Hex ruin?
As a killer you must have Hex Ruin or otherwise survivors are doing gens within 5 minutes, im a rank 1 killer main nurse and i have hex ruin on her and i stamp most of my games, but sometimes i get tired of her and want to try in this case plague, on plague i dont have hex ruin but i do have about 30 cakes (thrid anniversary) and whenever i play a killer thats not nurse i use: Hex ruin, Brutal strenght, spirit fury and enduring, but in the end of it all there are still double pallets and there are still infinity loops in every map and survivors are trying to run to them as fast as possible and during this time they can use about 5 pallets and within those 5 pallets i have most certainly gotten a hit on them but not downed them and they are at the inifinity loop. And during all this times the others have done 4 gens and i still havent gotten a single hook (remember i dont have hex ruin this time) so im starting to stress out and i want that hook. When the inifnity loop is finally over and i get the survivor downed adrenaline kicks in and the survivor used the 14 other pallets remaining more or less in the map to finally escape, leaving me there without a single hook and with about 6k in points and the other survivors with about 15 to 20k each.
THIS IS WHY I MAIN NURSE, because its the only true way to stomp the survivors without breaking any "rule books" or being called a camper or a noob. Its the only way to win,
IT TOOK ME 200 HOURS to master NURSE, and for all of you that are struggeling with how mindgames or loops, go onto nurse while ur reading this, trust me u have time, to find lobbies takes about 10 minutes.

I don’t use ruin on the majority of my killers, I do just fine.

It does strain your back if you don't use Hex:ruin, but it isn't impossible either. I often do just fine without it, especially on killers who have good mobility.

Ruin is a crutch, like so many other things in this game for Killer. There are plenty of crutches for Survivor, don't get me wrong.
But it's not uncommon, in the games I've tracked over 90% of R1 Killers use Ruin. That's fine though, my Small Game Meg loves eating totems.

I love it when killers use ruin, greats aren’t hard to hit and totems usually go out fast. Wasted perk slot on most killers imo.

I destroy totems before I even touch a gen. Small Game is a sleeper perk. If it entered the meta, Ruin would fall heavily out.

I hope you keep using Hex Ruin. I always run small game as a survivor :) Ruin usually destroyed within 45 seconds

It's not necessary on the meta killers.
At least you're someway forced to do totems at all. Ruin is, even in a bad spawn, very useful to build up hook pressure with killers without mobility before three gens pop. Yes that happens to my poor Trapper regulary with Ruin+Corrupt Intervention LMAO.

Corrupt is anti synergy with ruin. Better play Discordance ;)

I wouldn't call Ruin a crutch. It just helps in slowing down the game, as any perk helps in some specific way, e.g. Spirit fury in chases or Barbeque for finding survivors and applying more map pressure. I feel like otherwise you could call many perks, if not at all, a crutch. It simply allows you to go for more chases and longer ones, but you still have to apply map pressure as well.

It gives you time normally not granted. There is a reason 90% of players at R1 in my experience are using the perk.

Proof hexes need some kind of change to stop them from going out within the first minute of the game

Honestly I don't rarely use ruin anymore and my most played killers are ghostface, Myers and Freddy now. It's borderline useless at high ranks, and pop goes the weasel is just better. If anything discordance is a better perk imo to prevent gen rushing.

The folks who says they're doing just fine without hex ruin, what killers are you playing and what ranks are you? im at rank 1 atm and i am forced to play nurse to maintain that rank otherwise im screwed lol.

And I also play killer part time and don't use Ruin (except on Trapper) and do just fine without it

Hex totems were made to be high risk high reward. If you want to make them harder to take out then their effect would need to be nerfed to match.

its only one double pallet location on every map except "The Game" map where one location is by the basement and one location is above the bathroom. but yes, there are atleast one double pallet location on every map, but since im a nurse main i kinda want you to use pallets but in this situation when i played any other killer i got to eat poopoo

The Game near the basement is one (and I think a necessary one considering that if you go down anywhere near there, you're going to basement) The room above that doesn't always have that second pallet (sometimes it does)
The level with the giant tree in the middle is the main one I'm thinking of right now where I'm like 99% sure there's no double pallets anywhere. I've never seen a double pallet on any of the cornfield maps either.

Seriously, Hex Perks should be risky to use and their effects are (in most cases, i look at you Huntress Lullaby and The third Seal) very powerful. I mean you get infinite exposed from Devour after three hooks. Ruin slows the game down massively, especially at lower ranks. I even thought about another Item for survivors: An axe to destroy totems faster/instantly.

So i know this dosent belong to my disscussion thread but why im i rank 1 meeting rank 20 and rank 17 survivors? i played my main (Nurse) they didnt even touch a gen? i ended the game within 2 minutes and 39 seconds (Yes when i play Nurse i put on a timer on myself), is matchmaking broken or something?

I was in the red ranks last reset and before that, I haven’t had as much time to play lately so I’m in green. Just because you struggle doesn’t mean everyone will.
