400+ hours solely Plague Rank 1 Main - Most meta build

So because many people on Discord etc. asked me which build I run and which is the most META for Plague and extremely solid even at Rank 1, here I go.

Of course you can (and will most likely) have other opinions, but trust me, played right I can say from my thousands of games experience this is the one you want.

Quick info: Works BEST with no cleansing-meta, but when cleansing, they already lost anyway.


Perks:

Monitor and Abuse: Get very much closer to survivors injured and surprise them with one hit down. Works wonders and the added FOV is a big plus too. (Plague is taller so even more benefit here)

Pop goes the Weasel: Keeping gens in check and with the 9+ hooks you get every game, you regress the equivalent of 2+ gens AT LEAST. No-brainer to pick that. Helps late game the most.

Ruin / or Corrupt intervention: You can pick it, at rank 1 I would EVERY TIME go for Corrupt intervention, and when survivors bring Maps. Rank 5 and down, pick Ruin.

Now the one you probably did not expect and let me explain extensively:

PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD:

Everyone knows this perk, but Plague is THE KILLER it is really made for:

  • No cleansing meta: survivors are one-shot down, so in worst case only use up one stack for a down.
  • All survivors are broken: For example playing shack or jungle gym, just grab survivors at vaults. Avoid hits when unnecessary! No stacks lost.
  • Around pallets: you just cannot loop her, even if she only has 1 stack. Of course this depends on your experience as killer!
  • Survivors do not expect it: If they even go for a second loop, you catch them. Guaranteed. Minimum 120% movement speed killer.
  • Completely negates two her biggest weaknesses, making her Rank 1 viable: Map control (extra speed helps tremendously, trust me you are flying around the map) and getting looped (not possible with PWYF if played right)
  • But play Plague right: At match start, you want to get all survivors sick as quickly as possible. Whatever you do, DO NOT, NEVER EVER chase someone. Found Obsession? One hit and leave her. Then you have at least one stack PWYF. Experienced killers can tell right from the start where survivors will spawn, often you get 3+ sick in an instant.
  • Know when to chase / leave survivors: Do not chase where are no gens, but you can easily counter for example ironworks of misery "infinite": Just grab survivor at vault. No problem with 5+% extra speed.
  • Believe it or not, you can get stacks of PWYF really fast. And if you play around with obsession, she will likely keep around you the entire game thinking you have Save the best for last or something. You can get 2 stacks in 10 seconds. Just have to use PWYF a few times and you understand.

And just to say before anyone comes with it: THANA IS S*! DO NOT USE THANA ON PLAGUE AT ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. AND NEVER, EVER USE SPIRIT FURY + ENDURING!!

For reference, the last 15 games I played I killed exactly 50 survivors, which is average of 3,3 kills EVERY GAME AT RANK 1 EXCLUSIVELY WITH THIS BUILD.

    Almost forgot Addons (although you can play her with out any!!):

    • increase infection time on obects (better than you think, spray the gens at the start, works well with Corrupt intervention)
    • Vile purge cooldown (VERY good for quick sprays)
    • At rank 1 (or when you feel like it): See the auras of vomiting survivors

    Thats true that PWYF is a good perk on plague but I preffer BBQ to snowball abit harder as plague but its just my opinion^^

    BBQ on Plague would only be good for BP, I rarely run it because it denies one of the other perks I think are better on her :)

    Well I got alot of free Kills just because of BBQ, on every game atleast 2-6 free hooks^^

    I've been working on prestiging Plague recently and just messing around with what I got dealt. For reference, that's been a solid few weeks of playing her as I've been distracted by saving for the new chapter, and now putting points into Quentin. I was in red ranks this month with her, which surprises me as half the time a 4k with her is a safety pip.

    Brutal Strength has been interesting to me, and I've even had a few matchs of Brutal Strength + Fire Up, most of which ended as 3 or 4ks. I guess it sort of fills the same roles as PWYF, in that lowering the time breaking a pallet results in being closer in a chase as well.

    My biggest issue is that regardless of her viability or strength, if you don't get an idiot who'll cleanse she simply isn't FUN. Yeah, survivors break pretty fast, but after that your power is just passive, you're an M1 killer and all you do is the same thing every other killer does.

    Personally the only times I'm really ENJOYING playing her now is with her ultra rares, since one grants you corrupt purge when gens go off, which both allows you some surprise attacks, and also encourages survivors to cleanse since it isn't an upside to stay broken now. The other is basically permanent aura reading on everyone and leaves you with a hell of a lot of room for doing whatever you want with perks as you never need to think about finding people.

    Everything else just feels lackluster. About half of them only affect corrupt which is rolling the dice if they'll do anything at all in a match, and the other half, while useful initially, become worthless after people break if you never need to infect them again.

    She's such a unique and... graphic... killer, but she's just so ruined for me by what she could be if she got some attention and INTERESTING add ons, especially something to motivate cleansing. Sadly all the devs see is "she gets kills, no changes needed."

    You are right, I can't deny that but I have to say even the "passive" Power of Plague is pretty good:

    • broken survivors are very loud - counters Iron Will
    • survivors are broken - counters any medkit / self-care / instaheal rendering these useless
    • as I described above, PWYF makes chases very spicy as it is very fun (for me, at least) to catch survivors with that extra speed (and Plague is already 115% speed killer at base!) where they absolutely do not expect it. And getting them juicy grabs, while with other killers you will certainly not even grab one survivor at a vault. Plague average is 5 to 7 grabs per game for me :D
