With the new Nurse Cooldown, should Nurse base Speed be adjusted to at least 4m/s?
Title. I'm thinking with the cooldown in place it might be a time to look at her base move speed.

Nope. It would be too powerful. If I'm a new survivor playing against nurse and I get frustrated or don't feel strong, I won't spend money on the game.

And then you get to high rank and find that you have no competition, because devs have nerfed solid counters to swf to make newer players happy. Okay.
5 -
Nurse is not a "solid counter" to SWF.
Strong nurse is a bad bandaid fix to SWF at best.

Correction: New SURVIVOR players.
and yes. A survivor that is succeeding and having fun is a survivor that will drop money. I discussed it in another thread but survivors make up 80% of the player base.I
you always try to keep 80% of your customers happy.

Yes, i dont see a problem with that
She would still be slower than Tombstone myers

Possibly, however I believe that we should try out the changes first before going forward with such an idea as movement speed is still a pretty big deal.

What about killers? You can't have this game if one side just gives up at high level because there's no solid counters anymore. When killers leave, what happens to those 'happy' survivors? Either they switch to killer, become unhappy, and leave, or they leave anyway because there's no challenge.
Killers drop money as well, ya know. But seeing as killers are boxed into three characters already if they want to be viable at high rank, that's a thin line to balance. This game isn't just survivor sided.

I don’t see a problem with it

I explained it at length in another thread but basically at any given time, it is GURANTEED that at least 4/5 people playing this game CHOSE survivor. Of those 4/5, they must fall into 2 of the 3 categories: exclusive killer (nope), exclusive survivor (maybe), plays both killer and survivor (maybe).
Either way, survivor players or players that even SOMETIMES play survivor must make up the majority of the player base. If killer players were majority, we'd never have matches.

What about killers?
Let's not act like BHVR has been doing nothing but nerf killers left and right.
Killers aren't leaving, if anything the game has more killers than it's ever had. Historically speaking Survivors have borne the brunt of the nerfs for the past couple of years (which makes sense because Survivors were too strong at launch).
Two years ago Survivor lobbies took forever because there were too many survivors and not enough killers. The opposite is true today -- killer lobbies take forever while survivor lobbies are instant. It's because there are more killers playing today comparatively to survivors than it was in the past.
There've been tons of improvements to the killer side of things. From changes to lighting so killers don't have to squint all day long at dark corners, lighter clothing nerfs, hiding the killer build in the results screen, nerfing healing all around, nerfing palettes, nerfing windows, nerfing MoM, nerfing DS, etc. And that's not even talking about actual killer-specific buffs.
Killers aren't being neglected.

Yes! Hence the S tier killer nerf. Enticing more people to play survivor.
It makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

If killers don't play survivor, an unnecessary nerf won't convince them to. They'll just be pissed and leave the game

The nerf is definitely something to help people play survivor. Nurse is a big turnoff for survivors. This nerf has been in the cards for a long time. Spirit is probably next on the chopping block, but that change won't happen probably until next year.
Personally I think BHVR isn't doing enough fast enough to change the game fro the better, I'd like to see more updates more frequently. The game still needs a lot of balancing fixes done on both sides.

Well, I can't argue with that. But I think it's something that should be put on the table now that a cooldown is being introduced. A 4m/s move speed seems fair in my book so that Nurse still needs to rely on her blinks to win chases instead of just walking, but at the same time helps compensate for the downtime of the power.
0 -
That might be true, but worst case is you're upsetting 20% of the players...likely less due to people that play both sides. Best case is you are making 80% feel stronger.
0 -
That Just seems like an asinine idea tbh
0 -
Not really. Think about any business. They do what they think will bring in the majority of customers and sometimes it changes. The developers know that at any given moment 80% of people in game are survivors.
Why wouldn't you want to make them happy?
0 -
Without killers there's no game, so why would you wanna piss them off?
0 -
Yeah, that's a good point. I guess we'll have to see, I'm not against it though.
0 -
Her base movespeed should definitely be %100 survivor movespeed at the very least
1 -
There should be no cooldown at all. That's an asinine idea.
The whole point of Nurse is to be hyperaggressive. That's what gives her a unique identity and makes her fun to play.
If the devs wanted to give Nurse a little extra counter play, they should have given her an extra second of fatigue time. Combine that with better map design and everything would have been peachy.
But nope, once again the devs have shown they don't understand red ranks.
1 -
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I think it's a fair trade off considering the cooldown.

Wait and see. This change is definitely a step in the right direction, but if it ends up being a bit too much, then maybe increasing movement speed to compensate a bit could work. As long as they don't give in to all the whining from bad nurse players and revert this change.
