Would you consider this camping?
I was playing as killer a couple weeks back (I think Myers from what I remember.) Anyway, was facing a group of SWF who were tag teaming gens. They were being real sneaky about it. Only one person would work on it at a time with the others hiding nearby. I soon realized this and would chase one briefly then immediately go back to the gen to get the next player off of it.
Needless to say I am not the best killer and they all survived. They then proceeded to be super salty in the end game chat. They kept calling me names and pathetic, etc, etc, etc. The reason is that I was "camping". . . THE GENS.
I called BS! I learned a while back how detrimental hook camping is for the killer and don't do it. But seriously?!?!? A gen?
Just wondering what the consensus is. I don't think what I did was camping. Do you agree? Are there really survivors that think a killer is supposed to leave a gen when they know other survivors are waiting to jump on it when you turn your back? Interested in some opinions here.

Although it's annoying to face as survivor, it's a perfectly valid tactic, especially when they were doing gens like that. Just ignore them.

No, it isn't.
You just adapted to their playstyle.

A couple weeks back.. now you are asking?... Bothered you that much? lol
Who cares... just play the game how you want.

No, you just hunt Survivors.
if they keep getting caught there and they don't like that, they easily could've gone to another one.

Didn't bother me actually. In fact it was the moment that made me stop caring about post game criticism because I thought it was so off the deep end.

If anyone ever complains that you’re camping generators, then they’re wrong. As the Killer, your job is to stop Survivors from escaping. To do that, the generators cannot be repaired.
Essentially, they’re complaining that you playing the game right. No biggie.

They could have easily moved to other gens. That’s not camping.

Survivors consider that camping is also a Hag that TPs back to a triggered trap near a hooked person so you can't say whats what anymore. Just don't worry about it.

That's not camping, the survivors were just salty and immature brats.
What exactly were they expecting you to do? Killers do pretty much just two things in the game: kill survivors and protect gens.

"Camping the gens".... That's eh... That's a new one.

I have seen many posts with salty noobs and pros trying to complain about stupid crap. People complaining about NOED when it's easily countered by doing bones. They say camping is bad, yet it's simply the killer resorting to desperate measures to get a kill.
But right now I just read a post about someone complaining of a killer doing their job.
Do survivors want a challenge or not? Because believe me, why do they want to make the game easier? Sure, it'll be more fun, but it dies out quickly. Like... The first 10 seconds. If there never was a killer, it would just be... Generator repair simulator. (Ok, technically that's what it is right now, but with no killer it would be emphasized.) Is that really fun folks? With no challenge, why do anything? If there's no struggle, a reason to worry, how can you be tense or scared this game wants you to feel?

LOL arrogant small brain Survivors think guarding the Gen is bad.
Survivors will use any excuse to make their win surpass ecstasy or belittle you for their mistakes. My buddy got MAJOR criticism for playing Clown and downing a Survivor WITH HIS BOTTLES, he said ''I PLAY CLOWN and I DON'T USE MY BOTTLES AS NEARLY AS MUCH YOU NEED TO!!!!!''
My buddy used his power, the only tactic Clown has, and he was called pathetic.
You're fine dude, Survivors will always complain about something. I get yelled at for playing around the Basement and trapping it up, only hooking in their, their complaints mean nothing, they are below you if they complain about something simple.

Just ignore salt. Did you cheat? No? did you exploit? No? then it was a tactic. Whether you won or not, you have no rules to follow. In this case Camping means nothing except the survivors got caught out on their tactic and refused to adapt, instead trying to force upon the killer that the killer should have left and let them win.

It's just another example of survivors entitling themselves to rule no. 86 in the "Survivor - Killer Etiquette Guide."

I don't consider that camping in the slightest. There are plenty of generators in a given map. If they were that irritated by you staying near that generator, they probably should've just left to repair another one. It was a perfectly valid tactic on your part.

If anything they were the ones camping the gen.
