Don't add that cute elephant skin for Clown

BHVR said in their twitter that they plan on adding that cute skin for Clown.

If you add that skin, it most certainly won't be the last one of the kind. There are a lot of complaints already about how the game is getting less and less scary and adding such skin will start the process of total withdraw of DBD from the horror genre, and that is a shame. Maybe focus on really scary skins and forget pink cute elephants?

FNaF isn't a horror game, it's an anxiety game. It lacks the ability to create real dread - then again, so does DbD with its reliance on LOUD NOISES and jumpscares.

Personally, a fuzzy elephant coming at me with a spindly knife, intent on eating my fingers.. it's a bit more visceral than, say, Evan 'Trapper' MacMillan, esq. "Big Man have chopchop, much chop with chopchop" just isn't scary.

But...Pink Elephant! And what would the contest winner think if it wasn't put in?

Sometimes things are scarier when they're also cute.

Are you really gonna pretend that this skin will be added because it can be scary, and not because it will be funny ingame?

Well regardless a lot of people think it'd be a cool skin to run.

@hahmraro I said it would be visceral, not scary. I specifically said DbD isn't particularly scary in how it approaches things.

DbD is already only a horror game for new players. Over my hundreds of hours in the game, I noticed that scary things like the heartbeat, the red stain behind me and even just sitting on a generator not knowing what's going on have faded and become casual. And I don't mind. Yes, the thrill was exciting but that same thrill is what produces immersed rank 18 Claudettes and Megs that just crawl around the map's outer walls. I agree with you that it's sad but for engaging, high level gameplay to be possible the horror aspect has to be neglected to a pretty wide extent. It's even kind of beautiful that this game can turn from a panic-inducing horror game into an almost competitive action game and work moderately well both ways. However, since the action part takes up the majority of the playtime for loyal players, it should always be prioritized inmy opinion.

There's the chance the costume will appear more rotten and less funny-looking than the original drawing. In any case I think a cute costume loved by kids hiding a brutal serial killer is kinda disturbing, and is in line with the Clown's lore.
