Freddy's "Buff" can backfire
So in the recent patch the survivors will gain the oblivious status effect when entering the dream world, that means no more borrowed time if you unhook someone while asleep, ok cool but terror radius perks no longer work (unnerving presence, overwhelming presence, coulrophobia), these 3 perks aren't that amazing and nobody really cares if they don't work but it is still a nerf nonetheless, but the most important is Object of Obsession.
The aura read will be disabled when entering the killer's terror radius, but freddy has no terror radius, which means you can see his aura even if he's right next to you, this can give you a tremendous advantage if you play this right, what good will it do if freddy is able to see the survivor's aura? the survivor is in 3rd person and the killer is in 1st person which means the survivor has the upper hand when it comes to reading the aurs of the killer in a loop.
oh and with sole survivor, 1 token will be enough to see freddy's aura during a chase without him seeing you.

Yea but they are in dream state constantly to have that effect and you can also see them. it sucks if a team is running it though

Imagine running Black Box against an OoO user, the obsession would get to know all your moves all the time and God help you if he is in a SWF team on top of that.
Ironically the perk that used to be countered by old Freddy now it's killing him LOL.

Just one of the downsides of keeping the game consistent. I'm not happy about it but, eh, what can you do?
I did initially want OoO to just get reworked but now that they've added these effects I fear that option is off the table (at least for a while).

i agree, i think the undetectable status effect is stupid, the only issue was OoO and instead of reworking the perk they made a new status effect that hurts alert and dark sense for no real reason, even hag and trapper can be crippled by object of obsession, and now freddy's on the table

Yeah, you can't use mindgames against the OoO user. But as you said, Freddy isn't affected that hard by Borrowed Time anymore. I think it's an okay trade.

This happened to me ='(. It was not fun.

That happened to me, I was a survivor though. :P (not swf though)

Freddy can at least still try to make something happen with his snares in a chase. He isn't as screwed over by OoO as Ghostface is. He also messes with BT way more effectively. It's a worthwhile trade.

The sad thing is that after they finally add the undetectable to all stealth killers, it will take at least 6 months for anything to happen (if anything happens at all) to OoO.

At that point nothing should happen to OoO. It's whole purpose is to be a powerful survival ability that comes with a dear price. Nerfing it directly after an indirect nerf through the undetectable status would be Overkill.

OoO is a double edged sword. Generally, you don't want the killer to see your aura when you are close. Sole Survivor is an interesting interaction, but requires that you have dead team mates. And are you really going to run OoO and Sole Survivor every single match just on the off chance that you play against Freddy? Cause there is like a 90% chance on any given match that you won't be playing against Freddy.

So what?

He has oblivious, I’ve used OoO against new Freddy and always saw him since he used a black box.

Unicorn Block has entered the chat.

Soon all freddy players shall learn the POWAH of Unicorn Block, and I will no longer be it's only user
Seriously you equip that and the OoO player is frigging doomed, you'll be able to see their aura and they won't. You'll have continuous wall hacks in every chase

It's not a nerf. It's a tremendous buff.
Consider that BT is powerful and a meta perk, much more useful than OOO. OOO is only really dangerous against the right kind of survivor. Almost nobody runs OOO.

The drawback isn't that bad if I'm gonna be honest. Most survivors don't care if the killer can see them. If the perk had an actual drawback maybe it wouldn't need to be changed.
