2 minutes in, 3 gens done.

But Dead by Daylight isn't a competitive game like Overwatch for example. It can't just be balanced around the best. That would cause some serious problems for this game. You can't just ignore people who play at lower ranks. Especially since survival rate drops the lower you get in ranks.
Also, it depends on the loops on that side of the map whether weaker killers would have had a harder time downing that survivor. If anything, it's a flaw of the map design that doesn't allow weaker killers to apply enough map pressure to have any chance of defending those gens while also downing survivors fast enough. Or because the low tier killers are considered low tier for a reason, and could use some small individual buffs, preferably that help them in chase or map pressure, whatever they lack.

Had a game as doctor tonight. Game must have leasted 7 or 8 minutes. Ruin up the hole time. I hooked everyone at least once. They didn't even have toolboxes. Just well coordinated.

He didn't leave the basement area once until the end of the game.
Hes playing nurse with the strongest build and lost the first person he started chasing who he found in the basement, this is by far the worst video to use as an example.
0 -
It doesn't matter how well the person did, they could be playing old freddy for the sake of the example. The fact is it isn't that the killer let it happen, its the fact that it can happen. So you should ask the question, should it be able to happen?
0 -
He applied ZERO pressure for an entire Minute & 45 seconds, SO YES it should be able to happen, there was no one coming off gens to save anyone because the players didn't have a reason too as the killer got juked.
0 -
It's not a good example, that's true. But he hooks one survivor, than finds the second survivor in that basement for some reason. He blinks out of it, to go towards where the generators got repaired, and then returns to the basement as soon as he sees that the survivors in the basement are getting unhooked. That isn't really camping to me, and it happens after the 3 gens pop.
I agree that it doesn't prove gen times are too fast though. It's just very hard to imagine that a low tier killer would have had any chance in that situation, with how large the map is, and how, if you are unlucky, the map can have some very safe pallet loops which weaker killers would have to deal with without being able to end the chase quick enough. Which probably is the main problem for many people. Weaker killers not having the tools to cope with gens going fast.

So the shear fact that survivors have the power to end a game in 3 mins is fine, taking into consideration most queues for killers at that rank is double, triple, sometimes even longer than that?
So if the killer either has a bad spawn, guesses wrong 1 time where survivors could be, or literally doesn't have the power to take away pressure from the gens for those 90 seconds or so, they just lose?
Welp, you guessed where people were wrong, I guess you lost the game.
I will say however 95% of games aren't like this, but those 5% really do show that in a competitive situation, all of the power is in the survivors hands and very little is in the killers, the so called "power role".
3 -
End the game in three minutes? He has an ebony mori and had he been competent with the nurse in this particular match had the absolute power to end it in three minutes.
He downs his first person at 1 Minute 45 Seconds. The match is over at around 5 minutes, he literally ended the game in 3 minutes, sure there were two disconnects, but it changes nothing as they left because they lost.
So from what you're saying, it's ok that killers can end games in 3 minutes, but god forbid a killer does poorly, and survivors capitalise on it. You're being completely biased, they didn't even end the game in 3 minutes, they still had 2 gens and a door to open, you're completely misrepresenting the entire match to make it seem like at the point the survivors had 3 gens done the match was already over.
1 -
Killers can end the game in three minutes, do killers need nerfs?
0 -
So a 2 minute chase = 3 gens and thats not a problem?
You can't pressure more than 1 survivor if you can't get a down in 2 minutes.
If you're in a chase with a good survivor and can't down them in 2 minutes then you might say go to another survivor thats on a gen to pressure them and get them off.
Well what if the survivor you just broke a chase to pressure is as good and can do a 2 minute chase?
You're in an even worse position for trying to pressure the gens and the person you left hopped on one.
2 -
Maybe try pretending he was playing Leatherface or Legion instead of the best killer in the game with the best add-ons/offerings?
2 -
LF would’ve downed the basement guy easily soooo

