How do I
Convince my new newbie friends that self care is not good, kindred is actually good, and spine chill is actually good?
One of them said "Ehhh" to Spine chill, treating it like a trash perk, which stabbed me considering how many times it has saved my life.
And they think self caring after dropping pallet is a good idea. So how do I convince them that self care isn't good and they should use medkits or bond instead?

SC takes to long to heal. It's better to bring along perks that would make regrouping easier and quiet your cries. It also isn't good to be healing yourself rather than going for a save if the killer's far away. Kindred's use is debatable. You won't be able to make use of it (can't see if the killer's camping) and a lot of newer players don't know what to do with information. Spin Chill is nice for knowing if a quiet killer is coming to you. I would say take them into a KYF and approach them with a quiet killer such as GF or Wraith. Additionally, it counters beads. They probably just need it explained to them how to use the perk. They won't be able to make good use of it if they don't understand how it works or where to look when it lights up.

Just tell them that experienced survivors usually do not use SC. The time you spend healing can be better served repairing gens.
Once you gain more confidence, it's not hard to repair a gen while injured. If you understand how to run the killer, said player can typically avoid going down fast.
The perks you mentioned are good because they help manage chases or improve team coordination.

Hand them a medkit and point out that it's twice as fast.
2 -
you aren't healing yourself THAT many times in a single trial.

Explain to them that Dead by Daylight is a game about time management. The 40 seconds they take to self-care can be used to do half a gen or even more if they are the type to run to a secluded place to self-care. Ask them to pay attention to how many times they self-care per round, and then convert that, across all team members into hypothetical gen progress. It will become clear to them that they could be ending games much more quickly if they just play injured or have a team-mate care for them if they avoided Self Care. You could also tell them that they could pack a med-kit in game to self-care without having to take up a perk slot.
Explain to them that Spine Chill acts as an early warning system to some of the stronger killers in this game, such as Nurse, Spirit, Hillbilly, as well as against stealth killers. Being able to tell when a killer is looking at you is a huge advantage once you know what to do with that advantage. It provides invaluable and precise information that no other perk can.
Self-caring at a pallet is just stupid and they should know that with simple common sense. You're losing distance between you and the killer by sitting and waiting for them to eat the pallet, and distance = time, and you goal during a chase is to waste as much of the killer's time as possible, etc....

Drive to their house, slap them for insulting spine chill and then block them.

New friends I got for sparing them as silent Wraith, they basically disagreed with all my survivor perk tips ;-; It really stabbed me that they insulted Spine Chill "It only tells you if killer is looking at you" which is really good!

Block them! >:c
1 -
Nah, they seem chill (one of them is weird though) and they did say my tips were useful :)
0 -
But they said spine chill was bad! You need to punish them!

Also, I now know that I am a bad stealth Claudette, I did KYF and tried, and I got found a lot, so I juked one of them a few times but got downed too many times because I don't have a mouse to tell where the red stain is. XD
But Spine Chill ;-; I am sorry I let someone insult you
(They also think kindred is bad!)
And is it considered toxic to self care after dropping a pallet? They think it is a good idea, but they will see :P

+1, Super valuable tip

Burn their house down. Punish them.
1 -
i mean, what if they are little kids? I don't know their ages XD

Fine. Break every tv in the house.

Play a KYF match and prove it's worth and just tell them to bring Leader or something like that with Bond, so you could get quick heals from others.

THEY WILL NO LONGER WATCH PEPPA PIG
THEY WILL LEARN THAT PREMONITION IS NOT BETTER THAN SPINE CHILL

PC, unfortunately. It seems like everyone on forums is on PS4 :P
HAHAHAHA
*Insert creepy evil Peppa Pig pic here*

Honestly, the only thing you reasonably can do, is accept that they are going to learn the hard way.
Everyone has a different play style, some of them work better for each individual. Though i would highly suggest not healing in front of pallets, that's pretty much bound to go wrong and really does sound like they have been watching way too many youtube vids.
1 -
Just wait, they'll eventualy rank up and face a good spirit or nurse, then they'll change SC, I learnt the hard way, LOL
1 -
Okay, they still think self care is good. and they think Dead by Daylight has no time in-game. What the heck. I brought healing perks and they kept on self caring for the "points" wasting our time >:(

Direct them to PainRelievers video on Spine Chill
1 -
Good idea. I hope they can take the ASMR quality if his voice >:)

You don't convince them. You let them have fun however they want.
0 -
But they will realize how much time they waste, which is not fun.

Spine chill is god tier with the info it provides and the situations it can be used in, i agree it has saved me as well countless times.
1 -
They do make an interesting combo though XD
1 -
Very true
1 -
I think it takes too many perk slots to combine them XD I wish Premonition worked like Spine Chill, no cooldown, or had a unique token system.
