Now, I know that i will get a lot of hate for this. If you just want to come in here and yell at me, then be assured i'll ignore you. But I think somewhere in the game, it was forgotten that Killers are supposed to be these strong monstrous beings that are out to kill you by any means necessary. I have been told several times to go kill myself cause I was slightly near a hook someone was on, while all the other survivors were swarming me and/or looping around the hook. I've been told to "go play neck rope instead" cause I "Tunneled" by going after 2 more survivors before coming back to one person. Most games I see that have good Killers (read that as the Top Tier Killers, plus Clown oddly) have been called "Boring" or "No Counter Play" or people just DC instantly cause they don't want a challenge. A Killer has a slight issue? NERF HIM INTO THE GROUND! Killer just came out and is doing good cause people aren't used to him? NERF HIM INTO THE GROUND! I just don't understand this mentality. It's 4 vs. 1 and most act as if the ONE should be handcuffed, bound with rope, and set on fire before being put into the match. Maybe I'm wrong, but any Killer buff I ever see is screamed at like its the end of the world and the game forever and ever AMEN. Go get the pitchforks, cause Stealth Killers can Stealth! Bump up Gen speed even more so Ruin can even more useless, and we can get games we waited for 15 minutes for done in 3 minutes!

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I've just seen the more Toxic side of the community. If you have opinions on this, let's talk in a mature way about it and get some insightful and interesting conversations going about it.

Also, a side thought that I'm not gonna get into much cause it is about SWF and I know that is a can of worms. BHVR, just give me bonus BP based on the amount of SWF people I'm dealing with and I'll be happy. You and I both know you didn't make this game with Comms in mind, just give me a reward for putting up with it till something gets figured out. Thank you for listening.

TL;DR: Killer Main is talking, get the tar and feathers.

Yea, I'm expecting it. It's fine, i've lived an okay life.

Also I like the added bonus for a lower rank survivor against a higher rank Killer. That is a very good addition to it, cause I know it's gotta suck for that survivor to fight a red rank at green. Also the "Rank difference" Idea is nice too.

An add on thought to the last thing posted here, Killers get rank 2 survivors too. As a rank 10 tonight I was tossed into a match vs. 4 Rank 2s with no add-on Legion. That did not go well.

Quick curiosity question, the game you were referring to...were you playing Ghostface?

I like the BP per/SWF member idea, so there’s at least a reward. But when they don’t give it to us (this option will never happen), it won’t hurt my feelings.

At this point in the game’s development, I’m just grateful for a match without waiting 20 minutes and no bugs, glitches, or shenanigans in the match.

I find it funny that you ask others to have a mature conversation with you and yet here you open with saying you'll get a lot of hate and are expecting to be yelled at, then go on to say "get the pitchforks ready!" and "Killer Main is talking, get the tar and feathers."

If you want to have an actual insightful conversation then you're not going about it in a very effective way. It seems more like to me that you want to portray yourself as mature and rational and paint survivor mains as reactionary bullies.

Edit: apparently the word reactionary has to do with politics. What I meant was more like "overly emotional," not reactionary.

For the first paragraph, I have two things to say.

First, as tilted as I've gotten in this game, I would never condone telling someone to kill themselves.

Second (kinda has two separate but related points), survivors have been complaining more in the past year because it's been an entire year of consistent nerfs to survivors because, drumroll please.......... the killers are also screaming "NERF THIS TO THE GROUND" (and we don't have to look any further back that Mettle of Man to see that)

On to the second paragraph, that being said, I don't think the entire community is that way. My friends and I (yes we play SWF very often) are some of the least toxic people out there.

And on to the last point, SWF is not inherently a problem and I'll use my games last night as an example. I played about 10 games last night in a group. I was rank 4 for most of the games, went to rank 3. Two of my friends were rank 8. And our last friend was a rank 20, basically brand new to the game. (And I don't know if it matters, but my rank 8 friend was the one that made the lobby if that means anything in this matchmaking system)

We were getting killers rank 14-16 the entire night. Our team got STOMPED multiple matches by Trappers and Huntresses without Ruin for a couple of reasons. Like, 1 gen done or less, stomped.

