"Facecamping and Tunneling will drive away ST fans."

Meanwhile multiple instaheal SWF squads are running rampant in the yellow ranks gen rushing with voice coms. Multiple purple and red ranks paired with a single rank 15.

Oh well, trying be nice to new players with subpar killers and builds because I haven't played for two rank resets was a kind thought while it lasted.

    @BlueFang

I think @Tzeentchling9 is ranting about (probably survivors) some people whining and spreading some typical anti camping/tunneling propaganda in the name of caring for the StrangerThings sheeple/newbies drawn in by the new dlc.

I can understand the OP though.@Tzarl@Tzarl

This is off topic somewhat, but you guys are on something else.

When i started playing again 3 days ago I was rank 18. I queued with my red rank friend, and I hosted.

We consistently ended up in Rank 10-8 games. Which to me confirms it’s still based off of the SWF average rank.

Ah I see. I mean it is to be expected there's a ton of really lame players that want to bully on either side

You'll see this in every game, but especially DBD as the developers have refused to fix the de-ranking exploits every side can use. Especially the exploit where SWFs can go to grey ranks if they queue with a low level account.

That stuff is just really dumb and it shouldn't be that difficult to fix I know I ran into a few of those guys when I first played the game in October but I never encountered too many and the ones I did just played along

Adapt or leave the game. ST fans will just have to get used to it and adapt like everyone else on both sides.

The devs have confirmed that lobbying is currently weighted toward the host's rank, rather than the average of the SWF.

Haven't seen much 'genrush', but there's been a lot of four man sabo teams - which just makes me laugh. Then again, this killer main doesn't typically deal with green ranks for long.

As for facecamping/tunneling, they're the tactics of cowards who don't really care about emblems or skill. It wouldn't scare me off, it'd just make me feel sorry for the killers who need them, like NOED.

why would you listen to the community to dictate your playstyle?

Play to win and winning is fun.

Besides who cares if those ST fans leave or dislike the community after getting backhand game after game.

People didnt care for those who complained about how hard Dark Souls was why should this scenario be any different.

They just need to get good.

Just run NOED, then mock them for being scrubs and not clearing totems.

You can still be nice (if you want to) even though you run strong killers/builds.

If you notice you're in a match of newbies you can play around with them as they are quite easy to spot. Simple things that give them more of a fighting chance like giving them an extra chance here and there, not going for the potential game-ending slug chain in front of you, that sort of thing.

You're of course under NO obligation to actually do this and I don't mean to imply that at all, it's absurd to complain about people playing normally even if it leads to utterly crushed newbies. If you do that you'll rank up and away from them naturally. I fully agree that people that intentionally try to squeeze into ranks they don't belong in specifically to grief newbies (or regular low rank players for that matter) are completely uncompetitive scumbags, but until avenues of deranking and the way matchmaking handles SWF parties with rainbow rank spreads are fixed it's not really an issue that can be resolved.

You can choose how you act, but sadly we can't choose how cowardly scumbags act.

Well, this isnt a stranger things game. This game has camping and tunneling. If they're here for one single ip, they're gonna have a bad time.

Also, the matchmaking won't be perfect or even close for another few months.

Right now it's to help with potatoes vs pros.

    Which it does relatively well.

New players come, go and stay with every new chapter. Nothing new.

I mean, this just proves that most swf arent the super pros people say they are. They're over altruistic, fool around DCers.

Hopefully with the Stranger Things Chapter comes the new killer matchmaking that is tied to your ability with each killer instead of your ability as a killer in general.

(Currently, if I reach high ranks with Nurse, then decide to switch to Leatherface, I'm going to get smashed as Leatherface. However, with the new matchmaking, my weak Leatherface won't be matched with the same survivors my strong Nurse would.)

Who even hopes to retain a large percentage of players who come because of ST?

It's gonna be like most new chapters. Lots of new or returning people play, the playerbase spikes, then it returns to normal. We might see a few more players staying around, but I don't think they have hopes that high.

    That rank 4

Has Head on and Dead Hard. I'm not sure if he's actually a tactical genius or a complete fool

    Perhaps he is both

The new players will Iove the game. Once they get chased down, hooked, and a killer standing their nodding until or revving a chainsaw until they die, they'll be so glad they got the game.

Genrushing and unhooking will drive away players fanbase, it should be considered a bannable offense

Are you comparing Dark Souls a franchise that is well known to be the hardest game ever, to Dead by Daylight? Dark Souls is based off skills and how well you can adapt. DBD ehhhh not so much.

Both sides are at fault. When the newbies come in, whichever side they choose to play on will suffer on the sheer amount of smurfs, trolls, de-rankers, ochido-wannabes and other filth that infest the lower ranks.

They won't stay for long and Behavior will receive a lot of negative reviews thanks to it. But its something that they've done to themselves, not focusing on improving the general attitude of the community in time.

"Som man bäddar får man ligga", as we say in Sweden.

    Let's be real.

People who decide to buy Dead by Daylight just for Stranger Things, will leave the game in a couple of weeks anyways. only a low percentage of players who really like the game will stay. Facecamping, tunneling and toxic swf won't change anything. We liked this game even if we got facemped or stomped by swf, I'm sure they will as well.

I'm a self considered survivor main on console and I rank up and down frequently and currently I'm at like r3. (I still play killer just not as much. Plague and Doctor mainly, get 3-4k most games.)

I play solo half the time and SWF the other half and let me tell you, solo is a PAIN IN THY BUTTOCKS. Most of my friends, met through playing the game, never reach purple ranks let alone red. Does that mean I should stop playing with them because the devs are incapable of finding a solution to this problem?

When friends aren't on, I'll find a community party. There you'll find people of every rank in any given party. I can't help what rank they are and people act like I do it on purpose to bully killers when that couldn't be further from the truth.

You wouldn't believe the amount of messages I get from killers when a game is over about how I'm a scum bag for using low rank people to get to low rank killers, even when they kill me because, yes, it happens, I'm decent but I'm no God and they don't realize I have to rely on a team full of people who are actually THEIR rank or lower and play just as poorly or worse even though we're talking. I can't do everything for my team and half the time they can't do anything for me.

I do however agree gens go by faster than I ever realize. It's not so much 'gen rushing' as it is lack of control on gens or map pressure the killer has and in most cases it's a result of a killer not knowing when to end a losing chase out of spite and patrol the gens instead. I'd like to see either more gens or gens taking a little longer to do or another objective in general. I can see it being overwhelming if you're already not doing well, but I think that would be better than it being as underwhelming as it is now.

Recently had a KILLER r13 nurse, we even talked after the match where I commended them on their r1 skills even though they threatened to mori me because they 'mori all Janes'. They held up their promise... but I gave them a good fight for it.

The fact that no one has actually said the exact words that were quoted on the title of this thread, makes me think this is just another bait post.

How about let’s show possible future new players that both of those ‘tools’ are part of the game and that not everyone uses them as a means of trying to be toxic.

I don't think there is anything we can do, i don't think this ST dlc is going to go the way the devs think it will. In fact it might make things worse.

Let's be honest, both sides can be douchebags. Stop blaming the other role.

Because thats how people work. If you do something someone doesnt like there gonna complain about it whether it matters or not. And there is people out there who truly just play this game to ruin the enjoyment. And thats a big issue with this game and people will leave just because of that, and no one enjoys playing a dead game. Take that into consideration please.

You literally don't get every match that exact, so they will know that its just against there luck and will continue

If anything kills this game, it'll be casual players such as myself who quit playing after getting sick of constantly playing against much higher level SWF squads. Who needs it? When the fun ends, the customers leave.

    lol sounds exaggerated but okay.
