The Spirit really doesn't need a nerf

Its not illogical if you negate the very thing that almost every prayer beeds user wants, which is those sweet gen grabs... I explained a small portion of what you can do against spirit...

Lol iridescent syringe is bull too but I don’t mind seen it cause it’s an iridescent and ultra rare.
Prayers Beads being made iridescent or ultra rare would decrease their availability and by default less used. Therefore a compromise for both killers and survivors.
It is not a thoughtless idea. A thoughtless idea is one that demands change but offers no tangible or constructive feedback aka your post.
3 -
There are 3 Ultra Rares killers might get in their bloodweb compared to the 8 Very Rare available.
Decrease their availability my ass.
1 -
You're a beautiful person.
2 -
Ok fine you win, let’s just keep Prayers beads as very rare :)
Have fun playing against more Prayer Beads.
0 -
Have fun trying to excuse bullshit.
0 -
I don’t need an excuse you provide all the bull I need to make my point.
1 -
Your entire point was Prayer Beads shouldn't get reworked because of Ultra Insta-heals.
2 -
Lol that was not my point go back and read.
0 -
Okay.
- insta heals r bad mkay?
- changing the rarity means your less likely to find it
- ranting about calling an idea thoughtless
Sounds about right?

Thank you kindly :)

Theres a radius for sound in this game so and sound for survivors do get muffled by certain other things such as gens, chase music (when first starting to phase and when coming out of phase) ... hey at least I'm actually attempting to help, even if it is someone who clearly doesnt want the help its players who just want a good character nerfed so they can do the samething they do against the majority of killers.
0 -
Almost...
- Insta heals feel powerful but I’m okay with it because it’s an ultra rare and therefore acceptable because that’s what an iridescent add-on should be.
- Yes if the rarity of an add-on is increased by definition it will be less a available. People are more likely to think twice before using a power iridescent add-on and usually save them for special occasions due to their rarity. Therefore I think Prayer Beads perfectly fits this criteria.
- And well about the rant idk but it is just a back and forth between you and me. I’m okay with it, makes for a good community discussion.

I think the general view of spirit is split into two parties: the one that thinks she's fine and the one that thinks she's not.
I have a feeling that everyone is slightly missing the point. Spirit isn't "OP" in the sense that her power is Nurse-like. She still needs to respect boundaries such as pallets, windows and general map structures.
The problem with Spirit is this:
She's boring to play against, because playing against a spirit is a guessing game, not a mindgame.
I'll try and picture this a bit more clearly:
- Mindgame: Just like Chess
- With Chess, both parties start on equal footing. In DbD, this is a simple pallet loop mindgame: Both parties make a move, and one party will win a move when another makes the wrong one. What differs this from a guessing game is that you can see what your opponent is doing. They just moved their Horse and my Queen is in its targetting area, better move her away. In DbD, a mindgame is similar: The killer moved left, I noticed this, I can now move the other way. But wait, I just saw that he has set up to double back all along, I change my direction and hope I can still win this.
- Guessing game: Like Whack-A-Mole
- You don't know where the mole is going to pop out from but you make a guess! Hit! Nice. Next one! Missed... now the mole is gone, I lost. In DbD, facing Spirit is like this, except this time the mole is trying to whack you and you need to dodge it. You've got no clue where the mole, or the Spirit, will pop out from. But the mole knows where you are. You can guess and hope the mole missed or that you dodge it succesfully, or you can get a hammer on the nose. You've got a 50/50 chance of winning this and no tactics will help you, because if you dodge left to early, the mole will just pop out on the left and hit you.
This is honestly a stupid example but it encompasses exactly what's going on when facing a Spirit, you'll just need a tiny bit of imagination. Facing a spirit, beads or not, is a guessing game. She'll know where you are, but you don't know where she is. You can drop the pallet, but how do you know if she's not already on the same side as you? She has ways to track your every move, you don't.
This doesn't make Spirit "broken" the same level a Nurse can be when she laughs in Blink as she teleports through the loop and gives you surgery, but it does make her incredibly annoying and frustrating to play against, as your fate is in the simple hands of a coin toss.
1 - Mindgame: Just like Chess

This just in.
Killer Kills Survivors.
Survivors demand killer be nerfed.
"Its not fair she hooked me!" - Survivor using SWF with an insta heal and full Meta Perks.
2 -
Normally yes, however with Prayer Beads she can hit you before you even know that you are supposed to be running.
0 -
You have no entitlement to a reliable chase ender or safe option. If you were given that then survivors could master the system and never lose.
There is one failsafe though you can always rely on. Remain stealthy. She can't hit what she can't find.
1 -
Figured I would help u.
1 -
If a perk is needed too counter a killer, who you have a roughly 1/17 chance of fighting, there is a problem. She has no practical counterplay, and the ones that exist are Iron Will and Spine Chill, but no one should be forced too use a perk on the off chance they get that killer. Bringing Iron Will against someone like Trapper is pretty much useless.
2 -
IW is always good
1 -
I disagree. It's pretty pointless against killers like Wraith and Hag, who don't need too hear you too find you. Plus the killer can just use their eyes or bring perks like Whispers too find you anyways.
0 -
Yet I lose everyone anyways. Between IW, Q&Q and my cosmetics I do extremely well against every killer. IW may be stronger against certain killers, but it's always useful.
Btw IW is not the hard counter ppl act like it is against Spirit.
1 -
Thank you :) this is a visual representation of my point of why rarity change is good compromise.
0 -
No problem I did no addons when she was p3 lvl 50 and decided to get all the perks on her for ps4. So it's a pretty accurate representation of what you get. I can also get offerings if this would help you.
1 -
Haha no need I think we have made the point. Good teamwork!
0 -
Tbh I think they need to be changed completely not a change in rarity, but wanted to help regardless. Because I am getting bloodwebs like these nowadays

