I don't want to slug to guarantee a 4k
It's so unfun for the survivors and for killers too, but it is the only way killers have to guarantee a 4k in a trial. Can we update this outdated and unfun tactic as you did with the EGC?

I think the hatch should only appear when there's only 1 survivor left or all gens are done. Because the hunt for the hatch is way more fun than slugging someone to find the last guy.
Egc already favors killers quite a bunch, no need to buff it in that direction.

I'm not sure why you feel like you need to 4k, tbh. The difference between a 3k and a 4k is arbitrary and anyone hung up on it is really only hurting themselves.

Slugging the 3th to kill the 4th gives to the killer 500+200 points for hooking and sacrifice events (+500 if EGC started), 300+300 for 2 hits (you get deviousness points too if you use your power), 2500 deviousness points for the 4k and hundreds of hunter points. Imagine every number I said multiplied by 2 due to BBQ. Sorry if you see me as the killer sweating my ass for a 4k, but I want my points. If I have max points in deviousness i never look for the 4 kills, though.

The amount of extra time typically wasted to get the 4k by slugging just isnt worth it to me anymore. I typically max out on deviousness points rather quickly. I USE to slug for the 4k before they introduce hatch closing, but now... I just wanna move on to the next game and the hatch closing mechanic still gives me a very good chance of getting that last kill anyway. The only time I'll slug now days is if I can IMMEDIATELY chase the 4th guy.

Because there is no "supposed", BOTH parties still need to make effort to achieve their primary goal.
You haven't won or lost until you see the Entity telling you how well you did.

Typically, I kill the 3rd and what happens happens. If I see the last while downing the 3rd, thats a different story.

If one survivor escapes through the hatch you can lose an emblem difference of up to a full pip and 3k's don't actually ensure you to pip due to emblems being a rubbish shitshow that would rather you hope the survivors are either competent and slow or stupid and still slow. You can get a 4k and miss pipping by the slimmest of margins if the game went too fast. So the difference is not arbitrary in the least and I wish people would learn the scoring system proper so they'd at least stop saying that.
The differences between how many kills and hooks you get versus whether or not anyone escapes through the hatch is pretty severe.

Why do you want the 4K anyway? If you played well, you will pip. If not enough Gens were done (e.g. maximum 2) the remaining Survivor does 100% not know where the Hatch is and the Killer is in full advantage of finding it first.

This is usually how I play. I try to make sure the final survivor is one I don't mind escaping (in other words, not someone who was rude all game or sandbagged/farmed their teammates) because there's a good chance they'll get the hatch. I often max out Deviousness so I don't need the extra BP, and I don't care about pipping.
The only time I slug for the 4k is if I'm going for an adept achievement.
If a killer cares about pipping, then yeah, I understand why they go for the 4k. In that case, they just have to accept: you can play for fun, or you can play to pip. It's a choice.

If one of the last 2 survivors did something like try to sell out their teammate... That ones dying for sure. Ill gladly give the hatch to the OTHER teammate.

I find slugging fun as killer, though i know survivors don't so I won't do it often.
It's fun to me because I feel like I have more control, and I love to play around with my victims. It also seems to help a bit with the emblems.

You are not forced to slug for the 4K. Plenty just hook the other person let them save and get both players down when they are close to each other.
OR bring BBQ to see the person’s aura.
No one forces you to slug. That might just be what you yourself have to do to get a 4K.

I mean, a 4k should be no more guaranteed than a 1, 2, or 3k. You can either slug to try and raises your chances of that happening, or you can sacrifice/kill the third and roll the dice on the last one. Your call.

I get 4ks just fine, even in Red Ranks. Granted, its not all the time so don't automatically assume that i'm talking like an elitist.
Of course I won't 4k all the time, but saying you have to slug to get a 4k at all is completely false...

How are you able to tell if the killer or survivors are having fun in the first place. That's what I don't get from comments like this.

Ghostface? Not really. His reveal mechanic is buggy as hell. You can stare DIRECTLY at him like five feet away and he won’t get reveal. Sometimes he even gets revealed after crouching behind a wall.
His gameplay mechanic is cheesy and not exactly stealth orientated. It’s more-so just to cheese the stalk mechanic to get an instadown. Not the way I think he was intended to be played. Ghostface is a hot mess.
Freddy and Demogorgon however are great.

@Groxiverde It isn't really though, if you know they're slugging the other Survivor they really wont bother getting them. This in turn wastes both the two Survivors time, and yours as well.
Once they drop dead, you can go find the hatch. OR if you're lucky, you can find the hatch before they die and just wait around it (not in a locker, that's a terrible idea.) You'd have more fun, and an overall quicker end to the game if you hook the 3rd Survivor and sacrifice them. This in turn will let both of you find The Hatch, and the rest follows suit.

Slugging is in the game so the killer can provide map pressure by not hooking, which is amazing for them at high level play. If you don't like slugging as a killer then don't, you don't have to. If you are a survivor then bring unbreakable! There, slugging for a 4k has been solved! :)

There is nothing like a guarantee for anything. Its a game. Youre not supposed to get a 4k every game.

And it's the balance that improved. Not their quality control. That doesn't seem to have.

I mean, you 4k to ensure a pip and entertain a double pip. There's no point in ranking up as killer when you go up against better and better survivors as you level up, and the cracks in the games balance begin to show.
Do what you want. If you want to rank, get used to slugging.

Quality and Balance never mix well when it comes to Killers and their Patches.
Legion was patched to meet the "suggestions" even though it was demands... of the community that was against him since the beginning. Hows Legion doing now? Hes a husk of what originally made him unique.
Quality can also be abolished when the pressure of the community weighs down on the devs. So we can't always blame them for some things not working out, we also must take into account the community and the pressure they exert onto everyone that works on a certain project in this game. If demands are not made, riots ensue.
We've seen it before with MoM, DS, Legion, Plague, anything that isn't really balanced... And we'll continue to see this until the end of Dead by Daylight as we know it.

I usually don't slug for the 4k unless I find the other guy while I'm chasing. Like in horror movies the last person alive has a desperate struggle to escape and that's what I like, the chase. If I get them huzzah, if I don't then good for them they got out and hopefully they don't think they're super good and gloat.
