Generators rework
Lore: Each survivor in the trial has a unique knowledge and tools to repair specific parts of a generator.
How it works: Each survivor can only repair each generator till 33%. To complete a generator three survivors have to work on it.
Whats expected?: Survivors have to roam and complete their share of each generator around the map, this might stop gen rush and it would be funnier both sides to roam around the map instead of holding leftclick in a single spot for 80 seconds.
Settings: IF a survivor dies, the knowloadge is transfered to the remaining survivors.
4 survivors alive = 33,34% cap
3 survivors alive = 50% cap (two survivors have to work at each generator)
2 survivors alive = 100% cap (a single survivor can repair from 0 to 100%)
What happens if the killer kicks a generator? Not sure, you should help me with this one:
A ) all the survivors can repair the progress that is lost.
B ) only the survivor that made that progress can repair it.
What can be implemented? auras around the generator that you already completed to 33%. (The aura is lost if the generator loses your share of the progression)
BNP can be reworked to complete your share of a generator (33% 50% or 100% depending on survivors left) or it can be reworked to allow you complete a whole generator by yourself [BNP removes the 33% cap of a single generator with the 15%-25% current bonus]
This is just an idea and i want to hear your thoughts, No-Salt allowed, no survivor/killer main QQ allowed

This entire post basically spells out "RIP Solo Queue"I dont think so, it would be a major update and it would take a time till braindead survivors adapt (they cant adapt to the exhaust nerf.. omg..), but i bet its going to be for the best.
Survivors would be harder to find ( currently killers find survivors because they get too greedy in a single gen and they wont hide till the heartbeat is very loud, if you only have to repair 33% and run away there is no way a killer can track you between generators, it would be hard to killers aswell! )
EQUALS TO each game lasting longer, survivors hiding in the woods between generators, and it would be harder for the killer to find people.

Because you're biased toward your own suggestion.
As it stands, its hard enough to get people to coop on generators. There's literally no way to communicate in-game aside from a couple of hand gestures and a flashlight click, so there's no way to tell someone "Hey, come work on this with me".
Add to that the fact that in some rounds, people will spend far too much time going for altruism points and never even touch a generator, and you've just pushed the game completion rate back by about 50-75% for most survivor groups. The only way to even know your teammates are on a gen is to use bond or similar perks.
There is no scenario in which a sole survivor having completed their part on N generators and having to wait on non-participating team members is a viable solution to anything.

I dont think im being biased, you are transpolating the current gameplay to my desired scenario.
Stop thinking about a fastpased game where you have to complete 5 generators in 2 minutes and run away as fast as you can. You dont have to tell your teammates to repair the same generator at the same time. In this scenario you have to repair your share in each generator in the map and go back to repair your share wheenever its lost, in between you help people from the hook / run from the killer if you got spotted.
If your team is dumb, you have to wait till the dumbest one dies and repair the generators till the next cap (50%), I dont think ALL the survivors in your team are so dumb to the point they cant finish generators with a cap of 50%. If they are, just look for the hatch and save yourself, the entire team doesnt deserve to win because they play poorly, if you did your job and you are smart, just let them die and get the hatch.

You're essentially nerfing solo queue and buffing the already strong SWF. We need the gap to lessen, not to make it larger in order to make proper balance adjustments to the game.

By capping any given player's influence on the objective, you're effectively handcuffing them to the whims of the others. In the game's current form, I can choose to ignore excessively altruistic survivors and do the gens on my own time and escape. In your scenario, that becomes impossible until the match boils down down to 1v1.

I dont think everyone is so dumb they cant adapt to this playstyle and complete generators, i guess survivors are going to last longer and wont be so easily spotted. If 3 of your team are so bad they cant even click in a gen and move to the next one, they all deserve to die, this is where the hatch mechanics shine for the first time.@AsePlayer said:
Have you played solo queue? lolYes, i play soloQ survivor, SWF and i play killer aswell.
Please read the entire post instead of focusing in the dumbest part of it. Your quote doesnt make any sense, you are not focusing in the main article! (sugesting all the players are so dumb they wouldnt move from gen to gen doing their share is extremist, everyone want altruism points but they want objetive points aswell, they need and want to repair ! )0 -
This is an example of your arguing guys, think about creating the first boat on the planet:
Me: What if we craft something that can sail on water?
You: Meh, i bet the people inside would be so dumb they are going to fall from it all the time. Lets stick to land vehicles.0 -
This would make coordination a lot more necessary, which plays to SWF strengths amd solos' inherent weakness. It would also make altruism actions have a much larger impact on the possibility of escape. Finally, this all but forces survivors who are not well coordinated, or have players who are more interested in alrtuism, chasing and distracting, to wait for a snowball to start happening before being able to escape. Remember also that one surv on a hook + one surv going for a rescue means that unless survs take turns unhooking (again, highly coordinated) this goes south for them very quickly.
This would instantly swap the game balance to being dramatically on favor of the killer.
TL:DR - I dont think its a viable solution, but it's a neat idea and kudos for taking the time to post it and share your thoughts.3 -
The three of you think it needs coordination, why do you think that?? its weird all of you came up with the same thought.
RESUMÉ: You have to run all over the map and complete 33% in each generator. WHERE IS THE COORDINATION? you dont have to camp the first generator you cap at 33% and make signals to the other survivors to repair it, just leave it alone and complete all of them to 33%, you are not thinking out of the box people.
Sry for the caps but you are stuck at the same thing over and over again

