Survivors discovered new DC'ing method
Literally every game at least one person does this type of DC. Survivors just disconnecting from thier internet connection, and that allows them to not lose thier items and rank either. It is annoying af. But who cares, devs won't do anything about that anyways.

i thought DCing did make you lose progression

SWF are regularily using this since that mode was introduced to either give their buddies the hatch or create duplicates of their purple saphir lens-red bulb flashlights (or both).

There are 2 types of DC, One when you click Esc button and then you click leave the game, if someone do this type of DC there is special sound and you lose rank. The other dc is when suvivor disconnects from he's interent connection, when someone do this type of DC there is no sound. You don't lose any rank or items as i mentioned earlyer

Thanks for letting us know

This is ancient and has been possible forever

No, for some reason the Ash DLC patch came with the safety of not losing pips when you purposefully DC. So there's no penalty, there's no fear and you can pick and chose what games you want to play.
You lose 2 pips when you DC, but you're back where you left off when you re-load your game.
As a Nurse main, 90% of the time the first person I find and down DC's, making it a 3 man game for the rest of the match, OR sometimes, a 1 man game for the rest of the match if they're a SWF.

Pretty good job so far...

That’s kinda hard to punish though because if they just start punishing people who do that they will also have to punish people who legitimately lose their internet connection

The solution would be to punish people who do it too frequently. If someone's internet connection is bad enough that it would trip such a system, that would say more about their internet than the system.

An unfortunate, but small price to pay. While it sucks to punish the innocent, it shouldn't take too much time to regain lost progress due to disconnects out of your control.
However, the far more intelligent solution would be to give compensation to those in the match who have to deal with disconnects and then put timed delays before you can play again that slowly ramp up in delay time based on frequency of disconnects. Every major game with similar matchmaking and disconnect problems does this with noticeable benefits, but I guess that's not obvious enough.

Wow, why they do that?! Whan we have SO MANY counetplays agains Nurse! Why do they avoid having fun to beat her with pallets and run through the windows when she is so slow?🤡

LOL, survivors pull the plug since 2016 already to keep their items. I think this issue can or will only change when dedicated servers are live. Btw, using the "Leave match" button never keeps your item/addons but you always lose 2 pips then.

This is as old as DBD itself.

First of all if you have bad connection you don't play online games. Second, in every multiplayer game leaving the game purposley or not is giving you some sort of punishment. Dead by Daylight shloudn't be exception. For example in league of legends noone asks you, if you rage quited or you just have bad internet you get a 20 min because, you left your team in a 4 vs 5 situation and that probably led your team to lose.

Yeah, my friend always "pulls the plug" whenever he is about to die on hook so that he can keep his flashlights.
:- \
I am hoping a ban will humble his trigger happy dcing, not to be mean but it's kinda ridiculous.

It isn't new.
I wouldn't be so quick to blame survivors as it happens that there was a new DLC drop and game stability isn't the greatest.
Does this compound the existing issue of DC's, yes for sure. That being said I've played enough to know if a survivor has good add ons and/or streamers and there's been a new patch/dlc they aren't generally DC-ing because they want to.
Same for killer. Can't tell you how many times I've played as survivor and I see 4-5 bloody streamers and get a dc from the killer.
I get it. It is an issue on both sides but now just compounded.

Killers pull the plug too... I mean I've seen it... just cleanse their ruin... boom. Game Over.
