Pallets: Are they broken?

Hello, that's just a question, because sometimes I do not know how the Hitbox is.

Sometimes when I play as the Killer I am not able to hit survivors mid air while jumping over the pallet, but when I play as Survivor it happens really often that they hit me when I am on the other side..

I know this game since day one, but til today I do not know why this is sometimes so broken.

Is it really just the bad internet?

Is there a official hitbox graphic or time stamp where u have to press the button.

As I said it varys (haha GoT Joke)

That is a problem with the internet, yeah. You'll notice that it gets even more inconsistent with higher ping.

    One thing I personally noticed:

When I play killer and try actively to avoid the stun but kinda bait the survivors to drop the pallet I get stunned regardless. I'm visually far away from the stun, but I get stunned anyway. Either the hitboxes of pallets are broken or the first person visual perspective is broken.

It was annoying me for a long time (I think around spirit release when they changed killer hitboxes) but I never bothered to talk about till now.

@Peanits or @McLean can you look into it? Something is really weird with that and it can cost you the game when you play Huntress for example.

Part of it is ping issues, but there is some weirdness with the hitbox of the pallet as well.

Ive tested it in KYF, you can totally stun the Killer when they are off to the side of the pallet in a lot of places.

I've not noticed any issues. Maybe I'm just lucky.

It's just latency. Nothing that can really be done by the devs.

Palettes have hitboxes that are a bit wider than the actual palette themselves. So it is somewhat designed to hit in the way it does. That said, latency makes the game function inconsistently and that can make interactions look drastically different. The game in its current p2p matchmaking is trying to interpret what the kill and survivors sees best it can with the info packets its getting. So for killers who are the host they look like they've not reached close enough to be hit. For survivors you can appear as if you're right on the edge of the palette.

The game tries to sort out the discrepancy by going with a sort of middle ground response. That could be having the killer stun or the palette just drop early with no stun. It's also the same with getting hit through a palette drop. The game is trying its best to sync up to slightly or drastically uneven moments of interaction.

Yes they are, you break a pallet by pressing the respective button

Oh you mean hitboxes, i dunno

but other games make it, in this game it is extremely important to not get hit (by a pallet or the killer) but there are some problems anyways

It’s a big issue when you drop a pallet but still get hit through it... like, one of two things should happen... either they hit you or you block the hit with the pallet.

Pallet hitboxes have been weird recently.

EDIT: All hitboxes have been weird recently. It’s like something magically broke and ######### up the hitboxes.
