Constant DC = dead game
New survivor and it seems about 85% of games you get at least one person to DC when there are 4-5 gens still left. At this point unless everyone is on point its gg. I just suicide on the hook at that point usually.
We need a gen to pop per DC or some other mechanic, 3 hits to down or something....
Anyone else seeing this?

i have noticed an odd rise in DCs recently. like you said, seems to be at least one person a game most of the time. usually seems out of nowhere too.

I DCed my last game because it wasn’t fun. Was being tunneled. I like to have fun on the game

So do the other people on the team you ditched.

Oh. I didn’t know that. Thank you but I was talking about me personally tho. And I’ll ditch, I’m not having fun and I don’t know the people I’m playing with, so...

Low rank survivors always DC a ton, because they're noobs with overly high expectations. They expect to run in and escape the killer all the time and do gens because they saw Noob3 do it. So when they get down quickly by a decent killer, they rage quit.
Once you get to higher ranks, it doesn't happen as often. Definitely not 85%.

Unfortunately, that's exactly the kind of self-serving attitude that creates division and toxicity within the community.

True, but when I buy a game, I expect to have fun with it. I played plenty of games I’ve lost but it was so much fun, no tunneling or camping. But I just enjoy having fun, hey

Not going to happen. That affects the killers defender emblem. The one for gens. This is a survivor entitlement issue that the survivor community created. Killers have no bearing on the issue nor should they be punished for it.
My suggestion is that you support harsh penalties for DCs and bring scorn to those who do not. It does affect you personally.

dedicated servers should introduce a new punishment system for DCs.
but yeah, currently its just ridiculous how many just quit for whatever reason...

Do like League of Legends. You can't play another match until the one you abandoned is over. And the more you DC, the longer your time penalty is.
In League, if you AFK or DC from a match, you have to wait for 5 minutes before you're even allowed to jump into a queue. And then it goes up from there until you have to wait 30 minutes before you're even allowed to queue up.

it will probaply be similar in DbD, once the dedicated servers are fully released.
though we have no official statement on how exactly it will play out, so we might get surprised here!

There needs to be some form of punishment for dcing im not saying it needs to be super harsh but just something more than not getting any blood points that game because dcing tends to screw the survivors and its annoying for killers when their about to hook someone or kill some one just for them to dc and its worst when you get some one who dcs when their downed for the first time maybe not letting them play for half an hour or something would be a good punishment

And you wonder why some people will tunnel and camp when they know there will be someone who DC's. Back with old DS i use to go after them first to make them waste it early on because i knew they would then DC and make my life easier.

You can't expect to have fun in a game where your opponent needs to squash you to win.
That's thr nature of asymmetric and that's why it is so toxic

Actually you can. I think I said in a previous post, if not, I meant to but, I had fun losing and winning, not tunneling. I had a lot of games where I died, the whole team, half the team and wasn’t tunneled and had a bunch of fun. I had plenty of games when I escaped. Getting tunneled purposely with so many games in a row isn’t fun for me. So I dc to get in another game and potentially have fun. I honestly don’t care to escape all the time. Just be able to play the game because, it is well, meant to be fun from my understanding of a game.

I notice many DCs happen after first survivor gets downed (the one DC'ing is the downed survivor).
All I can say, being found and downed first does not mean the game is over for You already and there's no point in staying. The game is not over until You die on the hook; even if You're downed and dead on next hook and killer is already picking You up there's still a chance You can get away somehow (either DS, or Flip-Flop, or Boil Over, or teammates may pull off some amazing save or block the hook for You).
In my experience, I could get downed and hooked first, then camped and tunneled after getting saved and gethooked again in a very short period of time, but I would still escape in the end. Granted, the first part of the game would make me extremely tilted, but DC'ing or killing Yourself on hook would only reward the Killer, and I saw no reason to make such scuzzball happy, no?

> "I just suicide on the hook"
Any sympathy I might have had for you has now vanished. As both a killer and survivor, I hate it when people kill themselves on hook. Just as bad as the people who DC imo.

That's actually a good idea. Then if two people DC they get to watch me farm with the remaining survivors lol

They simply need to punish people who DC. Sadly if you add in a mechanic that gives the remaining survivors a "boost" (such as the gen or hit ideas as you mentioned) it will get abused by SWF groups.
I'm not saying this to make all SWF sound toxic, they are not, but there are loads of people out there who try and exploit every little thing they can.

this game is not dying anytime soon OMEGALUL

Not saying this happened to you because I wasn’t in your game... but there’s also a DC bug that is in the game where the game kicks you out of the match.
i’ve seen streamers experience in this I got kicked yesterday for no reason... this started with the ST patch.

BVHR would do well to start with a DC punishment system like this. It's much less severe than handing out suspensions and a better way to handle it.
Also suiciding on first hook is just as bad as DC.
