How do people loop?

I haven't play this game in a few months. Just came back to it. I cannot figure out how people loop killers. I was decent at it before, but now I can't even loop baby killers. Out of frustration I just dc the moment I get caught. Not that I am mad at the killer, but myself for my own incompetence. I practice and practice, but seems like I just can't get any better. 360s on console is hard also. Everytime I try I get hit. So I am just an overall bad survivor who'll probably never reach rank 1. I believe this is do to the rank changes that were implemented. Now you have more experienced players in the lower ranks instead of at rank 1. Just hoping for some tips from ps4 players.

First off, 360 are much more easy to deal with on console so it definetly shouldn't be your go too.

They also changed vault speed and the iframe from it. Go check it out if you were gone for awhile.

I would suggest running lithe and/or dead hard so you can either distance yourself from the killer or be able to DH through an attack to a pallet or window.

360 should be your last ditch hail mary play.

Im horrible at looping also, but i find that against certain killers, im able to predict things better as they are killers that im decent with.

Also, DCing doesnt help. I get the frustration but when you dc as soon as you are down, you lose the possible 2 or more chances of learning to play against that killer. Also, just because game starts bad doesnt mean it ends bad.

As an example, had a game against hag on the game map with sprint burst and not balanced landing, last night as solo. She saw me after i missed a ruin check going for the great. I started running turned a corner into a wall and I was downed. Within about 90 seconds she had 2 hooks and 3 injured people. It was probably 5 minutes before first gen got done. At one point I was injured, 2 people slugged and one on hook. I waited for her to pick one up and got the hooked person down, picked up the last slug, healed both of them, the one being carried wiggled free and brought hag back to us. We scattered and she got someone. Someone managed to find ruin, and we got 3 gens done. She killed 2 of us Then she found me again and i managed to run her around for probably 3 to 4 minutes. When she finally got me, after i wiggled free due to going down in an area with no hooks, i ran for probably another 2 or 3 minutes.

Last gen popped as i was hooked. Let myself die when i saw the last survivor wasn't coming for me and let her get hatch.

I get the hag wasn't the best killer, but im far from a good survivor. Moral of the novel here is, don't get frustrated, it's just a game. Keep playing. Don't DC and watch streamers. Honestly theres a lot of mixed feelings on tru3talent but for me he's helped alot as he explains his choices and why he does things and why some loops are safe amd others aren't.

Good luck and just keep playing. You'll get it

Hag is actually top tier. She's also the best anti-loop killer if you know how to use her traps.

Looping is like riding a bicycle. You don't forget.

If you can't loop now I'm doubtful you were able to loop decently a few months ago. Nothing has changed since then to the looping game, except maybe a slight buff for survivors due to dedicated server latency being passed on to killers.

If you want to get better at looping there's nothing to be done but keep practicing. Learn the proper theory -- there are videos on YouTube that can explain it better than I can. Learn what a safe palette is and how to make use of it, as well as other various safe spots (windows basically). Then after you learn to run them it's just a matter of putting it into practice on maps and learning how to chain them together -- which is a lot harder and will take a lot of time to really master.

As a Killer, I find that the most effective runners use cover and terrain and everything as much as they can. A flat out straight line foot race is where you'll loose the most ground. Also them lame ass T walls and other random walls can be used quite effectively.

Never said hag was bad, im quite fond of her when i play killer, just that the player playing her wasn't that good.

Also, if you need help learning maps, kates teachable windows of opportunity is great for finding pallets you dont know are there. As well as vault points.

Well, to be honest I was ok at looping less experienced killers. At the higher ranks I was no good at all. A few months ago I was still trying to figure it out before I got board with the game. Now I am back to where I started, a potato. After a few days of trying to kick the rust off I still have rust on me. Anyways, you are correct that I wasn't good at looping more experienced killers and forget the rank 1 killers.

Watch the killers movement, a lot of loops have slight areas that you can see through, these are helpful and don’t get greedy with your loops.

Well after few months many things can change. im also playing on playstation and i would consider myself a quite good looper. knowing the map, the tiles and the killer with his perk setup all comes handy. ofc rng is a thing with the placement of pallets and the opened vaults you can use. ofc practise is important but you need also the know how. playing as killer and watching some good loopers in YT or twitch helps a ton. If you like you can train with me in kyf. So i can see your movement and you can try different things. if you want to, just ask. i play almost daily

its all about the correct pathing and being able to judge distances correctly.

in the end you always need to see where the killer is, remember where the next window / pallet is and then juge weather you can make it to said pallet / window without being hit. and as long as you can do that and hug the walls of things you run around, the killer wll have a hard timem catching you.

and then mindgames come into play.

basically, killers tend to make it seem they go one direction and then attack from the other (or double fake and actually attack from the one they showed you they would since they assumed you would predict their mindgame and therefore not vault a window / pallet)

there are more, but it would take too long to explain them here. basically, like many others said, if you want to get better at one side, you will have to learn the other.
