Not gonna lie...
The new killer is really fun to play as and against. His M2 is extremely fun and helpful at loops to do some mindgames. Like Billy, but less challenging since you don't have to pay attention to the charge bar and perfect timing/curving. His teleporting is quite nice aswell. Tho, I couldn't use it much, but it saves a lot of time.
I also enjoy the new chase music. It's really refreshing and it was needed.
Good job on that devs. He needs some polishing and QoL changes here and there, but he seems to be a very decent and solid killer. Please, just don't nerf him at release. Let it sink into the game for a whole month before changing much

He seems to be in a perfect spot balance wise. I hope I can try him out in a few days when I get back home and am not stuck with a potato pc.
Balance wise he feels just like Freddy, a healthy amount of map pressure and chase potential.

It's really too early to tell, but he is extremely unfun to play against. This is just me speaking from my experience. I was having a lot of unfun playing against Spirits, but tbh.. I would rather play against Spirit than the Demo.

i had a great time playing against demo personally.. then again i enjoy playing against spirit too. and freddy, and nurse, and all the other killers people dc against because they're extremely unfun to play against.

Really? I havenr versed a lot demos so far. Most of them were good to handle. The chases were feeling fair and skill based (unlike spirit were you constantly flip coins and play guessing games).
What exactly don't you like? His m2? Or the teleporting? And why?

I would argue he should have lesser of a cooldown on teleportation... But overall solid and they better not do the behaviour treatment

This is going to be his meta :
Run add ons to increase time to destroy traps.
Equip Hex Ruin and Pop Goes the Weasel.
Put two traps near gens. You destroy one, he goes to the other. You spend time working traps, gens never get finished.
It's actually so boring. At least Spirit has to dedicate some time to cross the entire map.

Three gen strat, he might be better at it than hag.

3 gen master. All it takes is for him to see one is destroyed, he goes to the closest one.
It took R1 killers about 3 hours to figure out this strat, and I played against it for the rest of the night. I actually got irritated with DBD for the first time since I came back. I queued off the PTB, I'll just wait until he's live.

What if you ignore the portal and just do the gen?
He can't change the location, if the gen gets done that's 2 useless portals

If you ignore it he will just port onto you.. I didn't play as him, but it seems his traps don't have a range.
I'm not asking for nerfs or trying to complain. I am just expressing that in my games, he was very unfun to play against.

It can only teleport from one portal to another. And there's a cooldown after each use. ( he also needs to use the portal at least once before it can detect other survivors)
With a little bit of coordination, It can be done while someone leads it away.
At least, not gonna be worse than 3 gen doctor.
I'm just trying to workshop a counter strategy, I like doing that.
Playing as him would probably help understand where his weakpoints are (wish my computer wasn't a potato)

Question. Can survivors see inactive portals? I know they can close active, so they can apparently see them open. But ones that have been placed, but not used. Are they visible to survivors?

They're given a white aura when a Survivor is working on destroying them. Otherwise, no they are not.

Imagine a mint rag hag with a charge attack. That’s The Demogorgon at base. The difference is Hag traps can be insta destroyed with activating or a flashlight.
His traps take time to destroy .

I can absolutly understand now what you mean. I HATE 3 gen doc builds for example. Super boring and annoying. In case this becomes meta with demogorgon it's gonna be really a pain in the ass. Thankfully I haven't versed a single one who did that. So far every killer tried to play "normally" and went for many chases.
But do you agree that the basic chase with his m2 is fun? Cuz I love it

There is only two problems I have with the new killer which is his m2 and perks. The reason why I say his perks is because if a killer runs surge, pop goes the weasel or Huntress lullaby, ruin and overcharge. This build would become crazily unfair for all suriviours and that ain't a debate.
Another problem is his m2 which has no cool down. Why I say it is a problem is because the distance it covers is ridiculous, especially with the fact that his attack has a wide range to hit a survivor. This can become a problem because the chase a killer and surivour can have would last 20 seconds or less. Due to his high range and distance it's nearly impossible for a suriviour to get to the next pallet without getting hit.
Now you might be saying that I'm encouraging loops. But as much as I hate to say it. Looping the killer is the only way a suriviour can win because it stops killers from preventing destroying gens or stopping people from gens. It also makes the killer waste time and also reduces the map pressure a killer can have. That's why killers such as Nurse, spirit and Billy are in high tiers because they can end chases quickly making them easily have map control and e.t.c
I want to mention them early so people don't exploit this killer and give it a dumb nerf like legion has.

But his m2 is quite close to billys m2. The cooldown is very similar aswell. And unlike Billy, he can't insta down you. He can't even break pallets without an ultra rare addon. And IMO Billy is the most balanced and fun killer to verse in the game and I'm actually very happy that Billy was some kind of blueprint for demogorgons M2 ability.

Don't know how that would really be meta unless you are in a 3 gen, He is way more entertaining to go against than Spirit imo 1000%

If this is indeed a problem though, then maybe the devs should look into this problem. Maybe increasing the power recovery time of his teleport ability when there are only 3 gens left. Or increasing the distance from the gen at which you can't place portal, at least when only 3 gens are left. The only problem I see is that the devs probably don't like altering a killers ability depending on how many generator are left.
Haven't played against him yet, but in general he looks like a lot of fun to verse. Chases against him look very fun, and his map pressure forces you to be alert all of the time, with his portals being a bit like an optional second objective for survivors.

Yeah, had this during one game.
Myself and my friend still alive, 1 Gen needed, the last remaining 3 Gens were not even close to each other. When this started we even were 3 Survivors instead of only 2, but we did not manage to do a Gen without him coming out of a Portal to interrupt it.
He had an Add On that lets him Travel faster, but still, it was not possible to do any Gen at this point. Sure, Killer should be the Powerrole, but it should not be impossible to escape as a Survivor after a certain point.

He last less than a minute during the chase when he started looping the killer. Had the killer not tried to keep double back when there is a safe pallet or used perk such as spirit fury to help during a chase. You can imagine how quickly that Chase would last. Also if you watch noob3 using the killer, I don't recall him being in a Chase that last longer than a minute.
I'm not saying he op as it is too early. However, I think we can all agree his perks to reduce gen time is really massive.
