No that's not being held hostage as the others could have left and left them to die with the egc. They also moved and hit someone else within 2 mins. Thats shorter than slugging and leaving someone to bleed out or the egc coming into play.

It looked like they used it as a strat to lure others in and it worked in this case.

Hostage holding has to be done in a way where someone would be trapped for a prolonged period with no way to end the game apart from dcing.

This could be done in that scenario as an example if no doors were open or there were gens to do, someone was slugged, bled out and they then held them there as the egc wouldn't activate which can only be done at a very specific spot I believe and almost impossible to pull off unless the stars align with mercury.

Didn't they make changes with basement stairs so survivors can walk past to avoid these situations?

In that video it just looks like you don't wanna step into a trap and die, I don't see anybody being held hostage. Report the killer for using a smart tactic and not giving you a chance to leave the basement without getting back on the hook, logical.

Small edit ; Never seen somebody be so scared of dying in the PTB, I like that :)

The player on the stairs could have started disarming the trap and run through the Trapper when he hit you, when the Trapper hit the other survivor the player on the stairs could have run through the Trapper. It looks to me like you're a basement volunteer, not a hostage.

The way the guys in this video flip out and whine so easily made me laugh. The girl in the video had a cool collected mentality and understands the game. There were ways around this as others have explained: spring the trap and if he hits you, then run through him.

It would have also been an idea to just go down into the basement. He was probably working on a daily and wanted you in a trap.

...Wait. Was this on the PTB?

Thanks all for the answers :)

It was one of those like "I've never seen this happen before" moments and just reacted terribly lmao. Thanks for the info though. Didn't really occur to me at the time to just get whacked and run through

It looks like he got stuck in a glitch can couldn't move, only turn. See his small teleport when the game finally let him out?

You could have run through him when he hit the other survivor.

You could have run through him when he downed the other survivor.

You could have disarmed the trap.

You could have taken a hit and run through him.

You could have taken a hit and used deadhard to go through him.

You could have gotten downed and let your teammate locker slam him, like she suggested.

I just listed 6 possible escapes, surely there's more. So where is the hostage situation?

Being a dumb survivor is a survival handicap, not an excuse for accusing the killer of holding the game hostage.

Lol you're crying about this with dead hard equipped. I played a few times swf with people like you and I couldn't take it. They were reporting killers for every stupid thing. Just play the gd game, you win some you lose some, if you actually succeeded in getting killers banned (which you won't) all you would do is making longer queue lines for yourself. Twits

I'm a scrub survivor, and that guy was a scrub even compared to me. Jesus H. Christ learn what Holding the Game Hostage entails.

BHVR should start doing what Overwatch does and ban false reporters after a while. Fairly certain this report would not have been his first, nor his last.

Honestly this kate is dumb. She could easily disarm the trap force the trapper to hit her she then she could easy run out. It is totally her fault.

She has like quadruple my play time :) I didn't know at the time I could run through killers when they hit you :)

No. Its only holding the game hostage if the only way to get out of the match is by disconnecting, eg trapping a Survivor in a corner and not moving.

    BenZ0 is correct here:

There is literally no reason Kate couldnt have gotten out.

Either she could have disarmed the trap and walked out, or the Trapper hits her and she uses the recovery time to run through the Trapper.

    1) You don't lose collision when somebody else gets hit

    2) You don't lose collision when somebody else gets hit

    3) And get grabbed of the trap like a champ

    4) Trapper didn't move and also didn't make any attempt to hit him on the stairs

    5) Trapper didn't move and also didn't make any attempt to hit him on the stairs

    6) Trapper didn't move and also didn't make any attempt to hit him on the stairs.

Only 1 out of your 6 "escape plans" was even remotely possible, and as that trapper was right next to him he would have been grabbed anyway. So please don't call him dumb, if none of your plans would have worked anyway. Thanks!

Holding the game hostage means that there is no chance for the game to end. You had the option to step into the trap so it isn't holding the game hostage.

That makes sense. I’m not trying to make fun of you, just calm down and learn from it. I’m pretty sure you survived anyhow?

    4 viable options there:

1° You try to disarm the trap, he hits you, you run past him

2° A guy gets a lantern, you get trapped, he grabs you, the lantern guy saves you

3° Another unhooked survivor takes a hit for the team and gets trapped, you leave

4° No lantern or no disarming option available, just stand still and see who gets tired first

You did have options, this is not taking the game hostage, sorry
