eliminate the survivor from my game. I am not afraid to admit this. Am I someone who tunnels? No, but I will take advantage of you farming your teammate.

"No one is going to admit the latter"
If I need you dead, I'll gladly take the free hook. But BT exists, so not likely.

Farming =/= SWF. Every last time I've been farmed while playing survivor, it was by a random.
If people farm each other then it's a free win as a rule.

I kill them both, the unhooked one first. My objective is to not let anyone escape.
1 -
It's situational but I typically go for the farmer. Sometimes the farmee hops in front of you or doesn't move and I interpret that as you knowing you're safe or at least thinking you are because of BT so I might give you a nice little whack across the kisser too. If the farmer uses a speed perk to quickly get some distance I'll down the person getting farmed if they're close enough to hopefully keep the gens safe while I apprehend the suspect at large.
Really it depends on which killer you're using, what the team brings in item wise or just how well they're playing if you have any room to show mercy in the first place. There's no reason to ensure your loss when your opponent isn't pulling any stops. Capitalizing on a few mistakes still isn't even going to grant you a safety on its own.

@MySpaceBarsBroken I hate to break it to you... Read the rest of the tread we have no problem admitting we will take advantage of a hook farm. However, "Oh they unhook must be swf" is a lie as well. However, who decided to unhook after being hit by the killer without borrowed time? Not the killer he/she is just the one swinging.

I will probably slug the unhooked person and then chase and down the farmer. Proceed to facecamp and hit them on the hook until they die.
At that point I don't care if the rest escape, it's about sending a message on how trashy it is to farm other players and ruin their experience.
Fun anecdote, I did that once to a Kate who was farming WGLF with no BT (before the change) and the entire rest of the team stayed next to me teabagging the hooked Kate while I nodded at her till she was sacrificed, then the game resumed as normal.
That ought to teach her.

I expect ds at all times so I slug the unhooked survivor and go for the unhooking survivor afterwards like most killers.
0 -
Slug and leave the unhooked to prevent the WGLF stack, then pursue and destroy the un-hooker.
1 -
I usually go after what I think is the easier target. Sometimes that involves getting the person fresh off the hook; sometimes that involves immediately downing the farmer and having the farmer take the hooked person's place. Sometimes if I suspect DS I will down the unhooked person and go after the farmer.

Depends. If I am playing most killers, I go after the farmer. I like to get all hooked at least once, personal goals. Now if I am playing good ol Bubba, I dropping everyone.

Then theres the guy who tunnels a farmed sucker and doesnt give two sh*ts about the awful experience hes forcing on them in conjunction with their farming teamate, because hes never played a game of survivor before or just doesnt care. Obviously it's always the best play to tunnel the injured guy and gamble for borrowed. But it shouldnt be allowed and should continue to be frowned upon for doing it until something is finally done to prevent it. Right? @Peanits

@MySpaceBarsBroken lets ban the killers for capitalizing on your teammate's mistake! No, if anything the prompt time for "Safe Hook Rescue" should be doubled or made until the person is healed. Another mechanic that can incentive taking time off gens. If you reach that pallet before going down boom you are considered 'Safe.'

Slug the unhooked survivor to deny points and down the other survivor if I can. If I can't do it quickly the one who gets farmed is paying the price for their teammates.
I don't care about made up survivor rules. If you want a fair game then play better.

Depends on the stage of the game. If they farm I down the person off hook but i normally leave them as a slug and let them be saved. I ideally down and hook the farmer here. If they have borrowed time I leave the unhooked person and let them go free because that's a fair move.
If its end game with like a DC or somthing I normally let 1 person go; either the shittest or the best person. But I their friend is first hook or struggles and they don't save and hatch camp their ass is mine if I get them. I always let people save in DC games because I mainly played survivor for ages and know it sucks.

I make sure that the unhooker gets an unsafe unhook, downing them both, and then hooking the unhooker first. If the unhooked gets away due to BT, DH, or some other twist of fate, good for him/her, but I never let the unsafe unhooker get away.

While I know it's not going to teach the farming survivor any better, I down the unhooked. If I get hit with BT, then I make a memory of it. It's the farmer's fault things ended this way, and all survivors should blame the farmer, not the killer. Any time I'm farmed, I cuss the hell out of the farmer. It's not the killer's fault he was handed a free hook but you can bet your ass that survivor is getting a mouthful or at least a report. Unless you have BT, wait until the killer leaves to unhook. It's almost always the correct choice to do this anyways, as BT really is better used as a last ditch effort to a camping killer, not just a free unhook because they're eventually gonna get hooked right back if the killer can see them and doesn't chase you.

Depends on the overall situation. Toxic swf group trying to bully me and genrush? Well thanks for making it easier to kill your team mate, I will take it.
Solo survivors hardly doing gens and one 4head thought it's a good idea to farm you? Don't worry, you can live.. For now. I will focus on the farmer.

Non SWF:
The guy taken off the hook gets slugged. I let him have time to crawl away (I want dem points) .. The guy who unhooked I chase down and hopefully by the time Im done hooking them, the guy who got slugged should be up if he has some decent team mates. If not I shrug and hook em anyway.
SWF:
I slug them both, hook one, stalk the other .. maybe ill keep swinging at their slugged body if i feel like it .. maybe hook that guy if there is one near by. I have no mercy for SWF. I wont dodge you or DC (I still want dem points) but i will make your life a living hell.
SWF who are nice:
Rare that a SWF is actually playing a respectful match. But if it happens, I treat it as a non SWF. I'm there for points, I like spreading the love as much as possible, maximizing my score. Sometimes every one dies, sometimes everyone gets away. I dont really care when Im playing with nice people. This rarely happens tho.

I'll down the person and leave them slugged while I chase the other person. If I can't do that, I just chase the other person.

I down the rescued , slug him then I facecamp the rescuer.

Slug the unhooked person and chase the unhooker.
