Spine chill nerf
With the new stealth statuses in the game, namely undetectable, spine chill and premonition have been nerfed, and are now unable to do literally their main purpose. They’ve been rendered the “reacted to regular terror radius killers a single second faster” perk.
Here’s the biggest issue. Undetectable isn’t supposed to do that. It clearly says “prevents aura perks”. What kind of spaghetti hell is this?
Is this a bug? Or was this forgotten from the patch notes?

If this is true it's because t1 Myers has that power..its for consistency and besides, there wouldnt be a point to changing stealth killers if these two perks remained unchanged..this is a good thing that promotes self awareness over "it's impossible to sneak up on me " the perk still has much use and none of the top killers are stealth killers anyway..this is not an issue..this is progress

Except the patch notes are literally wrong, or a stealth nerf was done. Doesn’t matter what balance is involved, clarification is needed.
also, no. Spine chill has like a single use besides detecting the killer, and it’s doing stuff in the nick of time, for the 6 seconds the killer hasn’t reached you yet. Premonition is just straight up trash
9 -
It may be an oversight on the description but it makes perfect sense why it would work this way still..I agree I wasnt sure how it worked vs these perks either but I'm glad it's being done this way if it is..it truley solidifies stealth killers existing
3 -
I’d rather they didn’t but if stealth killers are getting this:
- Spine chill and ESPECIALLY premonition are gonna need a tweak, as their purpose just gotta invalidated
- Patch notes need “solidifying”
2 -
Hardly invalidated..you can still use them outside the killers stealth modes, especially Myers, and it still works on smaller tr killers, and also let's you know if it's safe to stay on the gen if you hear the tr..itll still get plenty of usage
5 -
That’s not very good. It’s a massive drop in power to perks that aren’t strong. And again, regardless of what spine chill can do, premonition IS TRASH
2 -
Doesnt matter , still ruins what this update is attempting , it's no massive power drop it just stops them from having 0 counters
5 -
but you can’t say that! As of right now, the patch notes are wrong. We have no clue what’s being attempted.
0 -
All we can say is if it works it works..you gotta remember it doesnt always tell you if or how a lot of addons stack but they work the way they do regardless..we should be used to some hiccups
0 -
True, but it isn’t under the context that it wouldn’t other though. This is an effect saying it does something, and then it doing much more
0 -
But once again it's perfectly logical why it works this way..the whole update would be meaningless if these remained untouched it's really simple
2 -
Spine Chill never worked against T1 Myers anyway. It did against Ghostface, so it’s really just nerfed against GF lol
1 -
Its nerfed on
T2 myers (if applicable)
ghostface
pig
wraith
freddy
Demogorgon (not a nerf, as they came with it, but still ineffective)
1 -
What about Prayer Beads? Spine Chill or Premonition are really the only way to counter that dumb add on.
3 -
The bigger question is why did they feel the need to nerf these perks? lol
9 -
This must be a bug, it was confirmed by peanits that Spine Chill is not effected by Undetectable.
How did you test this?
11 -
I'm an avid Spine Chill user, but I'm not sure if the new status effect interferes with it.
If so, it should be changed.
Spine Chill is supposed to counter stealth abilities.
8 -
Wait there's just no counter play to cheeseface at all now? Literally even OBJECT got nerfed? Wow...
0 -
Spine chill is a very powerful Survivior perk but it's also one of those perks that's pretty underrated.
It helps you know if the killer is moonwalking as as well as if a phasing Spirit is tracking you. It does a lot and I think it needs to be respected as such. That being said, Spine chill should never be nerfed. It's powerless on its own and only provides information.
It should counter stealth killers the same way Object should, object just got nerfed bc it's more obvious.
2 -
Let me get this straight, it's wrong and extremely unbalanced if a killer -whose purpose is to be stealthy in the first place- is able to counter or cancel ONE of four perks of a survivor (in a team of 4 btw) but it's perfectly fine and logical that a single perk can cancel out a killer's ENTIRE power. (Wraith, scratched mirror Myers, pig, etc)
See how ridiculous it sounds in context?
It should definitely work against prayer beads though, THAT'S a reasonable adjustment since it would literally have no counter otherwise, which would be the same as Ghostface being affected by them while using his power.
1 -
Object SHOULD counter stealth killers. Thats the only upside to basically agreeing to be tunneled the whole game. It's not an easy perk to run and if you're using it against a non stealth killer it's really not as useful. The fact that it has gotten nerfed is just disgusting.
Edit: If you can't tunnel down the one rare person running object every 50 games and need to cry about it being nerfed you are just being outplayed.

”We want Survivors to hide more.”
Nerfs perks that help you evade and hide.
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️.
Spine Chill is a great perk and has become solidified in my build since people want to spam Spirit at R1.
Maybe I should equip DS instead.

