What the downside when a survivor is an obsession Dev's plz answer this one
What the downside when a survivor is an obsession without the killer use any of their perk (DS, MOM, OoO...). If they lose nothing then get rip of this and just tell the killer this person have this x perk as you do with every hex perk in the game.Right now the survivors don't lose anything to be the obsession but instead, they gain more.
The new DS not only protect the obsession from the debuff but they get a buff too. Almost every obsession perk forcing the killer to leave the obsession alone and you can lose (as killer) the perk/s if the survivor DC or die to fast.

Killer should get extra for hunting down obsession then.

Correction, just Rancor as Dying Light got changed to not be designed for tunneling unless you are really REALLY special and tunnel the obsession while you have dying light
0 -
No downside from just being the obssession.
But any killer perk using obssession matters.
You either are in more danger, rancor, current dying light.
Or you give the killer something when he avoids you or purpose, stbfl, pwyf, future dying light.
I don't think it's supposed to completely change the game, just to let you know there might be something extra about this killer involving you. (but it's mostly just survivors using ds...XD )
0 -
Well rancor will help you down in one hit and kill your obsession at the end of the game so no it's not forcing the killer to tunnel. The only obsession perk that do that is the remember me but when has the last time you see it in a game ?
0 -
There’s new scoring events for killing/hooking your obsession. Making it so that you are the better target (in terms of getting points in the malicious and devout category) to go after.
EDIT: Also, PERKS like Rancor, STBFL etc.
EDIT 2: Here’s the patchnotes from the PTB about the new scoring events.
As you can see, Obsession offers better scoring events but at high risk.

On youtube, literally now. On not otzdarva channel.
In the actual game... none recently that I actually remember... they might be there, but it didnt really matter and I always forget to look at the killer perks :p

Killer doesn't bring in any obsession perks.. so I guess you just want to penalize the survivor no matter what... LULs
So basically asking for a passive perk slot for those survivors who take in DS, cause the killer don't want to waste any perk slot for an obsession perk.
NICE

So no answered ok got it. Look you never answerd the first part of my question what is the downside the the survivors use an obsession perk ?
0 -
The killer knows you have decisive strike.
No obsession = no decisive
Why does it have to mean anything more than someone is using an obsession perk?
1 -
No you miss the point. I only want to see perk with high risk high reward like the hex pers.
0 -
They actually changed it so the Killer can't know which Survivor has DS. Any of the Survivors can be the obsession if someone brings it. To limit killer counterplay.
0 -
@Peanits don't worry i will post this again and again and again until you answerd my question.
1 -
If anyone is the obsession I always assume there's 4 decisives...
0 -
I mean, do you just want him to come out and say there isn't a downside? Seems kind of pointless to make big deal out of it when we know the answer.
0 -
I want to know
1) why the survivors have no drawback if the they use obsession perks especial if the killer don't use an obsession perk.
2) Why is so save to be the obsession if they killer use an obsession perk.
3) Will they change that.
0 -
I will like to answer those questions if you can.
1) why obsessions perk for the survivors don't have a drawback like killer do?
I mean DS protects you from "tunneling" for 60 sec, you force it and as the killer, you don't know who many and who has it. OoO you use it only when you are a good survivor and if they killer chase you they lose all the time they have or if they leave you you know where there are and what they do any given moment. SS gives you unmute in aura reading perks because you stay alive.
2) Obsession perk for killer forces the killer to leave the obsession ( except remember me and Furtive Chase) and if they obsession dies you lose the whole perk?
3) Why they new DL not only doesn't work on the obsession but it gives them a buff in healing?
and @Peanits of course, this will feel like deja vu if you never try to answer them.

Play With Your Food.
Rancor
Dark Devotion
Remember Me
All perks that don’t force you to leave obsession alone. (Rancor partially since you have to wait till all gens are done to mori).
2 -
Isn't this the third time you've posted this?
2 -
OoO shows your location, sole survivor requires you to literally lose your team and MoM requires you to injure yourself three times wasting time to get a hit. No downsides? I think not.
3 -
OoO is broken versus the stealth killers, especially ghostface / wraith since against them you basically get wallhacks. Completely busted if it's a SWF on comms who can run it and call out your location to the entire team. It is a drawback when you hit the OP killers like nurse, but against everyone loop-able it's a pretty huge boon if you know how to loop (which is not hard).
Rancor is awful. Dark devotion is awful. Remember me is awful unless you closed the hatch against the last survivor in which case it's OK (but still worse than whispers).
Play with your food and save the best for last are the only decent killer obsession perks. Both require a ton of work to get use out of.
Dying light is meh without a mori for the obsession, and even then DS can just turn it off.

