@everyone who is against Crossplay
Because of "pc players have the advantage over ps4 players" let me clarify 2 things:
1. Crossplay would be AN OPTION for console players. So those who want to play against everyone would check the box "match me up cross platform".
Those who don't want this and only go against players on their console simply would check this box.
Additionally, console players would have another option only excluding pc, so at least they can play between ps4 and xbox.
2. The advantage of fps and having mouse + keyboard:
Devs are constantly working on optimisation, so fps should be hopefully no issue anymore. Also, this is not a first person esports shooter game, having 30 fps and go against someone with 144 fps isn't going to make you lose.
Also, we can see that on console is probably an "evolution" going to start, games are starting to support mouse and keyboard, Microsoft already started to publish certified mouses to use on xbox.

I have friends that play on console, always saying, "No one plays X killer because it's on a controller"
Mostly Nurse, cause I can't imagine what that's like. Supposedly, survivor on controller is just fine though. At least, it's easier than playing killer on controller from what it sounds.
We can make all the speculations we want, but we would really need to at least try it out. Having more people to play against is always great.

Do people even realize that some PC players use a controller. Some use controller for survivor and keyboard and mouse for killer................. It's not that big of a deal which input method you use, just like some speedrunners play Megaman with a mouse and KB and some use controllers, they still compete agaionst each other.

Like we've discussed in another topic, the so-called "pro-dbd players because mouse and keyboard" don't really have anything special when you play with them. I play on console most of the time, but I sometimes play on PC and I have to admit I have a better escape ratio than on PS4, with a higher average of bps per trial, and usually much higher than the other 3 survivors.

It would split playerbase and leave longer wait times on ps4 only queues itt has to be all or nothing.

Yeah. As a PC player I only use controller and I've made it to purple ranks as killer. Only Nurse and Huntress are effected that much when using a controller.
Crossplay would be amazing for the game. Queue times would see a huge decrease. It would also insure the upcoming Switch and Mobile ports don't suffer from small player bases.

No to crossplay, until the devs enable m/kb support on consoles and optimize the game to run at a consistent 60fps for consoles.
BTW, Xbox allows full native m/kb support for games now. It's just that developers need to enable this feature for their games.
BHVR wouldn't even need to create a new system here, they just enable it as it is enabled on PC. Done.

I don't care if they introduce crossplay, but I doubt they get it to balanced. PC players will always have a significant advantage unless they plan to optimize the hell out of console really soon.

Console survivors do not adjust graphics settings just to see the red glow through walls. This exploit needs to be removed before we let PC survivors cheat their way to victory!

Dead by daylight isn't a shooter or anything so its not that difficult on console, people just like to complain so they can have an easier time winning.
I wouldn't mind playing against some Pc players that have the mindset that they have a huge advantage because they paid extra money to play the same exact game I'm playing.
If they happen to be better Its fine since I'll get better from playing them.

It does cause a disadvantage in some instances, specifically if you play killer. Also you have the option to adjust your FPS. We don't, we are just locked to whatever FPS the devs set the game to.
Oh yes, let me just open my fat wallet and dump $2000 on a new computer, then another $80 on DBD with all the DLC, then spend another 2k hours to get all the perks and stuff back to where I'm at now JUST to be able to use a mouse. Makes total sense why didn't I think of that.
The feature is there on Xbox, I shouldn't have to do anything except ask BHVR to enable it.
And yes I said MOUSE. Not mouse and keyboard. Keyboard sucks for movement, I actually plan to use a mouse for aim and a controller for movement. It is far superior to m/kb.

Having it on low has more than just better fps, the graphics in general looks much better, has less foliage and looks less blurry. Also, red stain mindgames still works, no matter what graphics settings you have. So calm down.

I do just fine as Killer with a controller because it's not an aim intensive game.
Even on huntress I can hit hachets consistently it just took practice.
It's sad to see people resort to using a mouse or keyboard instead of just getting good, it's not impossible.

Only problem is framerate which when they have 60fps garunteed it will make it alot better for console players.

What they meant was the playerbase would be split and could be lower for those that opt out of cross play possibly creating longer queues if more of one side opts in other the other.
At best right now the devs could do a test with PC and Xbox primarily as Microsoft seem more open compared to Sony. This is to gather stats of how the games play out. It would need to be a test of many player skills and not a select few hand picked.
I personally don't think it would work out as well as some think. I could see the complaints increasing about balance and some may even quit feeling more disadvantaged.

I fully support the cross play! The number of players would increase dramatically, reducing waiting times for pairings to just a few seconds. It would be a great goad for developers, who, aware of the differences between consoles and PCs, would be motivated to accelerate optimization. It would be the perfect crowning of the Entity's wishes, unique and omnipresent, which wickedly grins to keep all its slaves under its own evil gaze, without any ghetto.

As far as balancing for console vs PC goes, rankings should account for that plenty. If your in a situation where your opponites arre regularly crushing you without much resistance, than that just shows the ranks are off abit. If they implimented cross-platform after a rank reset, you'd see the normal mess that rank reset causes, followed by everyone falling into a rank that would (ideally) have close matches. You might not end up in the same rank AFTER crossplay as BEFORE crossplay, but since rank doesnt actually give rewards...I dont see this as a problem.

Devs don't want to split the community.
If they invest a lot of work to implement crossplay and people will just opt out of it it will make it wasted effort.

True but there will be games where it will matter a good point is looping console killers cut corners like a semi truck vs mouse and keyboard players who can hug them tight and make tight turns there will 100% be posts crying about this watch and see.
Another good example is 360ing is going to be funny i cant wait for all the posts "ITS OP"
Trust it will happen its going to be just like the Sea of Thieves situation where turning on there is awful and it gave the pc players a huge advantage.
People want crossplay deal with the situations where you just lose because of your platform xD
And dont even get me started on console survivors some of them BARELY look behind them trust me when i say its not going to be very fun for them.

Ppl who have difficulty will just more likely fit into closer games at lower ranks. As far as the 360 comment... Marth from the depip squad uses a controller when playing survivor. The same tricks on survivor you can do on a keyboard can be done just as easily on a controller.

Thats weird...Its not even a control thing that counters that, but rather use a quick swipe instead of a lunge if someone tries to 360 into you. Either way though, its something console players are already experiencing against other console players.

I'm all for cross play! and the controller thing I play this game on ps4 and pc both with controller and feels fine.
and on a side note sony has done cross play with pc street fight V which I play on ps4 with a friend who on steam only trouble with cross play with sony is cross play between other consoles XBoxone/switch.

That's the personal choice, this is actually the opposite of splitting the community. Also, this could allow more game modes when the playerbase increases

Add a sensitivity setting for controllers, and buff optimization, it will work just fine for console