I don't care about this match in particular. I am talking about in general.
Because if we compare Nurse with omega blink and ebony mori, then we talk about 4 survivors with 4 insta heals and all meta perks playing at their absolute best.
Which will win? Who knows, who cares?
In general, a team of 4 survivors with basically nothing, no perks no items could physically get the exits powered in 3 min or less, 80 maybe 90 seconds for 4 gens with travel time, then another 60 for the last gen if multiple survivors can work on it.
My point is should survivors be capable of ending a game that fast? Maybe yes, maybe no. For a casual game, who cares since no way gens are getting done that fast. In a competitve game, maybe a tournament? That is when you start to question it, given the fact the killer would have to also run no add ons no perks. Obvious choice would be nurse, but the other 15 are just too bad to even stand a chance? Should only 1 killer be playable in a competitve DbD game?
All just questions I don't have the answer to, but ones that question the balance of the game. All coming from independent situations.
I could care less if this game the survivors literally cleansed all game, this was just a good place to bring up these questions to have people think about them.
2 -
And 3 gens would still be done as LF waddles to the other end of the map.
0 -
You should be defending one side, that bubba played dumb.
0 -
So camp the hook and the 3 nearby gens? Great. That'll lead to happy messages
0 -
Let them be salty, that proves that they can’t take a loss or they’re just poor sports in general.
0 -
But they end the game in 3 minutes because of the mistakes he makes with Nurse. Sure weaker killers might need almost as long as that if the map rng is bad for them, and can't pressure gens nearly as well if they don't have any ability to close large distances fast enough, but even then that's just a problem of map design which is already going to get adressed in the future. Or a problem of low tier killers, but if so they would just need to be buffed individually, and probably not by much once we've got map reworks.
2 -
I'm not watching the video because its stupid to post one game and go "SEE IMBALANCE SURVS TOO OP"
Games can turn around if three gens pop fast, the killer needs to be better at applying pressure too if they're allowing this to happen. Spread the attention, spread the damage, apply pressure.
2 -
Perhaps if you can't down a survivor within 2 minutes you deserve to lose that match. You either got outplayed by the survivors heavily or were just victom to awful map design and rng and were playing one of the weaker killers. But that will be adressed with upcoming map reworks, and if that's not enough for the weak killers than they can be buffed a bit individually.
0 -
They end the game in 3 mins because they have the power to. The nurse not doing anything allowed it to happen, but it can still happen against any killer. The question is should be happen?
And with the weaker killers and bad map design, 100% agree. But some maps have been left in their sorry, unbalanced, and broken state for years. Haddonfield, rancid aborator, which they said the fixed and they accidentally created an near infinite.
Point there is the amount of maps that need fixing are many, and if they are releasing 2 map reworks this year and like... 8 need reworking, thats 4 years to fix every map.
But that is an issue for another time, many issue brought up here is should the survivors have the power to end the game in less than 3 min?
1 -
I mean if that's the way to go on that map? If that already is a viable strategy, just imagine how that strategy would become if the objective time was increased. It would end up being op.
1 -
I don't quite get it. Are you saying that survivors shouldn't be able to get ahead if the killers makes these kind of mistakes? That doesn't make sense. If a killer has the potential to do better and defend the gens before they all get repaired, than they should of course use that potential and get punished if they don't. They shouldn't be able to mess up and then still be able to win easily. If killers don't have the power to combat the gens being repaired, than they should be buffed individually, if they need those buffs after the map reworks.
Plus with Nurse, at least I believe so, he still would have had the chance to make a comeback anyway, even with the survivors playing optimally, and even if the Claudette wouldn't have messed up and get caught in the basement after he hooked the other survivor in the basement. Which is why I am happy she is getting some adjustments.

You dont know if this game would have ended in 3 minutes. What we know is, is that this game ended in 5 minutes, but not the Survivors won, the Killer with the unbalanced Build won.
I mean, it is very common that the first Gens would be faster than the last Gens. Survivors only need to do Gens at this point, they dont need to heal, they dont need to save anyone. They are also not involved in any chases, which means that the whole team is doing Gens. And they are not near the Killer to interrupt them. Vs any Killer except Nurse or Spirit, they also have all Pallets left on the Map.
When it comes to Endgame, Survivors are more clustered, which makes it easier for the Killer. They might also need to play more careful when they are on their last Hook. And again, vs. loopable Killers, Pallets are gone.
So yeah, there is no evidence that this game would have ended with the Survivors winning.
When I play Killer, I dont use Ruin. If I dont find a bigger Potato than me at the start, two Gens can be done until this point, but thats fine, because Killers become stronger the further the Match progresses.

