Killers disconnecting at the beginning of a match

Sometimes I face killers who disconnect after they checked what offerings have been brought and a match began.

When the cake I brought was crushed by the disconnecting at the beginning of the match, I was so sad.

How do you know it was intentional and not their internet taking a dump

I believe that, in the most of the cases, a match would be canceled before the loading ends if its connection or loading simply failed.

Disconnection at the very beginning of a match with some offerings working better for survivors (from BP boost to Map selection) can be doubted as intentional action because if a match once begins, killers are able to make them be consumed by disconnecting.

And at that time 1 survivor used a Vigo and I used a cake. How can I think it wasn't intentional?

I hear so many people complain about killers DCing but i haven't seen it in a very long time and even then it was super rare. I've had a couple of games not load up because a couple of times the killer has disconnected but i assume that's just someone's internet dying. I've never heard of anyone DCing because someone has brought a bonus BP offering.

I'm simply jealous because you haven't faced nor heard of the cases like what we've got in Asian server.

I've actually faced these cases several times and been always worried if what I bring (especially very rare ones) will be erased by disconnecting.

Ok that sounds like it's a regional thing, that's probably why i haven't come across it.

I've had killers DCing after the match started or DCing after the match progressed to the 5th gen being repaired, and not get my points. Aren't we supposed to get the points we made so far + the escape bonus for the DC?

I don't think there's an escape bonus for killer DC but you're suppose to keep your points

If the killer DCs after the match started and you did nothing, you get 5000 points because you managed to "escape". Same as the killer getting points for survivors DCing. However, it doesn't always work for survivors so I don't know if there's a special requirement to be met for this to happen. @Peanits can you throw some light on this matter?

If they disconnected before the match fully loaded, thus canceling the match, then you should still have your cake offering. The offering is removed from your load-out though and re-added to your inventory, so you just have to replace it again in your load-out, but it is not actually burned.
