Tired of the gen rush? Ruin just won't cut it?
It's simple, to all my killer friends.
Gaurd the 3 gens in close proximity with your life. You can still get 3 or even 4 kills with out ruin.
My fav is sloppy butcher/blood hound/colorophobia/and destressing. Makes finding an injured survivor easy and forces them to waste a bunch of time healing in your TR, or they play injured which is what we want. Pop and surge also fit in nicely.
Patrol your 3 and jet out to pressure a couple more but always return to your 3. If one is being worked on but no survs around, don't be fooled, they aren't far.
Trust, once I adopted this, survivors quickly regret rushing the easy gens and are forced into the belly of the beast.
See you in the fog....

do this with doc for even more fun!

This strategy does not work if survivors know how to play the situation. If you follow your strategy, typically it means you don't chase too far and then there are 4 players left at the end of the game trying to get the last gen (even though they've three gen-ed themselves).
Then, they simply split into 2 pairs and work on the 2 gens in the triangle that are furthest apart. If you chase off one Gen, they immediately work on the other and vice versa.
They win through attrition.
I propose that you never run Ruin alone and always pair it with another anti-gen perk (or maybe 2), such as pop goes the weasel, thanatophobia, or dying light.

well what you want to do is 3gen build and while it can do sth, when you overdo it its bannable (literally keeping game hostage) if im right if after 10mins of guarding 3 gens you wont hook anyone you may get banned (because you blocked objective for survs but youre not doing yours) so be aware of that

guarding 3 gens and playing the game isn't taking the game hostage and you can't get banned for it.
2 -
@ImmortalReaver if you wont do your objective (hook survs) and makes survs unable to do their (3gen doc build isnt called hostage doc for nothing) it is bannable, because its literally keeping game hostage
Edit: i found it on forum in game rules:
GRIEFING: INTENTIONAL GAMEPLAY ABUSE
- Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates
- Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience
- Holding the game hostage
- In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

I do chase far, one can afford to early game to get a few hooks in, and this has been resulting in at least 2k a game and constant piping. While I will admit at first there were a few 0 and 1k games because I hadn't made sufficient hooks before it got to the 3 and they knew what was going on.
I don't intend to nor have I held a game. Hostage, it just forces everyone to the same area of the map, making it like shooting fish in a barrel.
Slugging also works great with this strat if you swap sloppy with deerstalker

I like this guy

No, that's not how it works. If survivors come to you and give up and you refuse to hook or down them then it's bannable. You do not have to let them win. Slugging is fine as they will bleed out and if their team mate heals them that is not the killers issue.
This misunderstanding and clarification came from a GM for DBD banning someone in their own game for using a 3 gen strategy even after they gave up and went to the hooks waiting to be downed. The killer refused to even down them which means they could not bleed out. The survivors were held hostage between quitting out and inability to progress the game to conclusion.
Had those survivors refused to give up the game could still be going a year later and the killer would not be banned.

Couldn't agree more. I was trying to be short and to the point though. I'd rather get rushed and have those 3 left, then get rushed and have 3 spread across the map, so while pressuring and chasing, those three are where I return too after
A) I get a hook.
B) I've givin up on an extended chase.
C) a gen in that area goes off.
When I return either non have been touched which means it's safe to go pressure else where, or there is progress on one and then it's game time.
What I don't do is just lurk around waiting for them to be the last to do.

3-Gen works against scrubs but if the team knows what they're doing you'll eventually lose.

The point is its best to have these three be the last 3 left available. It's a much more ideal situation then having one gen left for them to complete and it be a 60sec lap to patrol the last remaining gens.
I don't run ruin, I find it boring and my hex luck is notoriously bad, they fall well before it was worth wasting a perk slot on. So I play into to rush and make sure the easiest to patrol are the last they have to do.

many maps have enough gens far enough away from each other to render the 3gen patrol completely pointless if the survivors aren't potatoes. Especially if it's a SWF that can instantly communicate whatever activity the killer is up to.

Map pressure is best tool againts gen rushing.
Sadly, only few Killers have power that helps them doing map pressure and the rest have hard time if they are chasing good Survivor who knows how to run loops. Then the Killer is RIP.

@Zephy ofc some maps are so big you cant 3gen, but there is couple of maps build this way so 3gen is extra effective: the game, suffocation pit, azarov resting place, coal tower, and on some maps 3 gens will naturally spawn next to each other (like on haddonfield)
well if you didnt killed single surv before camping 3 gens it will be hard, but even then if you have hostage doc build you will be able to prolong game long enough to get banned

Im pretty sure no matter what the size of the map, there are always 3 gens that spawn in close proximity
No one denies that, buuuuuuuut The point is its best to have these three be the last 3 left available. It's a much more ideal situation then having one gen left for them to complete and it be a 60sec lap to patrol the last remaining gens

I read this like an infomercial. Made it so much better.

Doc's 3-gen strat is a living meme. It doesn't work if still 4 survivors are alive, or if the the team is semi-decent.
The best 3-gen strategies are with killers who are able to down really ######### quick, and with good mobility. Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Hag, Huntress, possibly Myers, Ghostface, or Trapper too.

I never understood why pc had such ease to succeed ruin skillchecks. After Watching a bunch of vids I finally understand.
The "great" skillcheck area is ENORMOUS on pc. I guess it's to make it easier since you guys are using kb and mouse but lbh THIS is why ruin is irrelevant.

There is a reason people hate "Sniper Doc". On some maps you can literally stand still and hit all 3 gens. While this is fun I wouldn't suggest just sitting in one spot though because that is holding the game hostage.
On a side note its also one of my favorite builds for totally unrelated reasons! ^.^''

Im glad, I was trying to bring some thinly vailed humor to this place.
I'll be the judge of that
