PENNYWISE IS COMING...
C'mon Bhvr, we all know you're sitting over your desks right now frantically building a mothaflippin It DLC that I know I'm gonna blow all of my money on. Pennywise is one of the most iconic monsters of all time and right now he's especially in the limelight. Even if it takes a while I'm still gonna be excited for it.
If Pennywise does make his long awaited debut on our screens what do you think his power/perks will be??

I would be happy if he comes. I like his films. But I'm not going to guarantee that I will buy him. It all depends on his power and perks.

That would be pretty extreme reaction. A lot of people have been begging for him and the devs/bhvr follow Stephen King so its not impossible.

Pennywise isn't scary, he is countered literally by standing up to him
The only power he would be good with that is lore based is countered by SWF

I as many others would be annoyed about getting 3 liscensed characters in a row..
I want an original character to come out after a liscensed then another liscensed can arrive but -shrugs-

Okay, I'll pretend he's coming to DbD.
What I would like is for him to be another Madness user.
Lorewise, Entity can do anything to its Killers.
And we've heard stories of Entity either giving Powers or pulling in Killers who already have one.
How about a story in which a Killer is so powerful (IT) that Entity needs to downgrade the Power?
That would make it so IT was very powerful, but nothing beats Entity once you're in its realm.
Anyway, I just really like the idea of Madness, and I think we can do more than what Doctor shows.
Deadlights would inflict Madness btw.

I wouldnt care for yet another licensed killer. While "Oh cool, another killer ive seen before now in game"
Also "Yawn, can we got something original and 'brand new' to truly spice things up"
Pennywise as popular demand as he is among some of the community, would just feel kinda blah after back to back licensed killers.

I agree with this. As much as I enjoy the licensed killers, this game's original killers are pretty cool too.
Though, on a personal note, I've never found Pennywise a compelling villain and I think It is one of Stephen King's most overrated stories. It's more weird than scary, most of the actual horror comes from how crappy the people in that little town are.
When it comes to the game... I just don't see how Pennywise would fit. He's not a pursuit predator, he lures gullible victims to their demise. I don't know how that could be made into a playstyle that works with this game.
Killers like Myers and Bubba are iconic slashers, this game is heavily influenced by their cinematic escapades and they fit right in with minimal alteration. Even Freddy was molded into a serviceable form which captures the essence of his character, teleporting around and messing with people's heads.
What would Pennywise even do in a match? What would his power be?

I would MUCH rather see The Shining, Misery, and Gerald’s Game than It tbh. Also how cool would it be to have a wheelchair user as a survivor!!

Next chapter won't have a map and if we get Pennywise and no Sewer map then #########? That's a huge missed opportunity to having the grossest and most aesthetic map ever.
A Salems' Lot movie is being made and we have Doctor Sleep coming around the same time the next chapter is being released so maybe it's one of those?
I really hope the next Chapter isn't anything from Stephen because that means no map and if we get something from Doctor Sleep then that means no Overlook Hotel and if we get Salems' Lot that means no haunted house.
Either way whatever Killer we get next chapter we won't be getting a map and that is a huge no no when it comes to something as beautiful from the mind of Stephen King.
I mean who wouldn't want to run in the frozen maze of the Overlook hotel or run from Pennywise in his sewer?

That's not true, the losers club could do that because their PERSONAL circle created a white magic strong enough to hurt It.

Give me please some original chapter rather than keep adding allready existing things. It's no more special thing. Back in old days it was interesting, now it's just overhelming. But that's just my opinion.

If it's the new Pennywise, it's going to be laughable, he isn't scary at all, it's quite hilarious. I would love to see for now, not a licensed chapter, lets see what the devs can come up with.

Sadly I just don't think he would. Part of Pyramid Heads charm was the slow inevitability of his approach. The few times you had to fight him were in relatively enclosed spaces. He just wouldn't be the same if he moved as fast as even the slowest of our current killer roster. Like you I'd love to see him, but in my heart of hearts i know he'd just be a watered down version of the real thing and the appeal would very quickly wear off.
Unfortunately I have come to think the same of Pennywise. I'll admit, I've loved the book since i was a kid and so I know half of my issues with him being in DBD would be from fan girl overthinking. However I just don't see him being in the game without it being a severely diluted version which would just turn him into a Novelty killer.

Before we insert personal bias into this whole argument, think about how huge this could be for BHVR. Like it or not, diehard 80s horror fans, Stranger Things and IT are the two biggest names in horror currently. Stranger Things is the biggest chapter release to date and it shows with every single aspect that went into it. Mathieu stated very clearly, after ST, nothing is too big for them. They've earned the respect needed and proved themselves to competent game devs (sorry, Illfonic, you messed up) to handle hefty licenses. It, currently, is the biggest horror movie of the year. BHVR having the opportunity to take such a weighty license and, in turn, weighty paycheck and deciding not to go through is just a stupid marketing decision.
Personally, It is not my top license for this game. Hell, I don't even know what Pennywise would do as a killer since the whole gimmick of the book/movies is fear and inner strength. The point is, be excited that the Devs have the ability to pursue IT and Stranger Things, I know for a fact that when this game released I had no inklings that we'd be getting all the awesome content that we got.

I absolutely love licensed stuff so the more the merrier. Judging by the fact that the next chapter doesn't have a map and there have been 3 licensed releases without maps thus far, it's likely we will receive another licensed chapter soon. But I love original content too! 😁
