Killer Ranks
I constantly get a 3k-4k and guard gens and hooking everyone at least twice, but still only black pip.
Can this ranking system for Killers please be adjusted?

I play Nurse/Wraith/Huntress at Purple/Red rank usually. There is just too much counter-weight to your emblems. If the game is speedy no matter if you kill them all and get 32k you still black pip. It is just purely inconsistent.

Yes, the devs have stated the amount of BP you get has nothing to do with pips. If you play Killers like Trapper, Hillbilly, LF ect, you get punished HEAVILY in emblems for using your power. You have almost no control over Gatekeeper, or Maliciousness. Limited control over Devout. Chaser is just stupid in its detection.

Yes, I can agree another thing with chaser is once you hit them it creates a new chase which you then lose because of their sprint burst (Most of the time)
In general hitting and healing are counter weighted so it actually encourages tunneling since the person couldn't heal it gave you more points for the emblem. Yes, and we wonder why tunneling/camping is becoming so prevalent when it is rewarded > fun games and pressure.

The whole point system seems to be messed up. I mean, the point of killer is to kill, right? Why can't I at least get one pip if I 4k?

That's what bugs me. I've been playing Plague for the last week straight (Bamboozle just will NOT drop, even though I've rolled the web over two dozen times), and sure, I've had some bad games, but the majority have been decent, with at least two kills, and a few 4ks sprinkled in. Yet I'm usually black pipping, just because.

See, I just got out of a match. I had nine hooks. I busted seven gens, broke five pallets, had about two minutes of chase time. Was even able to bring corrupt purge online three times. Killed two, one in basement. Yet because the final two had a key and escaped, I black pipped. It's absurd to go through all the work, yet told 'you weren't good enough.'

I have this problem with a lot of killers I play. Hag, billy, and plague seem to have that problem, while clown and legion don't. It's frustrating to destroy a group of survivors and get rewarded with a black pip

Legion is an odd bird, I have to be careful, I often pip with no kills ... It makes no darn sense.

Emblems are so bad. If you kill everyone you should pip. That's the entire base goal of the killer side, is to kill everyone. Whatever's necessary to routinely kill everyone at purple/red ranks, that really ought to be what the game's scoring mechanics consider to equal a +1 pip.
Same for survivors who make it out of the exit gate alive, really. Don't safety pip me because I didn't get chased enough or whatever.

Also, it doesn't help that you need an Excel spreadsheet to make heads or tails of exactly how actions are scored in what categories. It's like the whole thing was designed by engineers, with no thought to how the end user will engage with it.

Killer: 4k=+2. 3k=+1. 2k=0 1k= -1. 0k= -2.

Rank system for survivors: you have 4 objectives, each one giving you 1 pip if accomplished.
Objectives:
- escape alive from the match
- have at least 120 seconds of chase
- at least one unhooked survivor by you have to escape alive from the match
- healed survivors by you have to complete a total of 6 objectives
So the score at the end of the match is:
4 obj=+2; 3 obj=+1; 2 obj=0; 1 obj=-1; 0 obj=-2

You still don't get it do you? It's not about the pips, it's about how unfun and stressful as killer it is in high ranks. Which by the way I also say in that thread you included.

I don't really care about ranks. Cause I just play what killer I want to play as. If I pip great or if I depip I don't care at all.
I try to stay at ranks 12 to 16 and that's only as high as I go. If I go higher then great.
P.s I agree:D pips should be changed.

thats why i stopped caring for rank.
as a trapper main, you will constantly depip anyway, since 2 out of 4 emblems (chaser and malicious) dont work with your traps.
ive had 4ks with no chaser emblem at all. because i used my traps.
another thing is, that the two emblems that DO function are the two hardest to obtain!
gatekeeper as trapper? good luck they finished 2 or 3 gens by the time you got your setup running.
devout? heh. no. not since trapper is all about defending a hook and punishing rescue attempts. you CAN obtain it, but even that wont save you from the other 3 emblems missing

Yep I don't care about the ranks too:) I just play for fun and if I depip fine.
