So When Can We Get The Ability To Kick Teammates From The Hook?
Title basically says it all.
We need something to stop us from getting farmed.
I suggest giving survivors the ability to kick people away from unhooking them as well as giving hooked survivors a nearby notification when someone with Barrowed Time comes near them (similar to Leader, Streetwise, We'll Make It, etc.).
Nobody likes to be farmed and this sounds like a simple fix that would only piss off greedy players.

So that salty teammates can lure me over and refuse the help, because they dont know if I have BT or well make it or any other stupid reason they want to troll?
Noty.
Youre only ever farmed with unsafe unhooks. This wouldn't stop that, it would simply give the killer 2 people because had they been able to save you and you kicked them, they're now ######### as well as you still being hung.

Word.
Also, DS exists. It’s a band-aid, but a good one.
1 -
Hopefully never, it used to sound like a good idea, but thinking about it more, it will be used like @Carpemortum says, people will just not let you save just to get you killed.
5 -
I like this, if you die farming your teammate then you deserved it. Maybe you will learn not to be a douche and then we wouldnt need this ability
1 -
Yep, when I go solo its kindred and DS at least. Even if I dont need them, it's nice to have in case the randoms are ALL randoms, or if a rushed save has to happen.
I just wish I could counter bond users that use me as bait during their chase.
0 -
It will stop that. If someone comes up to me to farm, I can kick them away. They get chased instead of farming me. Problem solved.
0 -
When you die because you werent farming them, but they decided to kick you off anyway, is that gonna be fun or tolerable? Wed have threads every day about it.
Maybe an unsafe unhook is the only option. Maybe I have BT. Kicking away your savior because YOU perceive it to be a bad idea, is heavily abuseable and a tad selfish. I mean, they DID risk getting you, and unsafe farm unhooks dont grant wglf stacks.
4 -
And now you're both injured/hooked instead of having one run free while the other is chased.
That really sounds optimal to you?
3 -
If the killer isn't near me then them kicking me away won't get me killed.
0 -
So, it’s not farming.
0 -
Yes. That way someone could go for a save without being chased by the killer and the guy who wanted to farm me is getting punished.
0 -
That's what I was saying to them.
0 -
If you weren't farming them, then you wouldn't die.
2 -
Not a practical solution but being able to deter unsafe unhooks will help the camping problem, because why should a killer not camp when so many survivors will do unsafe unhooks withoug BT and speed up the sacrifice process.
0 -
It’s not farming if the killer is not near you, so why you would kick someone.
if the killer is near, then what @Carpemortum said.
0 -
Exactly. Now, if and when a killer camps, a survivor can't just farm their teammate in front of the killer.
0 -
Maybe only allow the "kick away" option within the killer's terror radius? Not a perfect fix, but helpful as it better targets the farmers and limits the options of salty hook-ees.
1 -
Or maybe give bp only for safe unhooks, all 1500 of them, instead of the “bonus” if the unhook is safe.
2 -
If it only effects the other survivor wouldn't the killer just wait it out for that easy second down or hook grab?
0 -
Would become such a troll mechanic. While i don't want Meg unhooking me in front of the killer without borrowed time, i'd much rather deal with that than someone blocking my unhook if i stopped working on the objective and wasting my time to save them.
Look how many stop you from healing them because they want to self care.
3 -
Then THREE people arent doing work.
This. If the killer isnt even near you, WHY WOULD YOU NEED TO KICK THEM AWAY.
3 -
You cant camp amd farm anyway. Unsafe unhooks reward ######### points and get both of you injured.
It's not as practical as you're making it out to be. If a killer is camping you, you're dead. Period. Because good survivors do work. IF someone tried to save you from a face camper, youd rather push them off and get you both caught?
I'm done trying to reason with a brick wall. Your situations do not exist, because if the killer isnt near, nobody is farming you, so its moot; and if he is near you, you're dead to camping, so why ######### you and your teammate? ESPECIALLY if you dont know wether they have bt or not. It could be two of you escaping, turned to 2 deaths because YOU kicked them away. Third, if they hit the saviour, after already camping you, you REALLY think theyll chase after injured bait and not just keep camping? Come on. Campers camp. Kicking away a possible save is just a dick move. Especially now that wglf only awards safe uhooks.

It would also promote every solo kicking away I a TR, rendering BT useless after long enough, because people wouldnt allow an unhook that close.

This.

The devs have thought of this and brought it up in a stream before, but they said it would allow the same amount of trolling from the other side.
The idea to disincentive this was separating the 1500 unhook points into 1000 for the unhook, 500 for the unhook being 'safe' (I personally would have prefer to see those reversed). They also put a harsh penalty on the benevolence emblem if the person gets knocked back down.
It is not going to happen and as others said that is probably for the best.
1 -
Hopefully never it would be abused...
0 -
SWF will abuse it.
0 -
Just gotta hope the killer will recognize your situation, be nice and kill the rest
Try and communicate with him

Killers can be a little dense sometimes. They're mostly non-verbal, so Sign Language is best. Try squatting up and down, or using your gesture options. That's the best way to get on his good side. 😏

You'd be surprised how many players are from Team Fortress 2 and respect survivors crouching over to them
If I see it I'll let you live 9 times out of 10

This is so fresh to me as yesterday I was getting 'saved' by a survivor who was being chased by the killer. And then the killer, who wasn't an idiot, moves into place and waited, then hit me before I could even take a step. I was good...I could have waited another 60 seconds for another survivor. I'd like them to remove any bloodpoints from unsafe hooks. Anytime I "unsafely hook" someone, I body block until the killer gives me a hit and hopefully buy the other survivor some time if the killer tunnels them.

This can work, but there needs to be a condition so survivors cannot troll you:
- If you're within the killer's TR then you can press the "Run" action to kick survivors who are trying to unhook you.
- BT perk grants immunity to being kicked, so you farm safely.
0 -
Can we also kick at the killers that try to face camp?
2 -
I dont like it. I play solo a lot, and let me tell you: if i am near someone getting hooked, i go to the rescue. I usually do save unhooks, or, if thats not possible, i bait the killer and tank for the one unhooked.
But in a lot of situations, being solo, you are not the only one on the hook. And i think if a one of a 2-swf is hooked, and hia mate and a random comes for a rescue, he would simply kick the random away to give his mate the points.
After a short while, if that were to happen, i would simply not go for unhooks anymore. Go for a full stealth build, and take the hatch when the 3. survivor dies. Might change the whole game dynamic.

Just run DS.
Simple.
1 -
Never leave home without DS. Solves alot of the farming problem.

Like Ash?

I have to disagree and agree with you there. While DS is great at giving you a second chance if you get farmed, you shouldn't need to equip a perk that covers up a teammate's poor decision. :)
That's why there are perks like BT so you can safely farm a teammate.
0 -
Would you look at that survivors are also toxic to other survivors. That's a terrible idea for a perk.

I'm hoping for the kick mechanic to not only cancel an unhooking but also to allow me to plant my foot in Rin Yamaoka's face when she gets to close on her needless patrolling spree. I could however settle with kicking Pig, Ghostface, and Freddy if Rin doesn't feel like being kicked.
In short, I hope a kick works like Head On. It prevents someone from interacting with me and it can stun a killer if too close.
Even though I'm advocating for something pretty radical (probs won't happen in-game all that often), I don't think kicking should be allowed past the first hook stage. At that point, a hooked survivor is completely in the hands of everyone else's benevolence.