    1. The new guy sucked, naturally. So that's dead weight on the team and basically makes it a 3 v 1.
    2. Because the new person sucks and has no idea where gens are or anything, the rest of us are basically playing "hero" the entire game and trying to keep him AND each other alive.
    3. My 2 experienced friends were also just making dumb decisions in the name of altruism (3 of them ended up in the basement one game and wasn't ######### I could do to save them)

These things were happening with ALL of us in a voice call and with a majority of the team being pretty far above the killer's rank. Not ALL SWF games are toxic swat teams. Some of us are legit trying to teach new friends how to play a game.

Tier 1 Myers on like... Red forest was one. Then the Neck rope thing was Clown. Then one as Post nerf Legion which they also insisted Legion was never nerfed. Alot of them yesterday as a matter of fact when I was practicing Ghost Face and Plague, now that you mention it.

  • UlvenDagoth
    UlvenDagoth Member Posts: 3,535

Oh, I know there's alot of complaining on both sides. I honestly wish we could rationally talk about the issues and figure them out instead of just yelling "REEEEEEEEE" at each other. MM is kinda broken right now I have found as well, so that doesnt help the SWF thing. I was rank 10 and had four rank 2s. That was a fun match as add-on free Legion.

the killers are or were human and are strenghten by the entity, some didnt even kill someone(like spirit), i dont know where youre getting " Killers are supposed to be these strong monstrous beings that are out to kill you by any means necessary"... i mean yeah, the are out to kill you but they arent all that strong and monstrous beings, like... they get hurt by a piece of wood that doesnt even look resistent enough not to break on their head

I have always thought Pallets were silly, but they do seem kinda tougher than what you are saying. I will also add that the Entity has chosen every killer and given them powers. The sheer fact that The Trapper is so ######### tall and moves so well with all that metal in him seems to point to the fact that something supernatural is going on there. Do you have proof other than the pallets, which is a game play point, to back up that the Entity isn't giving them extra strength and power? You said it yourself that they are strengthened by the Entity.

  • CoffengMin
    CoffengMin Member Posts: 862

i never said it didnt give them power i just said its not a lot , besides if the pallets are thougher like you say i guess the entity gave them resistance mainly so nobody can actually fight back?if the pallets were tougher maybe some normal human could get knocked out idk im just pointing that the killers arent described as monstrous beings cause they are humans mostly bound to human limits with some of their powers being completely given by the entity (spirit, hag, nurse and wraith for example) that can kinda break those bounds so they can actually chase their prey

"Nerf sprint burst! No, it's op now sprint burst on demand!!"

"Nerf sc! No, nerf adrenaline, since survivors never run sc now!"

"Nerf dc! No it's too powerful now!"

    "Nerf MOM!"

    "Comraderir is OP!"

"Gen rush is OP! How dare those survivors fix gens to live!"

"Looping is OP! Survivors should rely on stealth in this ######### excuse for a stealth game! Camping is legit, your fault you were camped to death hook 1!"

"Lobby dodge is perfectly fine you entitled survivor! Killers are not obligated to play with you if you have toolboxes or medkits! Yes those evil survivors are garbage humans if they dc on loading screen because of mori!"

Hmm, Well I did look through the wiki a bit more. Entity seems to have given most of them powers based on there murders and personality, and transformed them into "a machine that is set on finding any living soul." and "As if they have been self-mutilating themselves. They even look dead. I fail to see some humanity in them." So not exactly what I remember reading. You might have a point, though they would be stronger than the survivors based on there role in the game and the feats they pull off during it.

  • CoffengMin
    CoffengMin Member Posts: 862

they ARE stronger than survivors, just maybe not by that much in things like speed, intellect(depending on the player) and definitively resistance

  • UlvenDagoth
    UlvenDagoth Member Posts: 3,535

Wow these sound like some #########. Did you get these from ######### posts here or? This si what I mean by not going "REEEEEE" at each other and trying to figure out some constructive feedback. Also, a few side notes: Camping is a HORRIBLE strat if the team you face is any good. Looping is a tactic in the game, though many people seem to rely on it a bit too much. I wouldn't say OP, i'd say "needs some work." As far as that last one.... just chill man. Takes taking it rather seriously.

I read it alot of the numbers on perks and how powers work. Also watch things on Youtube, to see things in action. It's one reason I think so much on the balance in this game. Also, side note: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo4SN-APijdk8Fve6rZvjWg Very good guy to watch for info on Killers.

