Best Reallife Killer suggestion
i think it would be increasing the horror atmosphere of DbD a lot. my suggestion is to put Valery Makarenkov into the game. even meeting him inside DbD i would ######### my whole pants. we already know that the clown should show the real life killer John Wayne Gacy. so what do you think?

That is one of the worst, most tasteless suggestion I have heard for this game. I hope the devs never sink to that level. Glorifying a real life killer is not a good thing. Playing as one is not even close to a good idea.

No, the devs clearly stated in one of their streams that they didn't get inspired by him at all. The clown as a killer is a widely known cultural figure in western countries and they used it. If this game was created by africans, indians or asians, we might not have seen a clown killer at all.
What you are talking and what I am saying is completely different. Of course I wouldn't go and kill people because I watched or played Jason. I wouldn't kill people if I played Grace neither. This isn't the issue. The issue here is that one of them is a fictional character and although what he has done was horrific, it wasn't real. The other one inflicted pain in the real life and should not be rewarded by getting included to a game.
I have no problem with inspiration. After all, leatherface has been created by inspiration as well. Directly including them is the real problem here.

I don't really see the problem as long as you aren't putting real life killers in as is. Leather face was based off a real killer, yet there is no outcry for his inclusion in the game. So long as you just call it something else and take a little creative license killers based off real world people isn't some unspeakable taboo.0

I agree with this statement... We don't need to glorify actual real killers. It is a shame there have been movies already doing this. The Devs in this game don't need to be doing that, even though indirectly they already have.

Killers that are INSPIRED by real life killers. Not actually putting in a real life killer. There is a big difference. We don't need to put their names in the history of this game simply because they decided they wanted to be serial killers, #########, murders, etc.
Should read what the actual post is about. The OP was asking about putting in REAL LIFE killers.

Getting inspired as I have said is okay. You can get inspired and if you read my second post I have already talked about leatherface and give him as an example. If you read my second post again, I have said that clown was not even inspired by Grace at least according to Devs.
Getting smashed, my finger being eaten etc. is not the problem here. ######### is an important issue and it will cause a massive backlash whatever you say. It is a cultural thing but believe me if the devs were comfortable with the idea, they would include a ######### into the game long time ago.
It is not a taboo or something. These people are not historical people, they are not important people, what they have done was disgusting but not 'world changing'. They don't deserve to be remembered and getting rewarded by getting included into a game.

The devs are on record saying Gacy was not the inspiration for the Clown. As for Leatherface, whether or not Ed Gein was actually the inspiration for Leatherface is debateable and Tobe Hooper has contradicted himself multiple times about this. I will say that Leatherface was more than likely at least partly inspired by Gein.
If they draw inspiration from reality to create fiction, that is one thing. Reality is often the inspiration for nearly all horror. Now that is not what you orginally said you wanted Valery Makarenkov in the game. Huge difference between the devs using reality for inspiration and your request for the actual killer.