That’s about to get fixed with “undetectable”
Also, when you look at freddy, he sees your aura, but you don’t see him
0 -
It doesn't work anymore, hello rework?
1 -
Yes and even more. I will post this until the answer those 3 questions
0 -
MoM is a show of it former self. SS it something that can happen normally in the game. OoO if you know how to run 2 loops you are good to go with no problem.
0 -
They still have downsides
1 -
You need to let your obsession to escape 3 times and you can't miss a hit.
You focus to your obsession when all the gens are complete if you can find him/she.
Dark Devotion Remember Me are the only one that make you want to hook / hit your obsession but even then Dark Devotionforcing you to keep the obsession alive in order the perk work and Remember Me is the only one that need to kill you obsession.
0 -
Again what because right now only MoM have a drawback and that because has to break for the game.
0 -
I just told you the downsides, your problem is that you don’t listen, it is also why you still haven’t accepted the answer Peanits gave you.
If you plan on asking questions then you need to listen.
2 -
SS will be using from solos so they don't care, OoO this is what makes it a bully perk ( don't forget you can hide your self behind a gen and the killer can't see you) and only MoM have a drawback because it's now a thrash perk.
0 -
Revealing yourself is still a downside and gens don’t completely hide you. Your team dying for your perk to activate is a downside, even if it happens normally.
0 -
You need to be behind the gen most of the time the killer can't waste a lot of time trying to see if someone if behind the gens. Survivors die all the time with SS at least you get a benefit on something.
0 -
When you’re looking at freddy with OoO, it triggers, but he’s invisible at distance if you’re awake. So yeah, OoO is a detriment against freddy
0 -
Nope, it doesn't work like that, I use OoO and I could see his aura non stop, in dream world he doesn't have a terror radius so you can see him anytime.
0 -
Even when awake? What console?

PC

We still wait for answereds @not_Queen ,@Peanits

Running Obsession perks as a survivor is a risk in that the killer could be using a number of Obs. perks, and now you're going to feel the brunt of it. The fact most killers don't run them at all is only a coincidence.
If the killer has no Obs. perks, nothing is lost. It adds a little icon in the info bar, that's all. Maybe the killer is just personally obsessed with that survivor, and will feel grim satisfaction when they're sacrificed. Maybe the player puts themselves into the role of the killer and decides that if the killer wants that person, they'll try to get them more than others. Think of it as adding a little flavor to the game rather than a gameplay mechanic.
2 -
I created a killer in the fan section that actually uses the obsession system in his core power kit. Not sure it's viable but would make a survivor running an obs perk 2nd thoughts
0 -
it would be nice if it was an actual risk that the killer runs those perks.
other than Rancor, all the killers Obsession perks literally reward him for NOT attacking you and punish him for doing it.
PWYF: rewards the killer for losing a chase against you
STBFL: rewards the killer for attacking others & punishes them for attacking you
Dying Light (new): rewards the killer for keeping you alive and hooking others & punishes them for killing you
Dark Devotion: rewards the killer for leaving you after a hit, so they can ambush someone else
Furtive Chase: honestly, this one switches the obsession around so much, it doesnt really affect one survivor alone... it rewards the killer for hooking the obsession though, BUT punishes him for killing them. so if you are the obsession and you're on your deathhook, you are safe.
Remember Me: rewards for letting the obsession escape and heal back up, but also makes the killer try to eliminate you before endgame. is pretty dead though...
and the survivor obsession perks also pretty much all have only upsides for obsessions...
being the killers obsession is the best thing that could happen to you - unless you see the killers aura after repairing a gen that is xD

Didn't you already get an answer for this from someone? This is like the fourth thread on the same thing...
3 -
Stop being childish and accept the answer you were given. You’re basically spamming at this point.
3 -
PWYF: is it really LOSING a chase if you intentionally let them flee to feel "safe"?
1 -
How many Threads do you want to start with the same topic? You even did answers from Devs in previous Threads:
At which point is it considered Spam to ask the same question again, over and over?
1 -
Wow. That's impressive.
0 -
@DarkGGhost I've combined your threads as they are all on the same subject, please refrain yourself from starting new threads on the same subject over and over, especially when the question has already been answered. Thanks.
0 -
I will stop it when answered
1) Why the obsession is so safe?
2) The actual downside for the survivor to run any obsession perk?
3) Why the obsession ( when you use new DL) not only is unaffected from your perk but get buff too?

This man is so determined for an answer that was ALREADY answered that it is comedic.

Already answered perfectly well by Peanits here. I am now locking this thread.
