Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

A killer perk idea related to chests

It is mine!

Look at these survivors coming into your town, looting every chest they could find.

You have keen sense of ownership over your belongings. When equipped, chests' auras will revealed to you when standing within 12/18/24 meter range. Grants the ability to break an unopened chest and to find an add-on of low/medium/high rarity from them.

I don't know, this is just a thought I had when I play as killer and see an unopened chest, I got this urge to break it. So I thought survivors have it easy on them not only they can escape with items and add-ons they come with, they can also find new ones with the help of perks. Why not killers? During Lunar event when killers had something else to look for other than gens, I had fun. It was nice to divert focus onto something else.

There should be a limit on how often the killer can break chests or survivors won't have much of a chance. I always liked the idea of it being like the lunar event where you can smash a chest after hooking someone. Though I think it should be its own mechanic rather than a perk. The amount of chests per map should also be increased, and the cut coin should be changed to block off some chests for survivors instead of removing them. It would be interesting to have both sides fight over something other than generators.

Yeah I agree. this is just a raw idea of course there should be some restrains to balance it. Just didn't know what they could be exactly. Also agree with the offerings.

As a killer, I want survivors to spend time on chests so they aren't working on gens.

As a killer, I'm under time pressure, I don't have time to deal with chests.

But you have something to gain from chests as well. Plus each chest you destroy decreases their chances of finding rare items like a key. Also this is a perk idea for those who wish to have. So you are not obligated to actually break anything.
