Can't connect to game
It gets stuck on Checking Platform Services then refuses to connect to game saying I need an internet connection. Clearly have one since I'm..you know...on the internet. Tried verifying game files, restarting comp, restarting wifi. Dunno. Maybe just uninstall for good?

@tortrader Hehe. Sometimes. I was just messing around on normal bots thinking: this will be easy as always. In the first five minutes the damned bots had a car already repaired and moving. Went and stopped that one, and not long thereafter the second car is going.
"?!!?" What the hell was up with those "normal" bots? I've not had human-played counselors get cars that fast. 🤣
Checked DbD again. . . . nope, still can't connect after it launches. Checked the Steam forums, four-page thread so far about this exact issue.
Checked Steamcharts: only slightly over 18k playing right now. So not a server load issue.
My only remaining thought? Great job Behavior. Queue the Benny Hill theme.

This would explain why my game suddenly ended after the third person died even though there was still one left.

I have had this same problem, to fix it I just checked the integrity of the game files with the steam option under game properties and it fixed it, hope this helps

Finally in boys and gals. All I did was close and reopen the game several times. Don't really know what the issue is but it's certainly on their side. It's no ones game or files. I know we all complain about it, well at least I do, but they really need to put some of their funds into the actual server side and not cosmetic side. Yes, two departments but of the same store.

I was having this just now and I tried switching from invisible to online on steam and it worked (I like to be invisible when I'm playing games alone so I don't get invitations. Not really a socialite, but some people are and can't get the hint after the first time I ignore the popup)

Full reinstall worked for me. Sorry for the delayed reply I had some weird internet issues to resolve.
Also if you are coming back to the game from an extended hiatus and notice long queues, reinstall. Even though your game updated it doesn't seem to go over smoothly.

@Tucking_Friggered I went and played F13 for an hour. Came back and got right into DbD. Whatever happened earlier seems to have been fixed, at least for my ability to login.
