Is De-ranking worth it?
I don't typically do it, but I've been considering it the past couple days. At the higher ranks I have insanely long queue times just to get dodged by a killer. That being said, red ranks typically have the same 3/4 killers (nurse, billy, spirit and an occasional Huntress), and I'm tired of playing against them as well. I've also noticed that in I have come across way more lag switchers than I usually do at red rank recently.
Basically, I'm just tired of the bullshit and I want to know if it is something I should go through with.

From red ranks? YMMV.
From Purple? No.

No, de-ranking isn’t worth it.

Absolutely not worth it.

I can only say that the lower ranks are much more enjoyable than the highest ranks... by far. More variety in killers, less try hards, a bit less toxicity on average and a bit longer matches than just "genrushing" the ######### out of every game.

Depends on the person asking.
You sound like you're starting to hate, and games should be entertainment.

There is no benefits at the season end for being high rank.. so there is no incentive to be in red ranks unless you are trying to play as sweaty as possible. I personally like to balance in the low yellows and high greens because they're just more casual ranks to be at. I can play any killer i want to on any given day and not be worrying about getting absolutely crushed. On the survivor side id say yellow ranks are garbage.. green is the sweet spot for finding competent team mates and statistically less toxic killers

I agree. I play this game because I enjoy it, but recently it has been the same killers repeatedly running the same four perks. It gets dry after a while. The only problem is, you sacrifice good teammates and a lot of time when you de-rank.

Believe it or not, while ranking up I find a majority of people who try to bully a killer are very bad at it and go down almost immediately. It may be the platform I play on though.

As a killer who de-ranks, I'll share this point of view:
I started playing in 2016, took a break mid 2017 and picked it up again late 2018.
The customization aspect of this game is what appeals to me the most, so naturally it's my goal to unlock every perk on every character.
Unlocking things is a grind and a not always fun one at that.
Until I unlock everything and am able to play the game with 100% customizable characters, this game is about grinding. And the key to efficient grinding is optimized time management.
For me that means running two key killer perks, Rancor and BBQ.
I usually try to one hook and then let everyone go except the obsession, who I'll try to murder in glorious fashion once gens are done(which happens quickly cuz I don't run ruin), it's actually a pretty fun metagame as they will often try to protect the obsession and I'll do my best to get em.
Climbing ladder rn is stupid because the matches take longer in both wait lobbies and actual games and only a handful of killers are viable at those ranks, not to mention the fact that there is no reward for running tougher trials.
The strat I utilize keeps me in the 15-20 range as killing a survivor and sacking no one always yields either a safety pip or a negative pip, matches take anywhere from 8-15 min. And I pull in 40k -50k bp for my trouble, all while having fun and keeping my blood pressure low.
Maybe when I finally unlock everything(or they incentivise it somehow) Ill go for the red ranks, until then I'll enjoy the game this way.

To bully low rank players? Now think.... what if you were that low rank player. Would you like to get bullied by high rank players? No?

Getting back into the game, being red ranks again worries me.
I haven’t played in so long I started as R18 Survivor. Rank 9 after two days and 10 hours of play.
The games have actually not been bad.
I think playing at the really low ranks is unfun because typically, everyone including the killer are so new. In the green ranks, people tend to be well enough experienced. Not too many sweaty survivors or killers either.

This is a wonderful game to play, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do it right now.

Did you even read my damn thread? I clearly listed why I was considering it and this was not one of the reasons listed. Don't just assume that everyone de-ranks to be as toxic as possible to newer players.

just derank to use my toxic build (yes some killers called that toxic) plunders, bond, small games, hope xD
funny enough most players that de-rank (except small % of ppl that everybody think its majority which want easy games) just wants to play chill game, this game has no "normal" or "casual" queue, its only rank on which (funny enough) many ppl thinks its competitive game and sweat their asses of, and those deranking players would play casual mode to not worry about purple add ons or playing vs 3 killers all the time or vs mori every 4th game.
Imo deranking to at most R7 is fine (its rank on which im trying my best to stay and not rank up)
ofc to be clear, those who de-ranks to make killer feels miserable should get punished, but dont throw all ppl into the same box
so as long as there wont be 2nd que (for example without bringing items and add ons, and non bp offerings) ppl will de rank to have chill games without having to be slugged for 4 min because killer wants to 4k or without players for whose gens are before friends, BUT devs many many times told, player base is too low for 2 queues

That's what I'm saying! We shouldn't all be grouped as people who want to ruin the experience! As much as I would love a casual queue, I can see where they are coming from with the playerbase thing.

I didnt read the thread. I read your post.

Highly doubt that considering you had the nerve to impose that I was de-ranking so I could bully killers. Not everyone is this community is a toxic douchebag so it would be appreciated if you could stop grouping us together.

If you want BP then yes as a killer but no as a survivor.
Getting easier survivors is a great way to get easy chase points and such.
As a survivor this mean anything you'll do Will be harder bc of bad teammates.
Although, I met some terrible teammates who were rank 5 so.... -_(G_G)_-

Here on console I find that the higher rank survivors seem to be stupider than the lower ranks.

I don't like to trash consoles bc I use a PS4 but this is so true. The higher I go, the worst survivors become: much more selfish, selfentitled, trolls and even toxic.
At least at lower ranks even if ppl suck at least most of the time they are genuinly trying *as a team* to escape. Higher-ups are there so *they* survive ######### everyone else. It's even worst since the new hatch mechanic!

I play PS4 as well. What you described is exactly what it is like. Another reason I hate red rank.

I never made it to red ranks tbh but if it is anything like purple and green, this sucks.
I really like being in bronze with everyone bc (like ppl mentionned above) you get more types of killers, survivors, builds, etc.
Even some you probably would have never thought about!
I'm currently 12 and raising (didn't have time with school) and already I get lvl 5 to 8 survivors and ######### is already hitting the fan.
Not as a killer but as a survivor which shouldn't be.
