What do you guys think Mettle of Man should really work (+Idea of my own)

So mettle of Man is garbage. You waste all that time getting 3 stacks and your whole team is probably dead.
How about just make it a reverse borrowed time?
when you get unhooked, you get resistance for 30 seconds (reason for 30 is because you can only use it 2 times compared to borrowed time which you can use 6 times) and you get mending when have t for 10/15/20 seconds (or 15/20/25 seconds I forgot) if somebody has borrowed time and says you it won’t stack meaning you have 39 seconds not 45. Once you are hit resistance goes away.
(Side note - I think ds should have a timer of 20/25/30 and timer doesn’t go down when getting chased, but that’s my opinion not for this discussion)
what do you think the mettle of Man rework should be?

It should be borrowed time but when you unhook the survivor it applies it to you instead. Basically splitting the old BT into two perks.

But that would encourage tunneling, as if you were injured and get the unhook, than the killer hits you, you get away but the other survivor doesn't.

Why 29?
That's eating away at my OCD.

My thing keeps changing it. I mean 20

Or they could simply make Mettle of Man active based on total amount of prerequisites achieved.
For example, the requirements for Mettle of Man to activate are currently 3 protection hits. That is seriously too much.
You can keep protection hits in, but if you add in another requirement such as Safe-hook rescues or totem cleanses or even generator completetions and just allow these different prerequisites to be combined until a total amount of 3 are met, then I feel it would make Mettle of Man more useful.
Maybe generator cleanses and totem cleanses would be too much, but something simple like Safe-hook rescues could work.
TL;DR: Don't make Mettle of Man require 3 protection hits. Instead, give the perk another option as a prerequisite and allow the prerequisites to be combined until a total of 3 of the requirements are met.

I agree if it was borrowed time for the unhooker that would be great

No. It's totally fine that perks can protect the person who gets unhooked, but the unhooker has to stay vulnerable. Otherwise unhooking would become an almost no-risk-involved endeavour.

You can't buff Mettle of Man without making it OP again. Not without changing what the perk does, wich is allow you to tank a hit.
If you want to make Mettle of Man a more reliable perk you have to change its effect to something less powerfull, with more drawbacks or some ability for the killer to play around the perk.

No, just fix/change protection hits and it's gonna be fine off meta perk for fun builds.
