I am not really understanding your issue here. Usually ranks 16-20 will get matched against each other, so you will still get players of your skill lvl typically. Also, the reason from my understanding for not going deranking from 16-20 is not to discourage new players. The no depips or rank loss is more of a motivation point. Lastly, 15 is the new 20, not 16 as you cannot drop below 15 in rank until the rank reset.

I am sorry you and your friends are having a difficult time with matches after ranking up. Maybe if you got 4 friends you play with regularly, try playing Kill With Friends for a bit and work on your skills until you feel comfortable with coming back into ranked games.

For me as a survivor, honestly, about every game I get destroyed. I have the worse luck of spawning every match right next to the killer.

You stated your skill level did not meet the rank you were sitting at. I suggested KYF as a way to work on your skill before heading back to ranked games. Of course you do not get BP, its not a ranked match. You were complaining about skill level, and I suggested a means to work on your skill without getting pwned every match. It seems your issue is not skill but you are not getting the BP you think you deserve. You cannot farm a killer like you did befoer 2.1. That makes more sense.

You are not going to get your money back. Honestly it is as simple as that.

Out of curiousity, how are you getting trolled by other players?

Rank is going to take time to adjust since the patch just dropped. Until people play and get to the ranks they should be at you are going to get matched against people way more skilled/experienced than you.
The old ranking system this was always the case as rank had no pull on matchmaking.
If you are this new to the game expect to get destroyed. This games original learning curve is huge since most of the skill comes from map knowledge.
If you are getting this flustered already at a game you just bought then I wouldn't suggest playing anything "competitive multiplayer". Stick to co-op games or single player games as they can adjust in difficulty as you wish.
I'm not saying this to sound mean but you cannot create a multiplayer game and expect matchmaking to ever be perfect since people are always changing.
