Character Classes
It's been discussed a few times on this forum, and Devs have agreed it's something worth considering, but is there any word as to when we might see them appear?
I would love to have classes so I could experiment with builds and switch between them easier.
EDIT: I think I've done a really poor job at explaining this lol. People think I'm talking about RPG classes, but I'm actually talking about loadouts / create a class just so we have shortcuts for switching between perks. Ideally each character would have 5 allowing for multiple builds making it easier to experiment. For example:
KILLER
Class / Loadout 1: Butcher
- Ruin
- BBQ
- Nurse's Calling
- Sloppy Butcher
Class / Loadout 2: Loop Breaker
- Bamboozle
- Spirit Furt
- Brutal Strength
- Enduring
SURVIVOUR:
Class / Loadout 1: Stealth
- Urban Evasion
- Spine Chill
- Lithe
- Iron Will
Class / Loadout 2: 2nd Chance
- Decisive Strike
- Unbroken
- Dead Hard
- Deliverence

Claudette - Healer
Meg - Tank
Bill - Wizard
Dwight - Paladin

If anyone is gonna be a tank, its gonna be Jeff or David. Meg can be the scout.

You mean loadouts?

Kate: bard
David: berserker

The reason I called her Tank is because she's good to take aggro and run the killer ;)

Ash - Dark Knight
Feng min - Rouge
Nea - Necromancer

Feng Min: Not in the story because everyone hates her too much (her voice is worst than screeching a fork against a chalkboard) so they just throw her in the trash can.Bill - Solider
Laurie - Fighter
Meg - Scout

What classes can you even think of for so many Survivors?
Or would there only be a certain amount of classes, and then Survivors are divided amongst those classes?
Which, ironically, would once again just make people go for the best class, making you see the same few Survivors again, with rare occurrences here and there.

I meant loadouts, like Call of Duty 'Create A Class'.

I have no idea what that entails.
Would a specific class only be able to use a specific Item and/or Perks?

Trapper: Trapper
Wraith: Priest
Hilly Billy: Blacksmith

Their base kit perks are their classes. It just isn’t spelled out like in rpgs. Consider it a fluid class system since survivors are just skins once you unlock perks to others. Same with killers but they have much more depth with their passives and abilities.
Giving survivors passives would give them a much more defined role and would give others an idea of what perks they could be running. But it’s a balancing act and would be hell to incorporate with all the perks already in the game. Maybe in DBD 2 later down the road survivors will have those.

Teachable ruined everything.

I personally think an easy way to give characters classes would be to make their most useful/thematic perks as a "power" for the survivor while removing them from the blood web or possibility to equip as perks.
For example:
Meg: Sprint Burst
Dwight: Leader
Claudette: Botany Knowledge(Not self care because it wouldn't fit her role as a healer)
Feng Min: Lithe
Nea: Balanced Landing
David: Dead Hard
Jake: Iron Will or Calm Spirit(or a 100% speed Sabotage to make him a sort of sabotage class)
Ace: Ace in the Hole, or a buffed Up the Ante
Laurie: Decisive Strike
Quentin: Wake Up or Vigil
Tapp: Detective's Hunch(with a buff: Whenever he's inside 10 meters of a generator, rather than completing a generator, he can see the auras of generators/chests/totems within a 16/32/48/64 meter range. Reason for the 16 at the start is every prestige level will increase these powers by a tier, to give a better reason for prestige. This isn't necessary but it'd be nice imo)
Ash: Mettle of Man
Jane: Head On or Solidarity
Jeff: Breakdown or Distortion
Adam: Deliverance or Autodidact
Kate: Boil Over or Dance With Me.
This could solve two things: One, people wouldn't always be using multiple crutch perks together(can't use Decisive + exhaustion perks for example), and two, it'd give us more use out of other perks since we'd have these in our base character. If this became too powerful, we could remove item add ons and just make the items slightly better overall to compensate(some add ons could become items though, like instaheals just to counter things like red killer add ons/offerings). I don't think it would, even though it'd essentially be giving a free perk to each character, due to the amount of perks that aren't that useful in comparison or used much at all.

Im just a killer,
I have no problem with you guys pigeon-holing each other into roles.
Just dont mess with the match load times while you guys are busy kicking each other out of parties and screaming at each other for not picking the right roles and arguing over what the best meta match ups are. Oh an Ill be ready for nerf survivor threads. This will be a hoot! Im ready for this!

Jane's definitely the tank with her thick juicy thighs!

Ohhhhh, you're saving what you have equipped and then you can select it to quickly change into said loadout.
Yeah, I'm surprised that's not here yet considering Mcote loves the idea.

Exactly! I imagine it'll be implemented soon, would just love to know when.

Oooooooh! Wait! Load-outs! Ha!
Sorry I gave you so much sass, no, I actually think quick load-outs are a cool idea. I have several builds that I would have liked to just have a quick slot option. THAT ladies and gentlemen is a cool Idea for both sides.
