So about Monstrous Shrine
It’s been a few months since it’s been acknowledged by Devs that it needs a rework during the 3.1.0 Q & A. Any thoughts on what they might do?

I’d like to think it’d be just like Dying Light but for hooks: The more hooks you get, the faster the process is given to other’s hook time. It could even give bonus blood points towards the Sacrifice category.
Rewards you for doing your objective as a Killer: Hooking Survivors.
It would even make Camaraderie useful.

I still think Monstrous Shrine should be remade so you can gather bits of hair, fingerprints, blood, etc. from Survivors while they run around the map and put them in the basement hooks.
Then if by endgame they didn't bust the voodoo doll in the basement when they escape they instantly get teleported to the basement and die.

I can see it, it would be really great for killers who can apply a lot of pressure and get hooks quickly.

I still like the idea of Monstrous Shrine putting both basements into a map (though there is still the issue of some maps only having one basement).

I definitely dont think the perk needs a rework per say. it just needs some stat changes and its fine

Nah it needs a rework. There is no stat change you could possible make to it that would make killers run it except if it instakilled survivors in the basement.
A basement hook is basically a GG as it is. Killers generally won't waste a perk slot to enhance what is already a winning move.

What about survivors instantly getting to stage 2 on the hook in the basement?

isn't that too much powerful?

As it is, Monstrous Shrine should just be basekit, and then rework the perk for another effect.
4 -
basekit sounds cool, only issue is that monstrous shrine can't even do its own job properly. it shaves off 6~ seconds per phase and decreases kobe chances by less than 1%
2 -
No, because that would basically mean iron grasp and agitation comes with every kit because it's basically a guaranteed fast kill. And all you need to do is tunnel/camp the person being rescued. It's not hard getting people into the basement. Especially with irongrasp and agitation.

I don’t think Stat changes would be enough, the perk is just too situational.

They should just make it function like old hook timers, 45 sec each phase.

What i would like is;
Monstrous Shrine activates when at least 1 survivor is hooked down there.
- Get a token for hooking each survivor up to a max of 2/3/4 and at the end of the match get a 25% increase to BP for each token
- Each hooked survivor decreases the repair and healing speed of survivors by 4/6/8% and increases the speed at which survivors are sacrificed by 4/6/8%
- Each hooked survivor increases the movement speed of the killer by 2/3/4%

Personally think it should effect all hook all the map.

But surely having niche perks is a good thing? there are so many perks in the game now and so many more being added that its alright to have some niche perks, besides it helps with the "basement build" that some people enjoy so much. not every perk has to be amazing or even compete with the meta perks imo. as long as its fun or can be used differently to vary playstyle why not keep it as it is?
EDIT: or still tied to the basement hooks at least

No way. We don't need anymore Gen Slow down perks, and this just overloads the perk with way too many benefits. Sure it's a Basement Hook, but I really don't want killers to have any more incentive to force basement hooks.
I'm just thankful Killers don't think Agitation and Iron Grasp are good. If those two perks ever became Meta I might stop playing Survivor and just go Killer.

Dont want anymore incentive to force basement hooks? What do you think a rework of Monstrous Shrine will do? It will be interesting to see if the rework will make Agitation/Iron Grasp/Monstrous Shrine/Make your Choice a meta build. Demo and Hag would work well with it.
What if a reworked MS guaranteed basement will spawn and increases movement speed by 1/2/3% for each hooked person? I think thats a pretty good.

I think having any perk affect the basement is not good really. Not only is it a situational perk, but the basement is already a very strong position for the killer, and having a perk that makes the basement even stronger for killers is both not fun for the survivor, and yet probably also means the perk is underpowered since the perk is so situational and only makes something that is already strong for the killer even stronger for the killer.

Agreed regardless of how good a stat change I’d still be too situational of a perk if it only effects basement hooks. They to make it effect all hooks in some way.

I wouldn't want it to decrease the Bleedout timer of hooks though. The perk would just turn into the wet dream of any camper.

Maybe if someone is hooked in the basement you see the aura of other survivors within 16/24/32M of the basement hooks?

For each first hook on any survivor you gain a token up to 4 total. For each token you gain, Bleed out times on struggle hooks are decreased by 5 seconds.
This means campers dont get it. This means tunnlers dont get it. This means it is most efficient if you hook all survivors once each before putting any of them into struggle phase so they all have less time.

that’s honestly better than what it currently does lol
