do you ever get tired of your main?

I'm a Kate main, but I'm starting to get tired of playing her. I just completely ran out of outfit ideas for her, and to be quite honest her last few outfits are god awful looking.

does this ever happen to other people? I find comfort in playing other survivors because it feels like there's some sort of variety. I still want to main Kate but i don't want to play her anymore, or at least until i get better cosmetics for her.

Nope! I love playing Legion! Just wish it didn't feel like i'm taking the weighted clothes off when I use other Killers. Buff Legion please!

My killer main is Myers, which I love playing as, but I like to occasionally mix things up with Ghostface.

For survivors, No not really as they are all nearly the same when you unlock all the perks (except Jeff...Mr noisy!)

Killers, not that I change every so often as they vary in powers etc.

    As a survivor nah.

As killer I play a variety usually. It gets boring to use the same power over and over again. This is usually only a problem with me after having a long 4k streak with one killer. I don't like it. So I change it up.

    Nah to both sides.

I don't play Survivor enough to burn out of em and I play almost every Killer and usually rotate em, rarely playing more than 5 games in a row as the same Killer

I main Claudette, but its nice to change it up and play other survivors to make it feel more fresh

With survivors they’re essentially just skins though, so i dont usually feel sick of certain ones.

As an explanation to this, Legion is what brought me back to this game after I left in 2016-2017 times. I fell in love with the rush down. This is why i am so passionate about them.

I would never get tired of The Doctor and his laugh. I could probably spam playing for days if i really wanted to before feeling burnt out. I actually am working on unlocking teachables on killers i dont play at all or nearly as much and i havent played Doctor in maybe 5 days now. I miss him :'(

Use to main trapper but got tired of getting stomped by decent teams. Swapped to spirit and hit rank 1 in one day..

Its good to mix it up every now and then, for killers anyways.

Survivors I guess you just swap around perks

yes. I main nea, but I get tired of all the complaints that I must be toxic because I main Nea, when in reality its because i'm spending a years worth of bloodpoints trying to fund killers that actually play differently depending on builds and addons

Main is Freddy, will always stick with him till day one. Might start using wraith once he gets the undetectable status effect because screw OoO.

Decided to make an account just to join this topic.

I actually do, until I played Ghostface. Originally it was Billy, with bubba on the side. Love chainsaws as a weapon and the playstyles are enjoyable. Then did a little Myers and Demogorgon, but as I played Myers, or the of chance I was Wraith, I felt like I was close to what I wanted to be. Tried pig, and felt the same, if lesser.

Finally tried Ghostface and fell in love. The stealth Wraith should have combined with essentially a close range Make Your Choice. That's the best time I've found to use his marking ability, during unhooks. Even then I find moments where I wish I was Billy or Demo when I have to deal with a pallet as I've not gotten Brutal Strength yet. Then I walk up behind someone on a gen, mid chase using my Night Shroud to break away and sneak up behind a nearby gen being repaired and I remember exactly why I adore his playstyle. It's just a lot of fun for someone who loves stealth but finds Wraith, Mirror-Myers, or Pig lacking.

Yeah, it can be so i play other survivors too. I rotate them every match. Like;Feng, Feng, Kate, Feng, Feng, Jane, Feng, Nea, Feng, Feng, FENG, Claudette, Feng, Laurie, Feng, Feng and Laurie.

I completely agree, I forgot to mention Doctor was someone I played very early on. He's just a ton of fun to shock-slap people! Good bp and I usually let the survivors go after a hook on everyone with BBQ. Good fun for everyone because oh lord does getting looped playing him bite hard..

  • InfinyMage
    InfinyMage Member Posts: 236

He was the killer who got me through my noob days. I would run around the map lost and not find anybody before i picked him up. Now I dont need the training wheels i feel he provides to some. But it never gets old.

  • BearJaw
    BearJaw Member Posts: 56

Also can't hate that meaty slap he gives his weapon after a hit. Damn, now I'm wanting to do a few runs with him but I'd fail miserably. After spending so much time relying on my stealth I'd feel naked walking around like a failed bipedal Tesla monster. Love his cosmetics too.

  • InfinyMage
    InfinyMage Member Posts: 236

Lol I love his after hit animation. And i always go into the trial with my Blight skin for him. Its so bright but honestly, hes anti stealth and all you end up worrying about is his treatment mode which is ranged and wether you will end up being looped by a good survivor

  • No, I have extraordinary fun with legion win or lose. However, Any game or hobby will get boring so remember to switch stuff up to avoid that!

Legion are the only characters I've never played, as I don't own them, but they looks fun as hell. I would have to disagree on the hobby thing though, I've never tired of mine as a musician and as far as I can tell, if you truly enjoy something it will never bore you. Looking for a new inspiration though? Absolutely!

Oh! Well, I hope if you do play them you enjoy it! Just... they arnt the best right now but if you think of a way to help them that keeps there Rushdown style after you use them a bit, please let me know!

Some times I change things up so I don't get bored of my mains. Right now I'm playing more Demogorgon than Pig.

I currently switch around to Steve, Nancy, David, and Dwight.

    My top 4 currently.

Well, after getting to red ranks, it sometimes becomes painful playing Legion, so I switch to other killers, like Spirit, Micheal, and the like. I'm kind of more a jack of all trades kind of player to be honest.

  • Dwight_Fairfield

    Never.

Dwight and Myers will always be number one in my heart. I will never abandon them.

  • BearJaw

Absolutely! I've read your stuff often, I've read these forums for a long time but never joined till now. So I know you're a huge advocate of his play health, as am I as a Bubba fan! I've only played against them once, and the person using them was good, but I felt they were definitely underwhelming and for the people who just enjoy the relentless chase.