He goes over every add-on, every bit of the Killer Power, and shows his testing. Shows perk builds, unfun builds to avoid, and meme builds. Like, if you want a break down of every detail of a Killer, that's your guy.

I couldnt agree more. Every time I suggest a killer rework, even when I go to benefit both sides, survivors complain regardless. I always wish to buff weak/annoying killers whilst making them not annoying. I aim to make it alot more fun when thinking of New concepts but no one can even think of having a stronger but less annoying doctor, SERIOUSLY if you want check my doctor rework right? and just go through the responses. No one listened to anything I said everytime I responded and I was speakin straight f a c t s.

Too scared of having to adapt to a new killer rework even though they do it every 3 months... And look at spirit. She has a huge learning curve, great mindgames, and strong. But survivors say "no counterplay" THERE IS VERY CLEARLY COUNTERPLAY BECAUSE I DO IT AND IM AT RANK ONE! anyway Good to see this because people seem to forget that if there was a murderer chasing them in real life, they couldnt say "bro youre tunneling" and have him go "oh yeah sorry" AND LEAVE LIKE THAT JUST DOESNT WORK.

Honestly self care needed to be slow. Adrenaline shouldnt be nerfed. Gen rushing is hated on not because survivors shouldnt do work but because

    1. There are certain people who enjoy escaping more than being chased so they strictly do gens only, ignore totems and complain about noed (which is a "I suck at the game and need this" type perk but its also good bc it punishes these players.
    2. Gens are too fast and this game is imbalanced as hell. Low tier killers have little advantage in this game and people are forced to play the strong ones like: Brain dead billy, Spirit (the perfect killer) and nurse (the god)

I made a post on secondary OBJ that appeals to both sides I feel. If you wanna check it out.

  • UlvenDagoth
    UlvenDagoth Member Posts: 3,535

Yea, you pretty much summed up alot of what I am thinking. I'd like to see that Doc rework as well. I like the real life example at the end too. There is counter play to Spirit. Just go watch Tru3. Not only does he counter her, he gets countered while using her.

  • UlvenDagoth
    UlvenDagoth Member Posts: 3,535

SC needed to be slow, cause people could body block a killer holding someone and heal BETWEEN HITS. Clearly something was wrong. NoED shouldn't be hated on as much, but it DOES teach Killers how to play wrong. If the survivors get all the gens, even more so with Exit gates opening so quick and not losing progress (Yay 99% both gates) then I pretty much count it was "They are getting away." You should try and win BEFORE that. I also get tired of only those 3 killers being Viable at high ranks. We need more variety, or reworks to the Killers that are shafted at the moment.

  • WickedMilk03
    WickedMilk03 Member Posts: 624

Agreed. AND WOAH gates should lose progress over time... Or maybe the killer can reset it as well as open it.

  • UlvenDagoth
    UlvenDagoth Member Posts: 3,535

Naw. You can 99% a gate, run and unhook someone, loop the killer, then go back to the gate and open instantly. Tea bag/ flashlight click till Killer-Senpai notices you, then leave.

Ohhh, I was just referencing on the wiki that The Entity was called a "She" by the Devs.

The Entity is often designated as of female gender.

    • This is due to the French language, mother tongue of most of the Developers, neither possessing a gender-neutral pronoun nor a grammatical neuter.
    • The Entity's original French name, "L(a)' Entité" is a feminine noun and the Developers have been known to refer to The Entity with feminine pronouns in English as well.

"go play neck rope instead" hahaha. That's a good one, very original.

Please my dear killer brother/sister. Enjoy their rant! That's our reward for killing them!

All Those insults and threats, such delightful poetry they make.

The anguished cries of pathetic sore losers is what should motivate us to keep on going, they should not bring you down.

Learn to laugh at them and you will be fine. Never try to reason with them about your lack of tunneling or camping tactics, that's a waste of time. At least when I get called camper or tunneler it is because I did one or both.

I always write "GG" first thing in the chat. If you get a "GG" in response, leave it like that. We are not dicks ;-)

I hope that advice helps you

Oh I never try and insult back. I do ask for examples and instances of when I did what they say, while pointing out every time I didn't. When I start applying logic to them, they either shut up or just repeat themselves, showing how shallow and untrue there words are.
