Shrine of secret teachable
I just opened up dbd and like I tend to the first thing I do is go to the store and look at the shrine of secrets. I was looking through them and saw a perk I already unlocked I was just gonna ignore it but then I saw it said "already owned. Buy again and receive: 150000 bloodpoints" And now I'm stuck in a tough decision. I don't buy many things in the shrine of secrets as a lot of the perks I either would only use once or wouldn't use in general but since I haven't been playing for all that long I still only have 2895 iridescent shards and now I'm not sure what to do. Should I bite the bullet and take the bloodpoints or not buy it again and wait for a perk that I'll actually use to come around?

Personally, I wouldn't buy it. If you double down with BBQ and a BPS (Bloody Party Streamer) or pudding, than you'll either hit 80k or if you're lucky another BPS is in the lobby you'll hit 120k.
Spending shards on something like that is only worth it if it's the first day release of a new Killer or something, I wouldn't waste shards on it on anything else casually, and even though I said you should probably consider it on a day one release of a new DLC, I still don't do it lmao.
It's because of how long it takes to get shards, is why I don't throw them around willy nilly. It's better to save them and use them on a skin that isn't Auric Cells only anymore, or something else like a older skin you're interested in.

personally, i'd use the shards for cosmetics.
though, if you wish to purchase something on the shrine, i'd wait for the perks to appear from chapters you dont own.
i wouldnt cash in shards for bloodpoints anymore, since, like i said, there are also cosmetics available for them now.

@__Panda__ Don't buy. I HIGHLY suggest waiting for the perk you want. Bloodpoints are far easier to obtain than shards. And especially because you said you only just started playing. Daily rituals will give you a good amount of bloodpoints and shards are not AS easy to get.
There could be something you want that is on a killer or survivor that you don't own and that you really want. And might save you from buying that character (if it isn't one you want, but you want the perk.) If that makes sense :) ALSO. You may want the character and those cost quite a bit of shards, so saving them will be hugely beneficial to you in the future. And gives you way more options to work with. Be it characters, shrine perks, cosmetics...
Learn from my mistakes, when you want shards and don't have them, it sucks lol.

I usually save my shards for cosmetics, but I also try to save some for when the PTB comes out so I can spend them all for BP (Shards spent in the PTB don't save so you might as well spend them).
For perks I usually just level up the character, except for Ruin because I just got the game and planned to buy the original characters with shards (so it would have been a while before I got Hag)... until I gave up after buying Clown/Kate with shards and just bought the rest of the DLCs :P