Omega blink nurse that cant apply pressure. No issues about gen rush.
Nurse just did bad.

Going to tell you a secret. You ready? Here it comes : There are four Survivors! Shocking! I know right!?
You can’t honestly sit there and compare Survivor and Killer mistakes, and think it’s ANYWHERE NEAR fair. This is a 4v1, not a 1v1. You shouldn’t lose a game as Killer because you made a whole whopping 2-3 mistakes. Where as A Survivor who dies, guess what, there are THREE OTHERS who have to screw up too.
Why is it so many Survivors whine and moan and cite “but... but... ME!” Why is it Survivors only want the game to be team oriented when it’s beneficial, but once the team aspect becomes detrimental, they suddenly want the game to be balanced for a 1v1?
0 -
The funny thing is, he made those mistakes and still won in 5 minutes 🤔.
0 -
Wow, that is just unacceptable for the survivors being able to work on generators while another survivor is being chased. As a survivor main with 60 hours in the game at rank 17 i must apologise for my fellow survivors behaviour. they should just do something else with their time like sprint burst away and urban evasion around a tree every time they hear a heart beat.
0 -
Discordance?
0 -
You make 2-3 mistakes as a survivor and they don't matter because of second-chance perks :^)
1 -
You are assuming that mistakes from 1 Survivor do not affect the other Survivors. But this is not true, it is 100% possible that one Survivor screws over the whole Team. This can be someone doing a Gen to end up in a 3 Gen (like "Oh, this Gen is on 99%. Better finish it, before the Killer comes back!") or non-optimal Chases ("The only Pallet on this Map has to be near the hooked Survivor, I will run the Killer around there").
But yeah, at least you are asking for easy 4Ks with a Killer which is messing up multiple Times... Sure, Killer has to be the Powerrole, but that does not mean that 4Ks should be given.

So Tru3

There are so many factors that can lead to gen rushing that you killer mains aren't taking into consideration. Obviously, if 3 survivors decide to do gens while 1 is being chased for 1 minute like in the video, then yeah, you're gonna get gen rushed if you don't do something about it. I'm not sure why you guys think this is a problem. If you're not doing anything about it, then expect it to happen. End of story. It really depends on what killer you're using and the perk build suited for their play style. There are a lot of perks that slows the game down like Corrupt Intervention, Sloppy Botcher, and Thanatophobia, just to name a few. Y'all already know how useful Ruin is so just use that instead. If you're not running any perks that slows the game down, then expect it to be shorter than usual. Now if you're taking too long chasing a survivor, then just give up mid chase and go for someone else that's less capable of looping or mind gaming you. This'll get you hooking a survivor much faster, which will apply some pressure. Slugging applies pressure as well so do it if you see another survivor nearby. As for survivors, there are lots of things to do that'll get there minds off of gens, like opening chests, cleansing totems, sabotaging, flashlight saves, and healing. They can also use perks that'll help them survive in certain conditions like DS, exhaustion perks, Adrenaline, BT, and so on, or use some gimicky build like No Mither with Resilience, which can lower the chances of everyone surviving. It also depends on the map, which can either be killer sided or survivor sided. Teamwork is also a huge factor in surviving as you can get things done quicker if done together and saving each other, and then you got swf with voice chat that'll give them a huge advantage.
Now as for items and addons like instaheals or toolboxes being a problem, you can say the same thing for killer addons and moris.
Overall, rng has a pretty big impact in DBD, which is why you'll have some games where survivors hardly get any gens done or you get games like Tru3Ta1ent's in the video so this isn't something the devs can control much. This means that matches can favor one side or the other randomly and you can't really do much about it. Also, there will always be games where you play like sh*t while you do good on others. In this case, Tru played like sh*t in the video.