First they nerfed exhaustion perks now stealth perks. At this rate, next patch they'll remove survivors ability to run completely. With all the surv nerfs and recent killer buffs we should have the old exhaustion back. The status went away so damn slowly while running but at least it rewarded a good chase. Now you just get downed and face camped. Fun stuff.
4 -
Survivors have been getting nerfed since day 1 lol.
But Killers have dealt with nerfs as well.
I don’t run exhaustion perks excluding Adrenaline. They’re generally overrated in 2019.
Leave Spine Chill alone.
2 -
Spine Chill shouldn't be affected by Undetectable status effects, Peanits confirmed this in another thread. I hope you tested it against Demogorgon, because he is the only killer who has Undetectable status effect as of right now.
2 -
Well they, nerfed exhaustion, shortened loops, took out pallet vacuums (but left hook vacuums in for killers), and nerfed vaulting yet Killers still have bloodlust in 2019.
I agree about spine chill and they should leave Object of Obsession alone as well while they're at it
3 -
At the rate this balance is going it looks like I'm gonna continue sitting in 5+min killer queues.. It might just increase in queue time as well, but I got a second monitor, so no worries.

"Undetectable" as its name implies you should not be able to be found as easily as using 1 simple perk to absolutely destroy stealth killer's abilities that's just stupid no mattet how you look at it
1 -
Honestly, Spine chill needed the nerf. I've been finding myself relying on it too much when I play survivor. Having it be unreliable is a great change, since, as @Benzinjiq said, "Using 1 perk to absolutely destroy a stealth killer's abilities is just stupid".

Object needed the nerf. At high level play, it was just broken. Especially in a team. Being able to see where the wraith is 24/7 is lunacy and denies him his main appeal: invisibility. Oblivious and Undetectable were designed to nerf Object against stealth killers, which was those killers' achilles heel.
Stealth killers needed the buff to compete with killers like Billy. Sure, they're not nearly as good, but they're certainly getting better.
1 -
Spine chill hasnt been need what are you talking about
0 -
I agree. It only got nerfed bc of the incoming Bugface mains that were sad they had a perk that made their job difficult. When you could watch Matches of Gf against object users and it wasn't as bad as anyone made it seem.
0 -
Spine chill is powerless on its own. All it does is give you a warning that you need to be doing something. It doesn't tell you where the killer is coming from. It doesn't tell you what they're doing. It doesn't tell you any of that. All it tells you is that the killer is looking in your direction. You need to actually DO something with that information in order to make it a good perk. It's a perk that enables skill based okay.
4 -
Running Object is signing a contract that you will probably be Tunnelled all game long. And against any non stealth killer it's a BAD perk. You ever run Object against a Nurse? You've pretty much done the hard part of playing Nurse for her. Spirit? Now she knows exactly where to go. Billy? Do I even NEED to explain. Only time object is ever good is when it's being used to counter stealthy killers and it comes with a giant drawback of not only revealing your aura but also shoehorning you into the "yeah I can get camped and Tunnelled and I don't rly get to complain about it".
4 -
Look man, it's not even that big of a nerf, Premonition was always trash and everyone used spine chill because not only does it let you know if the killer is coming towards you, you could use it to go against people that moon walk or spirits with prayer beads. The Nerf isn't that bad and I honestly like that Killers are becoming more stealthy because it adds extra tension
1 -
Wow even Freddy? Then it’s useless. Shame, cause it was in my main build too. Guess I’ll have to replace it with Inner Strength lol
1 -
Well "Undetectable" shouldn't be a thing. Having a killer that can more easily sneak around and cheese out health states with absolutely no counter play is just stupid no matter how you look at It.
Object is high risk/reward in counter play and perfectly balanced imo. Like I said before, "If you can't tunnel down the one rare person running object every 50 games and need to cry about it being nerfed you are just being outplayed."
3 -
Spine chill will still work bruh, the only thing that won't work is stuff like alert and kindred which shows the killers Aura.
0 -
That perk is easy mode if you just throw safe pallets all day XDDD risk..what a joke
1 -
Well not to sound rude, but If you can't tunnel down the one rare person running object every 50 games and need to cry about it being nerfed you are just being outplayed.
1 -
And waste all the pallets on the map so you can easily kill everyone else? If you're getting destroyed by pallets that easily hate to say it but it sounds like you're just bad. You have bloodlust, shortened loops and no vacuums anymore. Learn to mindgame buddy. I promise pallets won't be an issue for you anymore.
3 -
This is what I was saying.... they shouldnt make undetectable effect spine chill, it takes a lot of game awareness for you to get the most out of the perk..
2 -
Spine Chill has no aura mechanic, and therefore should work as normal vs. stealth killers and T1 Myers. If this isn't the case, it seems like a bug that ought to be fixed.
4 -
Noone but beginers use these perks anyway. And they making it so, every stealth killer gets the ability of a t1 Myers who whas immune to them already. Just let it go. It’s a small price for making stealth actually usefull. Especially because one OoO is enough to win a game against Wraith/Pig/Derpface
0 -
Myers doesn't have Undetectable.
0 -
False, it’s a staple Solo perk
1 -
T2 Michael isn't stealth so it should work on him unless they changed it which I highly doubt they did
0 -
Some people actually think spine chill needed to be nerfed. This is where we are at all with survivor perks smh.
6 -
I'm not a spine chill, I don't like it. Usually used by noobs. They will never get hooked while their team mates are getting carried to their death hook. Super selfish. Idc, nerf it to the ground I wouldn't miss it.

Lol you my friend dont know me..so stop making yourself look like some fool
