Why are skillchecks not smoothly 60fps?
So the skillchecks are choppy most of the time. Sometimes they are really smooth and those are the cases I can actually hit them easily. Other times, the needle is "jumpy" which makes it impossible to hit them with your skill/timing, you just press and hope it's gonna land on it.
Vsync is disabled ingame but also via nvidia settings. I had fps once locked at 60, but also unlocked up to 80+ fps. In both cases, the needle was never consistently smooth.
Btw I always made sure that my fps wasnt dropping during skillchecks, I have a fps counter on my screen.
So, what is up with that?

Can't say I've ever had the needle be choppy enough that I couldn't land a skill check. Anytime I miss it's cause I messed up.

They have add 60FPS Skill Check once, and it was so good, for some reason they removed some time after...

Yeah I remember something like that a long time ago. Was the reason ever mentioned?

They never talked about it, also it was a undocumented change, probably because it came with the Unreal Engine update, so maybe was a side effect of upgrading the Engine.

I have had my skillcheck miss before because it was pretty much teleporting around before and I literally said "I am just not gonna work on gens"

@Peanits can we have a statement about that? Because I think I remember seeing in the patchnotes that skillchecks are 60fps now and it was awesome but out of the sudden it became choppy again (feels like having skillchecks with 30fps or less)

The UI rendering is somehow not exactly in sync with main game thread I guess so when you don't achieve solid 60fps it stutters

yeah i partially get completely stable skill checks sometimes, yet other times the skill check needle skips frequently and it's hard to determine whether or not im going to land the great
