Ghostface is good

I’ve seen more Ghostface players in red ranks (PS4) than Spirit this month and I’m wondering why people say Ghostface is bad? I would put him A-tier if given the right perks

If you go against a really agressive team as ghostface you can't even use your power since they reveal you instantly. He is decent but not that good imo.

    Reveal boxes

Sometimes it should, sometimes it shouldn't

But I love playing GhostFace, he is fun and viable

Hes definitely on the rise.... difficult to learn and play but incredibly devastating when played to his potential

Because like @TheHoodedOne said reveal hitbox ): he's still really fun and optimal though.

I suck badly as ghostface. Always getting revealed. At this point i just use him as a m1 killer that can hide his TR. When I actually focus on unlocking his teachables I'll either hate my life or 'get gud' but it'll probably be the first...

He's good, but if you're in higher ranks, you can't really use him the way the devs probably intended. I get a stalk maybe once in a game, many times not at all. I'd say he's the best B tier killer or the worst A tier killer. Probably 7th best killer.

The thing is, it's kinda better to use Ghost Face's Shroud ability to sneak up and get a hit/grab and more importantly use it during a chase and mindgame em at loops/areas by breaking off line of sight and loop around em. Actually using his ability to Stalk & Expose them isn't as useful as we wish it was. You may get a couple of marked hits, but generally speaking it's a one-trick pony thing.

I think he's the best killer. But I'm highly biased too. Scream is my second favorite slasher movie (#1 being Friday the 13th VII) so I'm going to main him until we get Jason. (if we ever do)

But I also think regardless of my bias he is quite strong. Both he and Myers are underrated. Any killer that can get gen grabs or insta downs regularly is good in my book. (Yes this includes Leatherface)

I think ppl are afraid of admitting some killers are good is because good killers get nerfed by BHVR.

People use his ability wrong. They stalk.

  • NuclearBurrito
    NuclearBurrito Member Posts: 6,807

If you use his power solely for the stealth then that's a non-issue.

  • Lucama

He's definitely good, just not in the ways devs intended him to be. Unfortunately with more people figuring this out I suspect that the stealth way of playing him is gonna get nerfed somehow.

Ghostface can literally stalk you constantly per game. He can crouch and get away while someones looking at you. That's awareness and good reaction time. On the other hand though, a competent and good team will totally destroy you and you won't be able to stalk and will be a m2 killer that has a knife and looks life a goof.

I also felt that. Idk if he got buffed recently but it's insane.

Also, can we talk about the ambulance on the school map ? Apparently you can stalk ppl working on gen from behind.

It happened for me and when I asked the Ghostface how he exposed me he said one of my toe was apparently showing. He didn't really see me but his expose thing was going up.

Anyone think this shouldn't be happening. I mean a toe ?

How can you like part 7? its like top 3 worst ones because of slow pace and the focus on the mind powers more than jason

Ghostface is good, just wish there was more of a fun/playful aspect to him... stalking with how inconsistent it is, can get pretty boring. Most of the time you'll be doing more chasing than actual stalking. Unless you get a good map.

Two things that I think are missing, would be, the ability to get in a locker. Think the same combo as (QnQ + Head on) for chases I think something like this could be fun. Or the ability to stalk while inside a locker for those survivors who are very good at looping and you just needed that little bit of stalk.

The other thing that I think could make him more fun is the addition of cellphones/walkie talkies. Haven't really thought about how this one could be incorporated, but this would definitely seal the deal when it comes to the Ghostface we know and love from the movies. Maybe this one could tie into gen pressuring because you spend a lot of time trying to get someone exposed that you sacrifice time to pressure generators.

Just some suggestions. I am not a Ghostface main, but I am a hardcore SCREAM fan, and I just feel like he needs more of those jump scare moments.

Lol, sorry about your poor taste. Tina is hands down the most interesting Final Girl in slasher history. Her showndown vs Jason at the end of the film was brilliantly done. It's the only Friday the 13th film with a deeper plot than "watch these teens die". You get inessted in Tina as a character. Also her therapist is a great secondary antagonist. New Blood is hands down the best F13 film. And it's the best actor playing Jason (Kane Hodder).

But if 7 being my favorite F13 film triggers you then wait until you hear my second favorite F13 film. (Jason goes to Hell)

  • djsponge10
    djsponge10 Member Posts: 349

Triggered? No. Dumbfounded? Yes. it's just a dumb movie lol calm down, It's not a deeper plot though. Every F13 has their own side plot just like how tina is part 7's its a gimmick in a very bad shot and slow movie, sure kane is in but he's in all the bad ones so it don't really mean anything. oh and dont forget its the most censored F13 of them all. tHe only bad ones are part 7 and 8 so idc that you like part 9. You're the one with poor taste, the overwhelming majority agree that 7-10 are the worst movies of them all with 9 and 10 given more love than 7 and 8 more recently.