My mindset? So what if I de-pip, not like there is a reason to pip short of higher and potentially more toxic play on either side, so I'll definitely try them eventually. Also love how varied they are cosmetically, awesome character design outside of the powers shortcomings!

I legit only play my "bad" killers after a rank reset because they're more likely to be viable. Once i get back into red, its back to spirit and freddy all day.

  • UlvenDagoth
    UlvenDagoth Member Posts: 3,535

I know right? I'm honored you've read my posts and such! That's nice of you. I wish I was better with Bubba, but the times I have played them they are fun!

That's the spirit! Just play to have fun man, that's what I do.

  • Raven014
    Raven014 Member Posts: 4,188

I'll still play Legion, just not as much. Right now I'm loving playing DH Demogorgon, since you can actually keep your totem alive if you play it right, and you're guaranteed at least 1 mori. : P

  • Ryuhi
    Ryuhi Member Posts: 3,895

Legion needs a lot of work imo, its just too demoralizing to try to play them at high rank right now, you need to have an absolutely perfect balance of map pressure and chase times, with a dash of luck for ruin not going down instantly. I still don't have the perks for their slowdown build, so I'm kinda stuck with them until I do. Shame I have to buy 6+ other builds for other killers to make them viable before I can come back to legion. maybe the meta will change again by then and the stuff i actually have can be viable.

    Yes, absolutley.

I would love to play other Survivors than just Claudette, but no way am I ever going to bother grinding out all the perks to tier 3 for them.

Survivors are just skins, why do they even have seperate progression and grinding, seriously. Dumber than dumb.

  • BearJaw
    BearJaw Member Posts: 56

Don't use Ruin myself, isn't reliable, but TT or PGTW instead. Though I don't know how well he works with Ruin so I can't speak of what's better, but I found relying on it always made me lose something I could have done better with if I had something else. Especially since recently people have been in a habit of letting gens sit close to finish and gen tapping the second I leave into a chase, PGTW excels there.

I don’t get bored of Claudette but I don’t enjoy killer anymore

  • Ryuhi
    Ryuhi Member Posts: 3,895

PGTW relies on you to win a chase, get the down and hook, and find a gen thats being worked on within the next 40-60 seconds. Its really bad for spreading wounds, which is what legion is supposed to be doing (especially if you go with a thana/sloppy build) Ruins main job in that build is to slow things down long enough (at worst) or in addition to (at best) your other slowdown procs.

Any killer build can technically work depending on the survivors you go against, and your ability to play at a disadvantage. the point of build synergy is to help decrease your disadvantage and turn it into an advantage. its why so many people are frustrated with how inconsistent perks like ruin feel, yet how much they feel they're needed for a lot of builds. I feel the same way when i play survivor and take balanced and then get a map with maybe 1-2 drop points on the entire map.

I wish I could enjoy Wraith, stealth is my go to but he's such a drag without decent add-ons. I am looking forward to a decent QoL on him

  • Kaiju
    Kaiju Member Posts: 530

Yeah just put in windstorm and you rock and yes he really needs some QoL changes but with the undetectable status I think he will be fine from those pesky OoO users

  • BearJaw
    BearJaw Member Posts: 56

I use to feel the same way, the toxicity got to me at a point and i snapped and stopped caring. Maybe if the grind wasn't so aggressive early on before you have anything decent, or after a prestige, then each game would lose so much of that "must perform" attitude I use to have. When I got what I want on a character I've learned to mellow out and just enjoy the game. Especially as survivor, I'll always be Jake, stopped at p2 and love my perks I've got on him though literally none are meta except Iron Will and Spine Chill and that's subjective depending on skill and play, except Iron Will because it's awesome.

  • Ryuhi
    Ryuhi Member Posts: 3,895

He's still incredibly weak in a chase, and takes longer/more effort to get a sneaky first hit than other stealth killers (namely ghostface) unless he uses a very specific addon combo.

I absolutely love bing bong boi, but he needs a lot of work at green ranks and above.

I am a lot more mellow lately, I just overall prefer survivor gameplay. I have a Claudette and Bubba at p3 with Claudette having every perk and LF only missing seven.

  • BearJaw
    BearJaw Member Posts: 56

I enjoy survivor when I have at least one person to play with, Everytime I'm solo everyone quits and I feel left out, it's a lonely awful experience. At least with a friend we can laugh and joke. Probably why I lean towards killer more often, unless friends are on, which these days are far because they all refuse to learn how to hide or loop so they never last long.. the get frustrated and the loop begins. *Shrug*

I never needed any add-on to get a stealth attack (like coxcombed clapper or the one that makes u not have a heartbeat and red stain)the only ones I use are windstorm and swift hunt tbh the other ones are meh and with some good mind games u can end a chase like any m1 killer I think the majority of wraiths make the mistake of chasing uncloaked that's why he is weak at chases if you cloak you have a better chance of ending the chase way faster

    edit : specified the addons

the addons i was talking about were ghost and coxcomb clapper. they give the wraith the ability to decloak with no TR/bing bong, so basically, what GF gets in his basekit power.

Still plenty possible to get those first hits without it, but nowehere near as easy.

As for chasing uncloaked, it really depends. If you're going to cloak after each hit, its technically smarter to focus a new target after each whack. If you try to chase while cloaked, any good survivor will be able to pallet block you every time you get close while they're healing. you can try to trick them into wasting pallets that way, but its pretty high risk/low reward.

When i play that way i usually just smack one and leave em to heal while i stealth to the next one. Only way to really maintain map pressure basekit, but it certainly doesnt earn you quick hooks.
