Macros ok or not?
I would love to use macros to spare my keyboard during struggle phase/wiggle. I’ve seen several Fog Whisperers use it and talk openly about using it, so I’m guessing BHVR is alright with it. I still want to be on the safe side though: are macros ok or not?

@Inji Thanks for the response! But why is it that Fog Whisperers can break your rules of conduct without any repercussions?

They are not breaking anything. You can set keyboard or mouse macro without installing anything, just in your k/m settings.

except a macro is used by dictating a specific set of keyboard or mouse input commands in a specific order and timing so using one would count your keyboard and mouse software as a macro software and thus would be breaking the ToS you agreed to

actually they can when u set up a repeating macro its done with set intervals between button key presses and by using the macro theres the same exact interval between the same keys every time u use the macro its very easy for game programs to detect this many games can and do ban for using macros

I think the rule above is to prevent players from using macros etc to gain an unfair advantage in the game.
Macros for space spam and wiggle should be fine, since there is a limit to how fast you can perform these actions.

Honestly, this is one of the most annoying things in the game - to jerk off a keyboard space for a whole minute, it does not give me any sense of tension or anything else, it's just annoying. It would be much better to do 10 skill checks during this time, for example. Missing once - you're a corpse.

I asked eac back then via email and they said they don't care about those type of macros. So you should be fine.

Well how would you do that on a laptop? Sometimes there is no way around but to use software for macros.

No one should have to use macros to deal with wiggling or struggling in the first place. Any game that requires spamming a key is just bad design.

And here we are 3 years later of constantly mentioning this and asking the devs to change it.

No but they want us to feel anxious. Unfortunately their idea for that is not by making us scared in the game, but by making us scared that our expensive equipment will break, or that we'll die in game because of a ping spike.

well if its hook struggle thats an issue, you can always switch to Mouse Wheel Down. Never liked A D for shoulder wiggle tho...