Danny isn't any of the GhostFace's from Scream. He's an original character from BHVR. Like how in every Scream it's a different person as GhostFace, DBD's GhostFace is unique to DBD.

Danny is a photo journalist (think Peter Parker) the stalking thing makes sense with Danny.

A lot of people like Taylor Swift too. Doesn't mean anything. "Appeal to Popularity" fallacy.

And I am calm. I didn't mean anything by "triggered".

I don't like music at all but taylor swift is good. Everyone agrees william harrison is one of the worst presidents ever since he's been in office for only a month then died. if you said he was the best president what purpose is there to say why? there's way too many people that don't like william harrison just like people not liKing part 7. I just need an explanation how part 7 is better than part 6 or part 4 or part 5 or part 3 or part 2

People don't even bother anymore with his stalk and only use his stealth. So you can figure out that something is wrong with him if you need to play him as an upgraded Wraith.

  • BearJaw
    BearJaw Member Posts: 56

I love reading how everyone feels about him, GF is absolutely my favorite to play. I'd agree, stalk is never to be used how some use it. It's absolutely purely situational. I find it interesting how some find his stealth reveal unsatisfying when it also reveals who spotted you. It's a great way to find someone you didn't realize was there and immediately start a chase with a free hit because they don't even realise they are marked.

Using him to stealth hit is his real power, his stealth in general. Someone said he's an upgraded Wraith, I say he's everything wraith wishes he was. A true stealth killer. I find the stalking only ever effective as a MYC supplement when you spot a survivor going for the unhook. Cancels BT, you mark the rescuer, and suddenly your choices are abundant. I find his footsie work to be his most important aspect. You must absolutely be in the right spot when things are happening so a little forward planning is required.

Other then that, free PGTW because it's so easy to grab people off gens. Unless his absolute hard counter is in play. Spine Chill. Even then it's counterable, but having to back your ass up to a generator takes so much time so even then it's an evecrive counter to him. Slows him down immensely.

@Theoretical_Heart Yes but his lore isn't enough (IMO) and I was more speaking in terms mechanics that could be used creatively.

The Ghostface from the movies would be undeniably more astute. He would use his environment to his advantage. I just think he needs something else and drawing from elements from the movies would be ideal given that most people that bought him are more than likely fans.

    Best looking Jason.

    Best Final Girl.

The Telekinesis added a neat way for a victim to fight back. It was the first supernatural thing in F13 other than Jason himself.

The maskless Jason in New Blood is cooler looking than the others.

    The side plot was fun.

And the best are as follows in order.

#1. Part VII the New Blood

    #2. Jason Goes to Hell

#3. Part IV the Final Chapter

    #4. Part I

    #5. Part VI Jason Lives

#6. Part VIII Jason Takes Manhattan

    #7. Part III

    #8. FvJ

    #9. Part II

    #10. Part V New Beggining

    #11. Remake

    #12. X

But, this thread isn't about that so I'm going to stick to GhostFace talk, now. And you can have your opinion (it's wrong) but you can have it.

That's another underrated aspect: the built in short range Whispers. Survivors reveal themselves to me all the time by looking at me. Sometimes I'll cloak out in the open when I don't know where a survivor is. They usually reveal you and spotlight themselves.

Ssssh if the devs know we use it like that they will take it away.

I really wanna buy him since he is on sale now but I'm afraid I'll end up using him only on rank reset

Also his crouching speed is the same as pig's. So what's the difference between them apart from their power?

  • Yung_Slug
    Yung_Slug Member Posts: 2,238

Well at least you're learning the best way to play him. Stalking wastes time. Run Thanatophobia, Nurse's Calling, Ruin, and Sloppy Butcher and just M1 people with no TR. You'll get lots of free hits and people will often run into obstacles while trying to reveal you (which doesn't even hurt you with this playstyle). The perks slow the game down a lot and Nurse's gets you free downs.

  • Theoretical_Heart
    Theoretical_Heart Member Posts: 398

He has 1 hit downs. Stalking is way faster than with Myers. And its unlimited, survivors never run out of juice for him.

He's like a combo of pig, wraith, myers.

  • WickedKatz

Ps4 is just very diferent than pc, that is why you have to make sure where the person you read from plays

  • BearJaw
    BearJaw Member Posts: 56

Biggest part? He can move full speed stealth. Use LoS blockers to run straight up to them and grab them. His stealth isnt limited to ONLY crouching. If anything my ownly real use of crouch is breaking my Loss when they are spotting me and I don't want to be spotted just yet.

  • Theoretical_Heart
    Theoretical_Heart Member Posts: 398

Not really. I might replace Shadowborn with something else. But it's a strong build otherwise.

  • anarchy753
    anarchy753 Member Posts: 4,212

I just find him way too inconsistent. His power depends a LOT on the survivors being unaware or bad with their camera.

And personally 1 slip up being 45 seconds of 0 power just isn't enjoyable in the slightest to me.
