The science of Save the Best For Last?
A lot of people that I talk to mention that it is a waste of a perk slot. Is it at bad as people say it is? When I run STBFL the cooldown is noticeably at 6 stacks and beyond, and it feels extremely quick compared to the normal cooldown. Does it actually benefit in finishing chases faster, or is it just a novelty at best?

Niche perk. Not garbage, but definelty not worth a perk slot. There are so many perks outlcassing it miles away that I never saw a reason to use it + when you get very unlucky you will have obsession players bodyblocking etc and you have no real effect of that perk.

I've always ran STBFL along with Ruin, BBQ, and PGTW on my main Freddy. Any other perk suggestion that can replace STBFL?

Enduring (+ spirit fury), sloppy, monitor and abuse (underrated af for some reason)... I would go even so far to say brutal strength (and the benefit from that isn't even that big)

As a Myers main, I use it and I get 4K's everytime...
So it's just based on how you play I guess.

Probably, I love STBFL and it seems decent on M1 killers.

Monitor is borderline useless on Freddy since your Lullaby range is fixed at 32 meters while the survivors are asleep, no matter what perks you use.

The recent rework changed that.
Survivors in the Dream World hear the lullaby instead of the heart beat from the Terror Radius. So the lullaby is no longer fixed, like Huntress' is.

So when you hit someone they get a boost of speed and a lot of time they make it to a window or a loop and that cooldown prevents you from continuing the chase, you literally stop moving and then keep going when you're done. STBFL at 8 stacks makes this less punishing, that stop is more of a slow and when you have someone go for a save at the hook you can down the Rescuer AND the RESCUED with 2-3 swipes all in quick succession. This moment at the hook is when you see its benefits the most and why I sometimes run this perk on my Basement Builds because I have so much speed I can usually down everyone down there.
I would say STBFL is a good perk to use if your other 3 perks are a build in themselves. For Example Enduring + Spirit Fury is a combo, STBFL, and then Ruin makes a complete build for Pallets, Gens, and Speed. STBFL is a bonus perk to add to a build of 2 or 3 perks.
Agitation and Iron Grasp=Basement Build of 2 perks, anything after these two is a bonus because your entire playstyle revolves around the Basement. STBFL is for downing everyone down there and Devour Hope is a bonus treat to let them they're ######### and that your boot is theirs to suck on. In this case STBFL was 100% ok to put in your slot because your entire build consisted of 2 perks leaving breathing room for STBFL.

The Lullaby IS still fixed at 32 meters. Ive tested this since the rework. Even if your TR becomes 0, the survivors can still hear your Lullaby at 32 meters.

im just picturing someone basement camping with insidious and wondering why its not working.

I sometimes run I on my wraith the free hit at gen is amazing then you add in the fact that at 8 stacks you've downed the surv before they get to a pallet Id say yes its is 100% good at finishing faster

Just makes it easier to down them, get atleast 2-3 stacks back when people try to pick them back up then you can hook and kamp the noob who thought they were smarter than you then you can easily get your 8 stacks kill your obsession and have the 8 for the rest of the game

I typically dont think too hard about who I'm hitting. If the obsession wants to get in my way, I have no problem getting free hits.

I agree really unless I'm using this perk or playing GF I don't pay attention to who is what survivor.

If you are playing on a rank where you face good loopers, I suggest to take Bamboozle.

I run it on my freddy, its not a bad perk at all. one of the best obsessions perk in the game. its good if you know how to keep stacks. and punishes grouped survivors very hard

I usually run STBFL on spirit, along with add-ons to reduce activation time. It works for me, I hit a survivor, and then immediately I get the second hit with enough stacks. Overall a good perk, it really shines on some killers.

Like wraith lol

I personally love STBFL
It's my favourite perk, thus my pfp
People say that it isn't worth using but it saves a lot of time and sometimes wins me a chase if I have enough stack
On Trapper and Amanda it's especially good. Obsession steps in a trap, you don't have to hit then and lose stacks. Pig, found the obsession, get close enough, crouch and ambush, you wont lose stacks.
I love that perk

STBFL is amazing on M1 killers without an instadown.
The amount of times it saved me from having to run another loop vs good survivors many, many times.
I particularly love it on Freddy because he's not as reliant on Enduring+Spirit Fury as other M1 killers, but it can realistically be used on any M1 killer. Again, if you have an instadown I don't like it that much, but if you don't it's great.

Freddys power naturally lets him shut down loops, unless your using addons for pallets instead of snares.
