Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Is DbD using Denuvo (DRM)?

Denuvo is DRM solution and is known for a quite huge performance impact. I wonder if DbD is using Denuvo and might consider to dismiss it for more performance.

I think @McLean is the expert to answer this but I will ask you aswell @Peanits

No, it is not. There wouldn't really be any point.

There where some games using this DRM solution with steam, they removed it later on but and the performance was much better. That's why I asked.

Sorta', but not really. Denuvo is DRM, not an anti-cheat. It stops people from pirating the game. It's pretty secure, but ultimately it's not going to work forever. Most developers will stick it in there to protect the game at launch since that is typically when their game would make the most sales. If people really want to play it, they'll go out and buy it before it fails. After a while people will find a way, so they tend to just get rid of it completely at that point. At that point it served its purpose and the game is already out there, so you might as well get rid of it to get rid of the performance hit.

Only games are a little different, obviously.

But yes, we've never used it.
