Emblems serve ZERO purpose for killers
I understand you need to hook and not camp X, Y, Z while playing killer. However, nothing i've done has changed the outcome of bringing a mori or something, everything a survivor does gives them points and status towards an emblem most of the time, it doesn't feel the same on killer. The max points you can get is 32k on killer side and i got 29k and still de-ipped. I know most of you would say it's because i didn't do the emblem's objective well enough but when you change the general game play of killer, and survivors gen rush and you have time to do almost nothing if you don't act wisely. I guess spending time building up a hex or killer perk to end a looping spree doesn't contribute
Overall you can make blood points but the ranking system for Killer is whack rn

It's a good foundation! Though again Killer is different and i think there's a lot that needs to be buffed. I've 4k'd with a pink mori and i get a loss is what it feels like, even if you drag it out it doesn't help all the time. You try to have a fun match and it's just a shin kick

It's impossible to drag things out with a pink mori, unless you don't use the mori. The pink mori literally halves your objectives.

I keep this as a reminder of what happens when you end the game too fast. Ive posted this screenshot before, but this was a 4k 5 gen game that lasts 2 minutes. Everyone died on first hook except 1 guy, who died on 2nd. As you can see, no camping was done. This was right before Freddys rework.

Just don't worry about pipping. It literally means you will be going against more toxic people who will troll you and call you names post game.
Stay low ranked. Have fun!

Ahh but you wont. You'll be looped and pallet dropped and run in circles against swf.
Solo survivors are rare at that rank. Top killers can beat solo survivors. Top killers can't beat top swf.
For casual players, ranking up is punishment. Best to stay in the lowbie ranks where the game is still about having fun.

I do just fine with my Freddy at any rank, thank you very much. I encourage people to try looping me and see what happens.

you must be the exception. I wish someone would post Just ONE video of a top ranked killer going against a top ranked swf group where the killer wins.
ANyway, it's a pvp game so there will always be those that can commit time and energy to excel (and they deserve it), but even playing casuall y, I can hit red ranks and be paired with people that spend HOURS a day in this game.
I am casual. How on earth am I set up against 4 red ranks....oh yeah...rank means nothing in this game.
a new player spends 2 hours and he will be ranked with purples. Lol what?
For casuals, best advice is to depip.

I havent been able to spend nearly as much time as id like to online, between work and watching a very fussy 5 month old. Also, your right about rank... It doesnt mean everything. Just got done with a game where the best ranked survivor completely screwed over their team by camping all the best pallets on the map on the first chase. Every chase after that ended SUPER fast.

IMO, the previous pip system we had where it was based on survivors hook states and how many you killed was so much better. You're a killer, you should be pipped by how well you can kill, not all this extra bull.

The emblem system is too over complicated and imo needs completely overhauled. How well the game feels you did comes down to who you verse being good enough so you can earn the emblems.
The problem with that is with less skilled players whom you should be highly rearwded for playing verses and pushed away from like in the Lords post you are actually hindered and more likely to stay playing verse them. It's quite strange tbh.
This is why the emblem and rank system being used for match making doesn't seem to work as for one it's really too easy to manipulate so you can chose where to play.
The emblems have been a way to try and force players into playing in such a way so its fun. The problem with that comes down to what a player want out of the game. Some want blood points, others to rank up and some just want to kill and other eant engaging chases.
I've stated my opinion a few times and I personally feep the rank system would be better off changed into a progression system and the matchmaking then becomes a seperate entity with more factors. This way at it may become less competative as its kore about points and no matter where you may be on the progression ladder it won't affect who you play versus so new players in theory will no longer be matched with 5k hour ones.

It was too easy to get to Rank 1, that's why it was changed.
I honestly prefer getting people in Red Ranks that know what they're doing, rather than potatoes that should be in Green Ranks...

Its the same for survivors. It's very dumb. I have had games that I recieved less then 10k and pipped. Then have had games where I got 25k and depipped or black pipped. It seems very broken.

Facts for both killer and survivor I hate being red ranks. It's not fun to have to play sweaty to have a chance. When in red ranks it's so much harder to enjoy the game with funny builds. And still have a chance to survive longer then 5mins.

People are still saying ranking up is easy and have been saying it for about a year or more. It is ridiculious that survivor objectives are basically "dont afk" while the killer has to play suboptimally to get a double pip or even single pip if one or 2 survivors suicide on hook.

For Survivors its still easy yeah, for Killers it kinda isn't.
You only really need to just play with half a mind to get a pip as a Survivor, as Killer you gotta work for it more.

That is also true, but if they increased the difficulty even more, it wouldn't have a point... Since why work hard to get to a rank that doesn't reward you in anyway... You don't get rewards for being Rank 1 (Not until they add the ones they said they were gonna do in the future)
So... Its kinda odd to have any of us work for something that doesn't give us anything, maybe longer que times I guess?

I'd much rather have the emblem system than the old sacrifice system. You get points towards your emblems by delaying the endgame, ending chases fast, applying pressure, and getting sacrifices, and if you can do all of that, you clearly deserve to rank up.
Back when only sacrifices mattered, camping and cheesy kills with NOED were very viable. All you needed were two sacrifices and 1 extra hook to pip. Hard camping and using NOED secured at least a black pip 99% of the time, and that's not fun or engaging for either side. The bloodpoint system was also bad since you could rank up extremely easily

This is why we can ask for these issues to be buffed out so more fun can be brought to playing killer in higher ranks

I just becomes irrelevant after a while, especially as casually as I play. And frustrating. At least in other PvP games you can choose your level...ranked or casual (or some variation). I wish they would add rank rewards and a separate league (non ranked) for more casual players.
I would. No rewards for playing against elite/hardcore players. There is absolutely NO incentive to rank up in this game. \
Exactly! There is only 1 downside to playing in low ranks: sometimes as killer it is hard to signal to farm when 1-2 survivors DC. I don't think newer players always understand you want to farm when a couple DC.
Then again, if they fixed the swf issue, it probably wouldn't be a problem, but that's a discussion for another thread ha!
