Strict slugging only

I just played a survivor game recently where we were against a Billy who ran knockout and strictly slugged, never tried to hook anyone. He did get a 3k as he slugged us enough times that we just bled out (he dropped the last survivor on hatch, also this is green ranks, yes I know I'm bad at survivor) is this a legitimate strategy that you can pip with? Or does not getting any points for sacrifices and hooking prevent you from piping and he was just messing around?

Kinda curious because it seems like a fun and out of the norm way to play, despite losing I actually really enjoyed that game as it felt different and fresh for some reason

    At green ranks, he probably got a black pip, probably less than 18k bp for sure. At purple and reds it'll be a depip. Sacrificing and hooking is a big part of the emblem system and a ton of points