I feel like the real issue here is since Tru3 is a popular streamer many people can't accept that he just played horribly.
3 -
So showing a vid, where the killer does a 4k even though there are 3 gens done fast is your indicvator for gens are done too fast? Serious? I just hate these killer biased double standards.
1 -
You make 2-3 mistakes you can gain additional chances vai running certain perks*
Fixed :)
0 -
Yeah and you can say the same for killers as they can make gens slower by running Ruin, Pop goes the Weasel, or Corrupt Intervention.
0 -
Okay so we have the basement guy downed as LF... almost 4 gens are completed with the 5th being at about 20-25% complete and the 1st hook just happened............. now what?
0 -
Those dont make up for mistakes dude pop goes the weasel doesnt combat this type of shiet and this vid is evidence of that...
0 -
Okay then he could've ran Ruin or Corrupt Intervention instead. He got punished for committing to the Claud, which took too much of his time. He could've just went for someone else that isn't as good or pressure the gens.
0 -
Maaybee corrupt intervention could have help but as players say ya shouldn't have to run a perk to get a decent amount of time in the match.... these players as tru3 stated wanted to make the killer feel powerless, ruin wouldn't have helped and leaving to chase someone else would have only allowed the first claud to finish the gen...
That's my diagnosis of it.
0 -
If gens get done this fast, it probably means that the survivors are gonna 3 gen themselves so the killer could come back from this.
0 -
He didn't need Ruin or Corrupt Intervention to get a decent amount of time. Like I said earlier, the reason why he got gen rushed was because he kept missing the Claud with his m1 too much and yet he kept committing. If he just left her and defended the gens, it would've bought him some time. Not sure how Ruin wouldn't have helped in this situation as survivors are forced to hit great skill checks that don't give a bonus to gen progression, which is also pretty difficult to hit consistently so they're prone to f*ck up a few times. Also, someone would have to cleanse the Ruin to get rid of the effect which means they're not on a gen for the time being. Overall, this is a Nurse we're talking about. She's the best killer in the game for a reason so if he's struggling to even land a hit with megablink addons for that long and have 3 gens done in 2 minutes, then he's definitely doing something wrong.
0 -
So in order for this to be okay you must run nurse with mori every game? :@
0 -
Fun fact: if this video wouldn't be from a streamer then nobody would give a #########.

I think the main point of many is that if this would have been a much weaker killer than Nurse, than playing optimally could possibly still result in these gens being done so fast. Killers like Wraith, who aren't very strong in chases, or Clown, who has awful map pressure, would maybe be quite helpless in these situations.
0 -
That wasn't my point at all. All I'm saying is that he made a lot of mistakes that cost them those gens to be completed. Simple as that.
0 -
They wouldn’t have been helpless though, people have to choose a side to defend on big maps like this, preferably the side without the killer shack and then cut chase if it last too long.
0 -
I just want to chime in and point out how comical it is that people say "defend gens" when there are 7 available to repair. The problem isn't gen speed or the bogus concept of early game gen pressure that so many here cling to. Hooks and slugs are actual gen pressure. It's a map and pallet amount/pallet safety issue. I'm not talking about the game in question here from Tru3. If you down and hook a survivor before a gen pops, you can win. Period. Problem is, smart survivors know they'll never run out pallets, and they also know that a relative lack of pallets doesn't matter if the killer hasn't accumulated many hooks by the time 2 gens are left. Can you find and drop safe pallets for 80 seconds to start a game? It's not that hard. 3 gens can be done in that span. My SWF has done it.
0 -
Wraith can actually be pretty good in chases as he can use Brutal Strength and addons to enable him to chew threw pallets very quickly while cloaked, and vault faster. I already said earlier that if killers have awful map pressure then use perks that give them pressure. I agree that they need certain buffs to make them more viable but at the moment, we don't have that so the only solution right now is to use perks that'll slow the gens down like Ruin and Pop goes the Weasel. This just means that these killer's HAVE to run these kinds of perks to even be viable while other killers with good pressure can run gimmicky builds and still do fine. As many pointed out already, the video the op posted wasn't a good example of gen rushing when the killer does everything right since Tru played like sh*t in the video.
