Suggestion: survivor traits
I know i'm not the only person who thinks there is no variation between survivors other than skins, as teachable perks can be learned, however simply locking teachables to that character would just make every play meg.
I think every survivor should have a base trait, that works similarly to a perk, but is locked to that character, and then only have 3 perk slots. The traits would be more passive than perks, and would encourage different builds on different characters.
Some examples are:
Claudette has a healing speed boost (unoriginal i know)
Ace has better luck from chests and hook escapes
Dwight can repair gens faster (as in like 5% faster nothing extreme)
Meg can run faster (literally only like 2% but admittedly this idea is bad)
Neas footsteps and breathing are silenced
My ideas are probably awful and in the games current state (where levelling up takes ages) it would annoy people as they have to level up all their survivors, but imagining some actual good ideas, and if levelling up didnt take ages, what would people think of having traits instead of a fourth perk on survivor
TLDR: have a trait as a locked perk which is different for all survivors, and is always passive

Though 2 percent may not seem gamebreaking if Meg would have hope whick boosts speed by 8% for 2 minutes when gates are powered she would be untouchable by 110 killers during endgame. Though the idea isn't that bad.

YES GO FOR IT I THINK YOUR IDEA WILL MAKE KILLER MAINS LIVES EASIER.
(I am a killer main)
I will remind every survivor every time this is brought up:
a) If you want to lose freedom, by all means go this route, freedom to choose what you want isn't some peoples cup of tea.
b) When you do this you create a new power balance, one of tier lists, party structures and "optimal" gameplay beyond the current "what perks are best" gameplay. Again if you are ready for what comes along with this (more DCs, toxic "don't pick that character" behavior, etc) then more power to you.
c) When the meta gets established killer mains like myself will enjoy more "normalized" gameplay (not that we don't already) Where the parties will be the exact four characters with the exact 3 perks (since one is chosen for you.) Im down for that.
Now with this you guys will have more benefit out of the shrine, your individuality to represent that one character you hold so dear, and forum wars to please buff/nerf this survivor (kinda like Killers, only now, you know, survivors.)
TL;DR If you want more build character specific and restrained game-play this is a good idea. However it will be at the sacrifice of making builds with the freedom to choose the cosmetics you want.

That would lead to less survivor variety in lobbies. And it would make balancing unnecessarily harder.

I like the idea, for DBD 2.
There is always going to be a trait that is just better than the rest, which will basically force players to use them for efficiency sake, and forcing players to play certain characters at over 3 years into the game cycle is bad. considering the time and money some sink into their favourite skin.

It would only lead to less survivor variety if unbalanced. Im imagining a scenario where the devs actually make something balanced, in which case it would encourage diversity

Like i said, my examples are bad, it was more the concept that i was suggesting
