It happened to me several times this weekend. So annoying. Literally lost a game because of it happening 2 times in a row.

Yes the phantom hits r killing me right now and I’m also losing games because of it .

what is happening is that the chainsaw stops as if it hit someone and it didn’t hit anything but air . It’s bugged bad

Yeah the chainsaw is quite finnicky. Nothing worse than getting those false chainsaws. I had 2 in a row once. Had to stop and take a breather after that.
On the other side though it sucks being hit with the chainsaw when you cleared the wall or obstacle completely, but still get hit and your body lands in an area where getting hit seems like it would have been impossible.
Would be nice if the chainsaw could be a bit more consistent.

Same issue than false hits...
Always been a double issue with Billy.

I used to have very few false chainsaws after they made the hitbox even bigger like 4 months ago, but couple patches ago false hits came back in force.