I think they should make gens more difficult and fun to begin with. They should also add skill checks to totems dull or otherwise as well as as skill checks to the exit gate. I don’t know how you could make it more fun though0

Extremely killer sided, impossible to implement. I can't know which generators have progress all the time. Yes gen rush is a very big problem but there are killers who can prevent gen rush like nurse or hillbilly or huntress. These are still very powerful killers and unintentionally your proposal buffs them too.
Not every survivor run from one generator to the other. Some of us are altruistic, some of us searches for chests, some of us are being chased by the killer. I can't protect the generator I have worked on from the killer's kick all the time. I will have to wait for another survivor to come and finish it or leave the gen and allow the killer to kick it. It might even regress to %0 from %66. There are so many other issues with your gen rework that trying to improve this idea will not work most probably.

Four in a row. Stop thinking inside the box. STOP trying to camp a generator at 33% and waiting till your team finishes it. Its about raising all the gens to 33% and to fix those that lose the ''thisIsFull- aura'
You dont have to wait, you dont have to camp, there is nothing wrong to 'allow the killer to kick it'. Your mind is set on -I WANT TO FINISH THIS IN 2 MINUTES and start another match-.

i'm a killer main. dunno ######### about survivor issues.... BUT this sounds awful. i know a few ppl play solo and i think this would be very taxing for them. especially if they ended up in a 3 man swf....

L M A O. In almost every single thread, I defend killers and say that gen rush is a problem. Your proposal is ridiculous at best definition. As if the doctor matches are not annoying enough, we will not even allow a survivor to complete a generator.
When you open a thread and explain your thoughts, you need to be able to face criticisms. Instead of saying that we think inside the box, maybe you should try to understand what we are saying. Tbh, I haven't even read the previous comments. If all four of us said the same thing, maybe you are the one who is wrong in this thread.
I am happy to accept any criticism and listen to people. This is my thread and look at what runiver told me and what my response was to him.
My rework was ridiculous and would make some killers unbeatable. Instead of trying to blame people, I just accepted that my proposal could not become a reality and move on. Either change your rework and make it a little bit more acceptable or just get more criticisms and frustrated.

I never said my intention was to finish the game in 2 minutes. My intention is to actually have an effect on the objective so we can you know... escape?

Your point of view is quite different than the others tho.. sorry for that. Their argument is "im the only one cappable of thinking, all the generators are going to be at 33% and my teammates wont be able to do 1%"
A killer kicking generators wont go far if its 4 guys rotating on generators vs one killer kicking them, you shouldnt be worried about the progression of the repairs, its the same game with an extra "move and repair" instead of "repair and repair"

NO. Generators doesn't need a rework. Making more obcjetives will be a amazing feature

This will make camping/tunneling even better since you need that person to do gens. I'll pass.

I agree that generators need some kind of rework, but forcing people to work together shouldn't be a thing. There's always gonna be those survivors out there who will just fiddle fart around and cuck you.
I see a lot of suggestions about having to find parts to fix gens, which is a better solution.0 -
@morimebabsi I do agree that this idea this guy made is a terrible idea, but the killers are not OP. Killers have to go through many pallets and looping. However devs doing that with a gen progression is an awful idea and way too much, i agree.

This is ass. Let’s make solo queue hell.0
-
Why this concept is not god: One survivour just got on the hook, and the Killer is chasing another one. You literally CAN'T repair gens until you either unhook somebody or the chased guy manages to escape. And unhooking having a higher priority than gens usually gives killer 4k, since he has enough time to chase other survivours.
The point of the game is that you can repair al the gens by yourself why other survivours are in the chase and saving each other.0 -
Terrible idea.
Solo Survivors have limited communication with each other. They cannot directly tell each other to help with the generators. You'll just gimp them compared to SWF.

I suggested something similar a few times, but after thinking about it, it really is just a big nurf for survivors like me who play solo.
It hurds survivors to be in the same place, if you were solo and you’ve done 33% of each gen what do you do then, keep going round topping up after the killer has kicked your 33%?
As a killer you’d just patrol gen to gen kicking and eventually all 5 of you will just want the game to end.
Personaly what I’d like to see is the exit gates reduced to a single gate, a time delay on opening the gate depending on the speed all gens were done, this prolongs the game and gives the killer that additional chance that the end game is lacking without addons and perks, plus it would be far more of a challenge getting out without buffing individual sides.
Or your gen idea but applied to the exit gates rather then the gens
