Sadly for some reason I can't really figure out what oblivious means for there new status effect. Like I know the definition of it but the status effect I don't understand, if anyone can help me and tell me a quick and easy way of what it can do and means pls do so <3

when a survivor is oblivious, this means they are deafened and can’t hear the killers Terror Radius but they also are not therefore affected by perks that are activated in the killer’s terror radius, such as Unnerving Presence and Infectious Fright.
So, we saw in the ST reveal a survivor destroying a portal, and this makes them oblivious (to the killer coming) - so it is the risk of destroying the portal, that you could be taken by surprise by the killer.

ohhh I see so basically its a good thing for the killer also?

Does oblivious only affect with Demogorgon portal?
Does other killers/perks also affect in next patch or future update/rework?
Very sorry if i miss something important on stream

Oblivious is a good thing for the killer, not a good thing for the survivor. Yes, you gain immunity to terror radius based perks, but these aren’t as common anyway, and it means that non-stealth killers can sneak up on you

Basically if you are oblivious you cannot hear the killers terror radius and, by extension, cannot be impacted positively or negatively by terror radius based perks (examples of such include Stake out, Diversion, overwhelming presence. Unnerving presense. Infectious fright. And probably other perks I'm forgetting.)
It has the upsides of making sure certain killer perks don't work, but bc a killer who plays around oblivious will obviously not use those perks, the only time I'd say it helps a survivor is against infectious fright (that is, if a killer even uses it). In other instances, Surviviors that are oblivious are largely debuffed.

Essentially if you destroy a portal you have Mike Myers coming for you. The bonus to destroying a portal is no terror radius effects. If you keep your eyes on the killer then destroying a portal will become a bonus for survivors. ☺

I'm a survivor main and I can tell you this killer perk is gonna make me paranoid since I won't be able to sense the killer coming. Definitely a good one for killers

Freddy also gets oblivious when your asleep.

Just think T1 Myers basically, but just zero TR even if he's close enough to touch you.

When you are affected by Oblivious, the killer's Terror Radius no longer exist for you.
This mean that you no longer hear the heartbeat and that killer or survivor perks that interact with the TR don't work for you. You cannot be affected by something like Coulrophobia or Unnerving Presence, but you also can't use Borrowed Time or Stake Out.
There are currently only 2 killers that can inflict Oblivious. The Demogorgon when you stand close to one of his portals and The Nightmare when you fall asleep.

Wait that means Freddy is the new best camper...

Asleep and therefore Oblivious survivors can still hear Freddy's nursery rhyme. It's not his Terror Radius. It's a sound cue that emmanate from Freddy that you can only hear when you are in the dream world.

But as you said, BT does not work while not in TR, Oblivious survivors are not in TR, and no one really wakes themselves up anymore.

@Atrushan88 I think this update is a very big hint from the devs that maybe survivors should consider waking up more often against Freddy. 😴

Really annoying how they decide to give Freddy who is already good at tunneling oblivious making him nearly immune to borrowed time. :/

I mean he has an addon combo where you're pretty much screwed if you don't. The only thing is that add on is ultra rare+ very rare and has a huge tell when you're using it. The issue is, if you're focused on waking up so much, you don't win, because Freddy is a damn good killer whether you're asleep or awake. You trying to walk halfway across the map just slows the game too much and survivors waking you up is too damn slow after the first time, and the only other way is to reveal yourself to him and then he gets to teleport to where you are. Not waking up is the better choice.
That said if multiple asleep people are all on one gen I will intentionally fail a skill check to wake us all up. That's the only time I'll intentionally try to wake up. And I obviously don't do that if he has Red Paint Brush.

This is nothing new. Survivors have been oblivious for a long time.

Survivors already can't use Borrowed Time while sleeping before the oblivious status effect is put into current patct.
Borrowed Time already said that it's only worked when the survivor is in the terror radius, so it won't work with Freddy's lullaby or Huntress's lullaby.
So devs didn't buff Freddy, they just give the clear information to the survivors side that you really can't use the terror radius base perks while sleeping.

This is untrue. Before this update, Freddy still produced a TR that was unheard by sleeping survivors. This unheard TR WOULD affect all survivors in it with the effects of perks, whether they were asleep or not. Perks altering the size of the TR could affect the unheard TR, but not the Lullaby range. I did quite abit of testing on this when Freddy got reworked. This is a buff.
