The shinning or It - which stephen king license would you rather have added into the game?

With the recent rumours which one would you wanted to be added?

For me it would have to be the shinning, the hotel is an iconic location, with that beautiful floor, and maybe an outside maze we could lose the killer on,

Jack would be also an interesting killer maybe "The father" and his power could be a mix of michael myers and bubba.

As a survivor, this might seem like an unpopular opinion but I rather have Dick Hallorann as the survivor over wendy, since she felt as the most annoying part of the movie

While IT wouldn't really fit the dbd lore since pennywise allready works as a type of entity, but who knows maybe devs will find a way to fit him!

What do you guys think?

    Neither, I want Carrie.

It by a large margin. What would Jack even do in this game? What would even be his power besides some kind of inbuilt whispers thanks to the Hotel ghosts spying for him?

Pennywise, but the overlook hotel as a map!

I'd happily take Jack, especially if he uses the axe to break pallets.

I don't think our resident killer clown would handle it well if we introduced a new killer clown without giving him some love first.

between those two, the shining if we get Shelly Duvall's character as the survivor.

From any Stephen King franchise, Carrie

Since there is already a clown, if we are choosing a Stephen King monster that actually fits into the framework of the game, my pick would be the werewolf from Silver Bullet.

There's no map in chapter 14.

So jack is out. No way he gets added without the hotel.

Pennywise doesn't really need a map, but I would like his sewer hideout.

It's obviously gonna be the truck with the green goblins face.

For me, it would be "HERE'S JOHNNY"

I would prefer It and Pennywise, mostly because “The Shinning” sounds rather painful. I’d like to keep my legs working properly, thank you.

I have my fingers crossed for Barlow and Father Callahan(maybe? Been a while since I’ve read it). Dbd could use a vampire killer.

Guys if you watch paulie's recently uploaded video he shows that this whole thing isn't really a big deal and bhvr could be diverting us... since DBD and Mcote have been following Mr. King since like 2016..... just don't get your hopes up.

IT probably, Jack isn't really as cool looking as Pennywise, what would his power be anyway? He doesn't really have any supernatural powers and I have no idea what the Entity could change about him to make him supernatural. Team Pennywise

Dark tower, and not the dumbass movie....

oh wait....If they wanted to make a character based off Stephen king, it could be called the Thief...

Powers: steals other characters original powers (like king does stories), waters them down (like kind dumbs down the stories he steals) and receive double bloodpoints for using them (like king does when he makes a ton of money from illiterate Americans who never cracked a book)

pS I'm not a Stephen king fan. I was...until I read the things most of his garbage is stolen from based off

Hmm...I have the distinct feeling you dislike King... probably just my imagination.

Based on King lore, I don't think they would allow Pennywise as he would be more powerful than the Entity. Same with Flagg.

Some good ideas in this thread.

I say Annie Wilkes with Paul Sheldon as survivor. She needs a sledgehammer and there is no map.

    Just my two cents.

I love kings work! I just liked it a lot better when the original authors published it.

Agree with this. I like Pennywise more as a killer but the Overlook would be an excellent map.

Pennywise would be the clear choice, they want to bring people into the game. While some of King's less recognizable antagonists would be cool, they are a lot less likely to do that.

Dammit! What gave it away!? King was never supposed to corner the young adult and tween horror market....that was mine....MINE

The hotel would be a much better map, but Pennywise would be a much better killer.

Jack Torrence is just meh, he's just a dude with an axe. Never understood how people got scared by The Shining.

Also from the fact that they just got Stranger Things, a much more current licence that got them a lot more attention, it's more than likely It.

Not pennywise, he's an eater of worlds. The entity can justifiably entice or coerce everyone so far. But pennywise or the being made of deadlights that humans can't comprehend, nah not for dbd.

I was just talking about a possible shining or IT DLC yesterday! Its a great idea for both! Personally I prefer IT, because I had an idea for Pennywise to have his killer power as the balloon, which he could use to float into the air and gain a scouting ability that he could easily see where survivours are for a certain time period of about 10 seconds (or whenever you want to float back down). He could use fear as a perk, who knows?

Regardless, I like both these ideas.

Pennywise is garbage and the new movies are marvel-tier trashfires.

Give me Charlie from Firestarter as the killer. She goes with the entity after the tragic end of the book, forever consuming people with fire.

Or let Bhvr get original -make them improv a semi-original killer by making them have the Gypsy from Thinner be a killer thst curses survivors a la old Freddy. I think they could riff off that really well.

Just anything but the stupid special effects clown.

I'd rather have an original concept, because I would like to not have to buy every DLC just to play the killers. : P

    For me personally: IT.

From a money making point of view: IT.

IT is a popular modern franchise and would be a big seller. A logical choice from a business prospective.

None of them. Pennywise does not fit and Jack Torrence even less.

I love IT, love the book and really enjoy both movies, even the masterful Tim Curry cheese. But here's the problem I foresee with Pennywise being a killer.

It'll just be another clown running around. Pennywise uses fear to flavour his 'meal' which entails using different forms based upon the person he's chasing. I don't see them doing a multi-form killer. Now I'm certainly not saying BHVR might not find a way around that, or perhaps flat out prove me wrong on the multi-form thing, but without that power set it's just going to be another clown with a different power set.

At the end of the day the novelty of Pennywise might just be enough for a large chunk of people, and from a business perspective it would make financial sense to hop on that particular bandwagon. It would just be a huge shame if we got the watered down version just for a cash grab.

If they based it off of the Kubrick movie The Shining would be a hoot. And why not Danny as the survivor? Oh what... you can murder adults but not little kids? lol...