Legion was considered op when it first came out. Almost every game included at least one survivor dcing sometimes 4. Same thing is starting to occur against Spirit. We can go back and forth about nerfing or not nerfing spirit but eventually if enough survivors find her too op, they will start dcing like crazy (more than usual). I see it coming.
0 -
You forgot that the meta Spirit would get countered by is also the one meta no one likes to play. So instead of adapting to playing stealth and being like a blendette people prefer to loop the one killer who has the single highest non broken chase potential in the game. If she stays the same people will adapt to her just like they have with Nurse. Everyone wants to get nerfs because why learn something though. I still get people who dnt know how to play against plague, freddy, and legion.
Otherwise your examples were spot on and how I tell people on psn.

Haha aw man, now I wished I’d P3. I kept mine in default and bought cosmetics instead.
0 -
It's never too late my Feng Min is p3 all perks all cosmetics I usually just play with whatever cosmetics suit my mood at the time.
Spirit is p3 all perks some cosmetics I usually like the school girl outfit, but switched recently to the one in the picture above.
Personally I think you should only prestige the killers you main and enjoy while only doing one Survivor of each gender.
Wish I knew this before I p3 everyone on PC
1 -
Haha I know right if I could go back I would probably have made different decisions specially in unlocking teachables.
My first P3 was Freddy before the recent rework, haha it it I wasn’t a great introduction to the prestige system lol

You play who you like man dont be ashamed of that.

SPIRIT CHASE MUSICCCCCCCCC:
2 -
Legion is an entirely different topic. That killer had literally zero counterplay. They would mindlessly stab you over and over until you got downed and there was nothing you could do. You could use franks mixtape and each chase would become a joke.
0 -
You see DBD commented on it?
0 -
Yes I hope they use it in a chase theme pack in the store and give the guy who made it a % of the monies made.
1 -
do u not know how long she can stay in phase? there's plenty of time for her to catch up to you from that distance. what are u on about??? and i only added that edit because u seemed to think she was much further away for her not to catch up. guess I was right
0 -
every spirit player resorts to this. i don't care that spirit is strong, I care about the fact that she has no counterplay and isn't fun to face in the slightest.
I know full well sounds get muffled. u said to drop a pallet to muffle my sound LOL. that's ridiculous
1 -
every other killer that isnt nurse or spirit has something reliable. pallets and windows. did u forget? also they aren't chase enders either, I didn't ask for that
and I acknowledged the stealth bit earlier. only proves my point u cant do anything against her in chase
0 -
Dropping a pallet she has to guess which side your on... your sound gets muffled giving you time to run away.... even .5 seconds is a lot in this game it can decide whether you get away or die...
I've ran in a giant circle, knowing that she can hear but cant see and can only see my scratchmarks which has gotten to be a really big area of scratchmarks, she came out of phase confused...... it's all about manipulating... even if she can hear us you can manipulate that...
But you truly dont want to have a discussion... much rather say how ridiculous I am..... even if I dont have an issue with going against her and you clearly do seems how you have this belief she has no counter.
0 -
oh just rely on the spirit not being able to determine where sound is coming from? thanks for the advice! gonna go derank to 15 since that's the only place this will work
:/
everything you've told me to do I've already tried against good players and in kyf, the only time they worked is when sounds were broken lmao
0 -
You definitely dont seem like the player to challenge yourself anyway.
0 -
She just needs more counters that's all.
0 -
I can say the same for u since u play spirit lmfao

Well, I'm not saying to nerf Spirit. I'm just stating why I think she's getting so much hate, and that also encompasses how I personally also feel about Spirit. I absolutely have no fun playing against her.
Also, stealth is more or less a viable option, but not entirely. You're bound to get found at some point when facing an experienced killer and there's another myriad of "issues" that make stealth, as the game currently stands, a very weak option for survivors.
I'll refer you to a comment I made on another post here recently, one about how survivors are too strong in chases. My comment is about why that is and talks about why survivors need that strong chase game: stealth is too weak - for a variety of reasons. Some points will apply here also, as such: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/722560#Comment_722560

Hey u need to give a survivor a challenge some how...
0 -
She stays in phase for what, 10 seconds? If she finds you and you run into a jungle gym and she uses her power to catch up, if you go straight to that window, she won't catch up.
0 -
Her phase is 5 seconds and that 5 seconds starts as soon as you press the button so its not even 5seconds of movement..
1 -
glad you're admitting to spirit being a brainless killer.
